I don't usually bother commenting on games but this was a fun one. Interesting enough that if you play it again a few years later, you don't remember every step. I didn't even remember the plot.

I loved the first PuppetShow game I played years ago. I still find it a challenge. This was the 2nd one I tried. Very different. Way too easy. Finished the demo in 40 minutes. And I never saw any collectibles. Why do they call it a collectors edition? The only reason I can think of is to charge a higher price. I only gave it 2 stars on the challenge level because I'm in a good mood. Not a buy for me.

At first I thought this game would be pretty boring. I hate when you are shown everything, like sparkles in a HO game, and I felt like I was being led around by the nose, but that soon changed. And as the game progresses, and you become more experienced, there are more treasures, and more choices. The story line was good, and, though there was a lot of reading, it fell right in line with the game and did not make me want to yell "hurry up and stop talking" like most games. Warning: You will need to wear your strongest glasses. Most items are very well hidden.

Elephant is my absolute favorite designer. I look forward to their games with great anticipation. Their games are inventive, creative and they were the first to explore games that make you think. The puzzles are new and very interactive: ie: Fates Carnival. This game was way, way below that standard. There were little pictures because you can't possible know that the Irish gnome holding up his hat tipping hand needs a hat. etc.etc. I would warn spoiler alert, but you have the picture right there. These little clues were all over the game. Then there were a couple of times that you had to do something that did not follow normal game protocol. Usually when you have to do something to something that is at the far end of a scene, the game will allow you a close-up of the area that is active when you click on it, so you know it is an active area. A couple of times there were active areas in this game that gave no clue unless (I assume) you played with sparkles (yuck). One would have to grab an item from the inventory and touch it everywhere in every scene to make this work. That is ridiculous. I am trying to explain my frustration without giving away anything. The games graphics are also not up to Elephant's standards. The characters and the scenes were stiff and dark. The storyline is European/American based, but so much of the graphics are Indian or Asian. Normally such things would not bother me, but I had just finished playing a game that was way too easy to be fun, whose designers were obviously from India. I play with my husband and he enjoys the easy games. As I said I was eagerly anticipating a new Elephant game, only to discover it almost looked and felt as if it had been designed by the same people as the one I had just finished. A European battle ax does not look like a duel pointed spear with wavey blades. Especially the Bonus Chapter. It was frankly terrible, and totally felt as if it had just been tacked on to say it was a collectible. Elephant games really let me down this time.
Free the frog princes from the clutches of an evil witch! Return them to their princess brides, and find out if the kiss of love can break the witch’s curse!
The game was cute, fun little story. It was a little shorter than I expected, but I have to say, the cursor drove me crazy. My husband tried to play it. The cuteness did not bug him, it was the cursor. NEVER DO THAT AGAIN. When I click on something I want to be able to click on it, not float over it. Of course we tried changing from the game cursor to the system cursor but it still did the same thing.
So much fun I have been late for work several times. First, long, long play time. You certainly get your money's worth. And honestly, it has been quite a while since my husband and I vied for computer time. Hubby likes easy, no thinking games. He usually plays on casual mode, while I like a challenge. This game certainly satisfies us both. There is a lot going on, at all times, but if you miss it, you get it later. If a puzzle, which BTW, are unique and challenging, takes too long, like you have to go to work etc, you can skip it, no penalty, and get the reward for it later. And play is different for everyone. Hubby has somehow acquired over 35000 in gold, while mine stays around 2000. Yet we both have developed our theme parks. Not done with the game yet. We have both been playing it for a week. Can't wait to see the end results.

If your looking for a game you can play while multitasking or after a hard day at work and you just want to veg, than this is the one. I played it on the hardest level and never really had to think except once. Even than I was right, the game just wouldn't do what it was supposed to do. My hubby had the same trouble in the same spot. My husband likes easy games, which is why we purchased this one, but I have to tell you, half way through, he left the room and I changed his game to a more difficult level. He never noticed. SPOILER ALERT: DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WHAT THIS CLUE: The part where the game seems to not want to do it's thing is where you are supposed to create a torch. Just keep doing the obvious thing. Eventually the "cloth" will stick to the "pole".

I am not quite finished with this game yet, but just had to leave a review. I am loving it. Creative new games and mini puzzles. Darling little hamster you even get to name. Long play time. I am playing the CE and it has an amazing array of possible rewards. Very different. I am so happy not to see the same old thing because frankly I was getting pretty tired of HO and Adventure games. Not only are there 3 different play level, but now they have created a 4th. A custom level. I love it. I was able to turn off the sparkles, which I HATE, but still leave some of the potential helpful hints available. Amazing play control. Take your time and play this one slowly. Don't keep hitting the hint button. Enjoy it. Have fun.

If you are looking for a challenge this is it. The other Roads of Rome games are childs play. There are threee modes which is a definite improvement. I had to start in easy. I played RoR 2 and reached expert in hard mode on most of the levels the first time I played them, but I have been working on R o R 3 for a couple of months. Of course you mix it up, play other games inbetween and live your life, but I have finally reached the expert level on all 40 levels and 2 of the three bonus levels in hard mode. One more to go, but like I said, this game has been giving me a good time for several months. Now that is getting your money's worth! Sometimes I find myself sitting at my desk thinking about how to shorten my time. Oops. The boss wouldn't like that.
Graphics and sound were good, but the story line was poor. Normally that does not bother me, but the hero seemed indestructible. Several times there was a situation that should have ended him but he woke in another room. What? And honestly, it was so easy that I was pretty bored. Long game play though. It kind of seemed interminable to me, but my husband liked the game. He plays to let him mind veg out, often with sparkles turned on etc, so it was fine for him. I reccomend this game for folks who like it are not looking for the challenge. Then it is fine.
