"Shadow Wolf Mysteries: Bane of the Family" is a great game, a lot more entertaining
than most games from this developer, and that's because it has a nice story that
is not too far-fetched, for a change.
As always, the artwork is just stunning and the music wasn't annoying, which also
tends to happen in most games by these creators.
The biggest cons I can point out are: the backtracking involved regarding the hidden
objects scenes repeating themselves (at least twice) - a map feature would have been
nice - and the ridiculously abrupt ending - the way it's made it just shamelessly forces
you to buy the Collector's Edition and play the bonus chapter IF you intend to see an
ACTUAL ending (and the extra chapter is really short).
Overall, I can recommend this game.
Even though it's old and has a bit too many HO scenes for me, it didn't stop me
from having fun playing it and it hasn't aged that badly.
I recommend this game!

I've played all of the "League of the Light" games - they all have amazing artwork,
unbelievable ambiance, great music, nice stories and are all extremely entertaining.
"The Gatherer" almost possesses all of those pros as well, but the story in this
one was the worst so far - very poorly explained - and had an awful ending (the ending
cutscene lasted for about 1 or 2 minutes, or something...). Also, I felt the new
characters were woefully underused...
Regarding the bonus chapter, it was very nice, with a different location, but it
was very short.
Overall, because I absolutely love this game series - and because I have no doubt
that it's one of the best out there at the moment - I will still recommend it. This
is also because I had a lot of fun with it even though it wasn't as great as the
previous ones.
I recommend this game!

I've played all Enigmatis games and I've loved them all, but the first and this last are, in my opinion, the best.
The Shadow of Karkhala has great music, solvable puzzles, breathtaking graphics and, the best thing about it, a wonderful storyline. What makes the Enigmatis series great is the continuous facet of its story (chasing after the Preacher throughout the 3 games and finally catching him) and the whole lore about Asmodai and its cult. Another thing that also makes this game series great is the fact that it ended, in contrast to most HO series nowadays.
However, as far as CE content goes, there's nothing much and the bonus story is very short and unnecessary.
Well then, I definitely recommend this wonderful detective game that, even though it uses the same old "light versus dark" storyline, it actually manages to make it convincing and exciting in a hidden-object game environment.
I recommend this game!

Although there's nothing new here, I definitely recommend "Christmas Stories: Puss in Boots", for it is quite an entertaining and cute game, full of lovely furry characters, wonderful artwork and music.
The puzzles are very easy, but entertaining, nonetheless and the bonus room extra is a nice little addition. I also recommend the bonus game, since the story is delightful and its main character is very cute, Prince.
The only fault I can point out is the main game's story, since it's very lackluster and practically non-existent.
Still, I really enjoyed it for what it is - and would play it again - a lovely holiday game with endearing characters and top-notch art :)
I recommend this game!

Mystery Trackers: Winterpoint Tragedy promised to be a good game, but, although entertaining, it could have been much better, especially considering it is a Mystery Trackers game.
- The story seemed promising at first, but then it wasn't fleshed out properly.
- It's a very, very short game. I finished it in around 2h, and that's because I didn't play it in one sitting.
- The locations used were very few and unnoteworthy.
The positive aspects were that the artwork and the special effects were very beautiful and the interactive puzzles were kind of fun.
In conclusion, I don't think this is a game worth your money.
It might be beautiful but it's very short, unremarkable and in its final stages feels very rushed.
It's a shame that such a lovely snowy setting went to waste.
I don't recommend this game.

A very nice and entertaining game with easily solvable puzzles (except for the mayan numeric system one). It's a shame about the ending though, very anti-climatic, indeed. I'll have to say I felt it was a bit on the short side, too.
The way the game ends begs for a sequel but, sadly and unfortunately, after 10 years, that is not likely at all.
The only awful things I can point out are the extreme linearity of the game and the cringeworthy voice acting, especially that of the main villain.
In short, it's a very nice little adventure game, but I was left feeling it could have been so much, much better.
I recommend this game!

This game is really beautiful if not the most beautiful of ERS games and also the one I liked the most by them so far.
It was only quite entertaining for me, but for most people I'm sure it will be highly fun to play. However, the dumb storyline and characters always gets in my way, although some people aren't bothered by it.
The artwork is simply beautiful, crisp and full of color. Very lively!
And the characters artwork was lovely, too, especially Krastian's.
One of the most baffling things was that, in the main game, you find out that Krastian was just using Elonna, not really loving her and whatnot, then, in the bonus chapter, turns out they were some sort of "star-crossed lovers".
You gotta hate these things.
Not to mention King Eridan was the most useless of kings, always passing out...
Also not forgetting that I got the whole plot by the beginning of the game.
Another bothersome thing was that you only get to play two interactive hidden-objects scenes in the entire game (bonus chapter included) and the rest you know how it is. It's not the first time this has happened in recent ERS game and I'm not happy with it.
And the music... The same track playing over and over and over again. If only it was nice to listen to...
The bonus chapter wasn't too bad nor too good, either, so, except for the fairy house, which I really loved, I didn't find the Collector's Edition that much worth it.
These games are always style over substance, every single time.
But, overall, it's beautiful and fun. A nice game to spend some time. Try to ignore the ridiculous and irritating characters, the lame storyline and the annoying music and you're good to go.
So, I'll recommend it, since you can still have fun with the tasks, with the hidden objects scenes (which are beautiful), and with your cute fairy helper.
Although nothing phenomenal, I'm very positive I'll play it again someday!
I recommend this game!

"Fantastic Creations: House of Brass" was one of the most lovely, saddest games I've ever played, and how surprised I was to find out that it was made by portuguese people!
This game is full of mini-games and has a different take on the hidden objects scenes, a fun one that makes you think, for a change.
Here's what I loved most about this:
- The soundtrack is just beautiful, I was so happy that it came with the CE!
It's amazing on how, when I listen to it now that I've finished the game, certain sections of a track are very sad, and in those parts, Edwin and Gwen's story comes back to haunt me.
- The storyline is the most melancholic I ever experienced on a hidden objects games, it's heartbreaking, really. I couldn't help but feel very, very sorry for Edwin...
It's amazing how the creators of the game built it in such a way that I could always feel the way the characters were supposed to feel. So, so, so amazing. This tale really made me wonder about many things.
- The artwork, both the character's, the locations, the constrution plans, etc. was lovely, too.
- The bonus chapter was wonderful, and I really loved playing it from Gwen's point of view. It made it all even more painful in the end;
Now here's what I didn't like:
- Way too many mini-games. This wouldn't be such a problem if they were always varied, but no. Most mini-games you would play you would play them again at least 3 times. This made me very bored and longing for the skip button to recharge...;
- The way the story ends, both in the main game and also in the bonus chapter. You are left wondering what happened to Edwin, one of the main characters, on both. Such an abrupte and unresolved way of finishing a game isn't good, especially after the amazing story we witnessed during the game. It almosts feels unfair to Edwin. No closure whatsoever isn't definitely good;
- Not much variety in gameplay. After all is said and done, all you do in reality is a ton of mini-games and/or puzzles and play a significant amount of hidden objects scenes, with a few inventory interactions inbetween. After a while, it started to get on my nerves, since it was all very repetitive, although the story was advancing and unfurling at just the right pace. More varied mini-games, some nice inventory based puzzles, more places to visit, etc. would have been really wonderful;
- The game is quite short, all things considered. Not too short, but short in comparison to most casual games;
- At any point, some sort of redemption to Edwin would have been really nice. This way, the game makes Edwin look like the ultimate bad guy, when, in fact, all he did was for Gwen. However, he was blind with his love for his work and for trying to please his wife, probably trying, in some way, to compensate for her isolation;
Conclusion:
Although an inventive game, there's not much originality in gameplay here, which made me feel disappointed, since the game could have been absolutely more amazing than it is.
But it is a piece of art, definitely, when it comes to the beautiful artwork, to the memorable characters, and to the heartbreakingly magnificient story. A story about love, neglect, loss, oblivion, desolation, sorrow, desperation, and, in the end, madness.
I recommend this game!

The first time I played this game (beta testing) I simply loved it and was eager for it to come out so I could play it fully.
Now, I have no idea why I liked it so much since I ended up hating it.
"The Torment of Mont Triste" is not that bad of a game, but, unfortunately, is a very unoriginal one. All has been done before and better.
You have heard and read this storyline a dozen times before, you have played all these puzzles before and so on.
The only original things I can point out are the following:
- the mouses puzzle was very fun and inventive;
- the hidden object scene were everything was floating on air was brilliant, too and totally different;
The sad thing about this is that they were, although very few, amazing, and so, deep down inside, I know that this game could have been a great one.
Redeeming qualities (besides the ones mentioned above):
- The artwork. Very lovely, colourful, crisp and filled with flowers. A great improvement over all the other graphics of games released by this developer.
I didn't play the bonus chapter since I was deadly bored and was already rushing to finish the main game.
The storyline is extremely boring and uninteresting and the characters are totally bland (Blanc's voice-over was dead-on irritating).
I'll give this game 2 stars and a half.
Play this game only if you don't care about doing everything you have done before in games of this genre, since, if you can get past this, I'm sure you can find some entertainment here. That's why I'll still recommend it.
But, still, make sure you try it first.
I wish I did.
I recommend this game!

"Web of Deceit: Black Widow" was a very nice and entertaining game to play. The Collector's Edition was worth just to play the bonus chapter which was quite long and it was also very interesting since you played as the main game's antagonist, Morgana and got to visit a handful of beautiful new locations.
The best assets regarding the game were:
The graphics and the artwork are just breathtaking. So very beautifully colored and detailed, and very, very atmospheric. It was all so well made that I could almost feel the opression of the secrets that Andville had kept for all those years!
The audio was nothing short of great, too. The music was very different from what I'm used to listen to in other games and it was very mysterious!
The hidden objects scenes were also beautiful and very fun to play.
The storyline was nice, too, and a bit different from what I'm used to. One of the best things about it was that in the end, it all makes sense and nothing is left unexplained. The developers really did a top-notch work here. I won't spoil it for you so you can fully appreciate it when you play the game ;)
Now for the "bad stuff":
Now, I know I hate live-action in video-games, but I swore that I completely hated it in this particular game! Where can I start... The acting was the worst I have seen in centuries (and I ain't that old, mind you); The lines delivery was so slow that it almost made me fall asleep; the voice-overs weren't great either, except maybe for the big spider ones. It was a complete, very slow, train-wreck. I pratically skipped all the text so I didn't have to deal with it. It was embarrassing, actually... Luckily, it didn't managed to detract me from the storyline itself, so it had something good to it, after all...
Besides the bonus chapter, which was very good (as I have mentioned before), there's nothing more worth the time in the CE. So, buy it if you manage to love the Standard Edition and are left wanting more.
This game was very well developed and produced, and these developers are one of the best artists out there when it comes to amazingly beautiful and luxurious artwork and graphics. This game was very entertaining and gripping and the atmosphere is just amazing!
A very decent game, in my honest opinion. Well worth my time.
And yours, too, I hope!
I recommend this game!
