I almost groaned as soon as I saw the Graphics & heard some of the music - I thought oh no this is a game I have had for years & BF has renamed it without telling us. I hate that! But I was pleasantly surprised & relieved that it was a modern version of H Gift & more visually appealing, although the Gems etc are still the same. With the 3 game options the music was different - thank goodness - same orig. music in the bonus game though! The Bonus game confused me a little as it seemed to go on & on, but I was collecting hammers with each success. I also gained all my trophies 1/2 way through the Demo, so don't know what happens after that. I decided to use a credit to buy the game as I enjoyed it & the music better than Hol. Gift
I am always willing to give a game the benefit of the doubt even after so many disliking it, as we are all different, but when I nod off after only 10 mins, due to lack of matches & uncertainty of what to do next & then have to buy more moves with the little money I have, that's it for me = delete. Maybe it could have had some more promise if the Devs re thought/designed it, as I thought the storyline was promising.
Yes @ 1st glance the graphics aren't exciting, but really it is the game play that matters & I didn't think about the graphics as I concentrated on the game. This game reminds me of a certain bird game, the pearl games & tennis in the face. It is a matter of timing & aiming to miss obstacles etc, which I enjoyed until Lvl 8 - had quite a few attempts before success. It is also a given no. of moves game. There is no storyline (not necessary) this is purely a see how well you can do game, with no instructions, but you can go back & choose lvls you have played - but I haven't figured out why the better score doesn't always register on the lvls board I would get this just because it is a nice change from usual M3s, & poppers.
The storyline has been explained by Pennmom,so the game is centred around rescueing her brother from the Witch. The witch has to be fought every few games, during which she changes cakes to add to difficulty for matching & achieving the goals for the level. Of course we get up to 3 stars per level, & earn coins to purchase extra moves & some bonuses. Other bonuses can appear through the game. There are also obstacles, & some cakes can't be matched but can drop off board when others are matched over them. I really like the colourful graphics, good enough to make me want to head for the local bakery! :) But if you lose a level, the sister cries very realistically, & after 3 lost levels (which you do replay) she nearly drove me potty. With repeats of levels after Lvl 4, I played 22 lvls before time was up. At 1st I thought this was mostly for kids, but it does get a bit tricky after Lvl 3, but not too tricky- every game needs to be a challenge or else boring. If you like a bit of colour in your life, then give it a try.
Did demo in relaxed & tried to swap over to normal, but no success. Later commenced with a different name in normal mode. Normal didn't seem much if any different & apart from 2 levels I sailed through, as the bonuses seemed to do their own thing, with lots of explosions etc. These do help to keep you awake. The goals were fairly easy to achieve, @ least for some time. You are given coins for no. of moves unused, which can be used later for when you run out of moves or need more boosters. There are goals & hints given @ start of each new level - seemed to be 15 levels in a chapter of the story - could not bear the Reindeer in the story part & hurried on. The graphics are simple, but the sweets are pretty & I barely noticed the music. I did buy on special offer, if only to try the normal mode.
I loved this game so much I had to play nonstop until demo ran out & promptly bought it. It is like a breath of fresh air M3 wise, as it has an interesting if not slightly strange story, that takes you to different places/rooms around London. I liked the graphics. I played relaxed (until I get used to the rules). The tutorial is excellent & easy to understand (whilst it is turned on) & shows what to do on each level ie goals - remove silver tiles & so many gems etc. There are satisfying explosions, you are told when you have enough gems to upgrade, also swirling "things" that can rotate & also a slider, hammer etc - but not all on the same level @ once. Also crates that hide gems, key to unlock more board & more. There are also achievements which are earned, which help further. I think this is worth trying.
A M3 with those spiders periodically. This is a delightful M3 that brightens up my time because the colours are nice & bright & graphics good. Nice music. Has a storyline as described below, not so keen on some of the creatures flying around in the story, but it is fantasy. I played with timer & only failed once, & before I realised, the demo was up. I bought it, even though it is much like quite a few M3s
At first I thought this may have been a good game for kids, but soon changed my mind. The graphics are kid oriented & the storyline, but I got stuck on a couple of levels - got up to about Lvl 13 in demo due to this. This is a goal in alotted moves game, for usual up to 3 stars per level, & earned coins you can use to get yourself out of trouble. If all fails you can try lvl again until maybe you succeed, Boosters are seemingly rewarded to you as you progress & shuffles are automatic. There are components to be found (HO) & more to be moved down board. For some reason the squares are ice that you break, & the board MOVES in all different directions on some levels, which can either help or hinder. So this can be a bit of a challenge. The characters (maybe ghosts) are rather cute & the sound effects & music are pleasant, although the music seems to have a certain urgency about it. This is a bit of a change to the usual M3, so maybe try it & judge for yourself.
I had to try this to see if it was really as the reviews indicated. I am glad I did, as I really enjoyed it - the graphics are pretty, the music is relaxing, love the sound effects & the different games, to break up the Match 3, which could become a little monotonous, but if you use the powerups wisely, it is more enjoyable. I love M3s where you draw lines, somehow satisfies my need for speed! :) The jigsaws were very enjoyable & not too big or small & pretty underwater scenes I just skip Sudoku - not my cuppa, & you get points towards being able to skip it during the M3s. Please give it ago & judge for yourself.
I recommend this game!

Land of Runes
Land of Runes challenges you to eliminate stacks of colored blocks from ancient memorials located at the base of a fiery volcano!
I thought this was just going to be like Cubis, & so I nearly didn't try it. I am sooo glad I did try it, as I am hooked! The only thing similar to Cubis are the blocks & some moves, otherwise there are all sorts of powerups, different types of cubes - helpful & not. I love the colours & the jungle setting. Just remember to collect your treasure chests every level I have been playing since the demo & since I bought it (immediately) quite some hours ago & I just have to find a way to STOP! - as it is the wee hours & I need some sleep.
