STORYLINE: Artworks are disappearing from a Museum of Natural History and you are investigating what happened to them. GAMEPLAY: There are a lot of rooms to explore for clues. As a bonus, you get to sort through the junk you collect to come up with various disguises – such fun to see what you can come up with. If that’s not enough, you also get to pick out objects that will make up a handy tool or gadget to use (don’t worry, you don’t have to actually assemble them from scratch, you just need to gather the objects).
HOS are clear and true to size. Sometimes you have to solve a riddle to determine what it is you’re looking for. You also have to think about what you have to do. When you’re disguised, your costume will have something to do with what needs to be done, and you have to figure out what it is. Lots of minigames and puzzles - the usual variety, difficulty is easy to moderate. Artwork is crisp and clean and, although some scenes are a bit dark, you can usually make out what you need.
STORYLINE: A well thought-out story. A doctor, mourning the loss of his daughter to mysterious causes, is called to Hill Lock hospital to investigate unusual deaths and activities in town and in the mine. When he arrives, the town looks abandoned, except for the Sheriff, whose son is strangely missing. Strange scary things are happening in the lab and morgue. Could the townspeople have been turned into vampires? You’ll have to find out by following instructions found in the lab. And a strange girl, appearing to be his daughter, keeps appearing periodically.
GAMEPLAY: Straightforward. A strange occurrence in the morgue causes the doctor to rush out. His medical analysis is abandoned and he instead finds he is investigating abandoned buildings. PUZZLES are varied and not too difficult. FRAGS are clear and well defined; sometimes, you may have to collect 6 or 7 objects, but must find 2 or 3 of one of those objects to complete the FRAG. When you need an inventory item to solve a problem, the game is a little more realistic in that it allows the use of simple objects to solve it – ex: you need to cut something and you have a knife, but the game wants you to find a scissors. Here, the game would allow you to use the knife as you would in real life. In casual play, hint recharges very fast and gives clear direction in where the next action should be, which I appreciate as I don’t have to hunt for a W/T if stuck.
Your brother has been kidnapped and you have to save him from a cult. Although this is a HOG, there are more puzzles and mini-games than HOS. The puzzles tend to be more of the sliding and swap styles than any others. Not too difficult. HOS are large and not too crowded; some interaction is required. Live actors add interest. But dialogue is written. Hints recharge vary quickly and point to where action is possible. Although there are some “scary” or creepy elements in the story, they are not overplayed. Visuals are detailed, but could be a little crisper (at least on my extra-large screen). Sound effects are minimal. Sound storyline. About 3 ½ - 4 hours casual.
Third installment of Haunted Hotel series. Although not spectacular, it was quite nice and not too difficult. Storyline itself is a good twist of the proverbial time machine standby. Game was about 4 hours on casual. Nice mix of adventure and HOS.
STORYLINE: The Lonely Dream Hotel is a time machine which has gone amuck and trapped people inside. [Originally, the hotel was a time machine that traveled through time, but has evolved so that its guests travel instead.] You play FBI agent Damon Sundey, who must repair the machine and free its captives. The plot has its twists and turns, so you have to pay attention if you decide to follow the story. Creepy sound effects add to the atmosphere. If you get stuck, the hint system will advise the next step [some people complain about that type of hint, but if it bothers you, best to figure it out on our own].
HOS are crisp and well defined, yet well hidden. Nice mix of mini-games. Graphics are bright and well detailed. Well crafted and thought-out. I think it is a better than the original Haunted Hotel.
Easy HOG targeted to children. Short simple puzzles, such as helping Sally and Mike into their costumes. Collect treats, such as candy canes, and laughing skull tricks for extra points. HOS are just that – a little crowded but colorful, large objects – easy for children to spot. No inventory is collected to be used later. Sound effects are aimed at the children also. No real creativity; no real story (but then young children could probably care less if their goal is simply object hunting with apropos noises). Although I frequently play games that might interest children, this one was just not my cup of tea personally. You’ll have to demo to see if you would enjoy playing it with them.
I recommend this game!

Fitness Dash
Dinertown`s gotten soft in the middle! Help Jo run a successful chain of gyms in this high-impact Time Management game!
In Fitness Dash, Jo the jogger wants to whip friends into shape. So she opens new gyms to help them lose weight and get fit. Jo has to hand her guests towels, bring them drinks, clean the machines for the next guest, send members to the showers, try to color match the guests with the equipment, exercise mats, and shower colors and fix equipment. With the money made, she can upgrade equipment and amenities. She also has to repair the TV, wash the towels, and get rid of the ice cream guy before the guests see him. There are 5 gyms with 10 rounds each. After the 10 rounds at each gym, your friends join in a tug-of-war mini game with members of another gym .
You can win trophies for playing well and, after completion, can play just the mini-game. Keep customers waiting in line happy by sending them to the stretching mats until a machine is available or feeding a muffin to the slow pokes (which causes them to immediately finish their work-out). The customers are many of those we’ve seen in the Diner Dash and Wedding Dash games, each with their own level of patience and desire to work out longer. Play is the same as the other Dash games – a lot of fast action and fun.
I recommend this game!

Garden Dash
Help Barb transform urban lots into green gardens! Care for plants with quirky needs and grow produce for the DinerTown community.
Barb, the business woman from Diner Dash, is so stressed from her work that she decides to relax by gardening. She supplies produce to her various Diner Towners and her goal is not to earn a certain amount of money, but instead to fill the orders with time limits. There are 5 locations of 10 levels each. You can choose one of two difficulty levels and earn trophies for your success.
You plant, raise, harvest and deliver flowers, fruits, or vegetables. And are they quirky produce species! Peaches need their muffler after being watered so they don't catch cold, some plants must be watered twice, roses like earphones to listen to music, eggplants need to be shined, cucumbers need to be talked to, and garden pests need to be destroyed. Pots will change to the color of the plant, so subsequent seeds should be planted in like color containers when possible. You can buy helpers, like automatic pickers, containers with earphones, self-watering planters, faster footwear, etc.
You can earn extra time to collect the produce by collecting leaves that drop to the floor whenever you harvest a plant. When you’ve collected enough, the timer will stop for a short time and all plants will glow with 5 hearts. You also have obstacles to beat, such as dogs or wind or broken pots to mend. Fast paced, addictive and fun game.
What a creepy and sinister game! Such eerie and creepy sound effects and music. Wouldn't want to play it on a stormy night while home alone. Scarier than things that go bump in the night. You go back to your youth camp at the suggestion of you shrink to put your nightmares at rest. Who should meet you but one of the kids who disappeared in a labyrinth and needs your help.
Horrifying surprises abound as you go through the camp, making it even more fun to play. There are so many places to explore that the interactive map sure is handy. And so many things going on at once; either a good memory or pen and paper would come in handy. Very detailed graphics and challenging gameplay. If you like scary, this is it! A very well developed, polished game. It certainly grabs your attention from the get go!
I recommend this game!

Diner Dash: Hometown Hero
On a visit to her hometown, Flo and her Grandma take a stroll down memory lane. Help them restore some of Flo's favorite places.
Funding for the zoo, museum and even the ballpark in Flo’s hometown has been cut, leaving the institutions in shambles and restaurants in even more disrepair. Here come Flo and grandma to the rescue. Help them make a success of the restaurants, so that the number of visitors increase, thereby saving the town’s cherished family activity venues.
Select different decorations, food choices and equipment at different levels to make the surroundings and restaurants more attractive, while keeping the customers happy. It is really fun to try beating her assistant in seating customers, taking orders, bringing drinks and desserts, snapping tourists’ pictures, cleaning up spills [Tip: let the assistant clean up the spills]. It's sometimes a shoving match.
Deal with different customers like teenage cell-phone addicts and parents with crying babies who irritate fellow diners and Hungrymen who order twice. Fast paced and hours of fun like the original. Very addictive.
I recommend this game!

Diner Dash 5: BOOM
Rebuild poor Flo’s Diner in Diner Dash 5: BOOM! Earn enough money to customize the new diner and design a brand new restaurant!
Flo’s free breakfast causes her diner to explode, forcing her to serve up her scrumptious meals in the street, making use of the bus stop and fire escapes for extra seating. Her cast of quirky characters (with a few new characters) now patronize their new favorite establishment, Flo’s in the Street.
Basic gameplay is the same as with the others in the series: match customers with like-colored seats, deliver menus, take orders, bus tables, deliver food and get snacks, all while keeping customers in line from leaving.
Now you can add townies to compose groups before seating them. With the money you earn, you buy upgrades of your choice to make your customers happier. Advise Hal on materials and colors as he rebuilds the diner to your specifications to be better than ever. Fast paced and fun, especially with keeping those business women on time and dealing with those phone addicts and slow seniors.
There are bonus levels at the end of the chapters which are more difficult. Graphics, cutscenes, voiceovers and production values are good. Once you’ve finished the story mode, try the endless shift. Very addictive. This is one of my 2 favorite Diner Dash games.
