The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
I am not really understanding the poor reviews of this game. It is different, thank God, because I was really getting bored with the same old stuff. This game is a rare gem of thinking outside the box. True, it does not hold your hand, but even my hubby, who always plays on casual mode and basicly wants a game to be laid out for him, (not that he is stupid by any means, he uses games for his brain to go into casual mode) finally got the hang of what the designers wanted and enjoyed the game. I say play the free trial, give it a chance, and dont give up just because the game doesn't tell you where every little item is. Oh yeah, warning, it is creepy. Mostly when you least expect it.
2D graphics kind of threw me at first, considering all the complicated, large file games out there. The hint button only works in the HO scenes, which forces you to use your mind. There is a map, thank goodness, or I never would have found my way around. I found this game a very enjoyable challange. Long play too. Good story line. Also, the music set the mood well without driving you crazy with it's repetativeness.
Graphics, story, puzzles, HO scenes etc, all very well done, but what I love about the elephant games is the 3 levels of play, interchangable inside the game, and when in advanced or hardcore mode, the game still has enough information to figure out what is going on, while eliminating the sparkles and the hand holding. I have never given excellent on everything before, but this game deserves it.
Fast little game that was more fun then I expected. OK to spend 2.99 or 3.99 but short for 7 bucks. Then again, I'm a tightwad. One comment, as a woman I was glad to see a male hero. Big fish, where have all the men gone? Funny, but my husband never even noticed that most of the adventure games we play are female dominated. Kind of bugs me, so I repeat an earlier reviewer with, "Go Dad!"
I did enjoy this game, but if you don't like the traveling back and forth between scenes, this is not for you. There was a lot of times when it seemed like you went through 8 to 10 scenes to get the next thing you had to do. Still, not too difficult. Towards the end I used to hint button a few times to find out the direction I should head, due to a time crunch. Seems like a long game, good value for the money.
I did enjoy this game. Started on hardcore level but had to switch to middle of the road level about halfway through because I needed a hint. Love that you can switch in the middle of the game by the way. Had to ask for hints 3 or 4 times. Great game. Makes me think!!!!
I enjoyed this game very much. I'm not sure if I really liked the human interaction aspect, but it was unique and definately added to the storyline. OK, the human interaction was fine, but what I really enjoyed about this game was that you got to use a few brain cells. You did not have a bunch of little sparkles leading you every step of the way, yet there are enough clues to keep the game moving at a fast pace. Interesting puzzles and HO scenes kept to a minimum. Thanks guys.
I really enjoyed the fact that this game did not just jump from on HO scene to the next. You had to do a little exploring and thinking, which is what I look for in a game. The only problem was it was pretty easy to figure out the pattern of the game by the end, still, I enjoyed it far more than most.
Definately a beginner level game. Only one difficulty level, and that is very easy. Not only sparkles, but the bright flash of light that shows you the next step, often before you even have a chance to think about it, or try any other path. Boring. Graphics good. Would recommend for beginner or someone who just wants to run through a game without thinking. Some people like to play that way sometimes.
This game offered 3 difficulty levels which makes it ideal for family fun, and the puzzles were not all just the same ole, same ole. Moved quickly, but not too easy.
