Spectacular! The artistry is incredibly breathtaking. The mystery and characters fetching. The adventure you encounter while pursuing the villain shows the imagination of the creative team. The HOS are bright, crisp, clear and pleasing to the eye. Although the HOS are replayed, anything that is changed the first time it’s played remains changed in the subsequent scene. So you aren’t looking for the same objects.
And the music is easily the best I’ve heard in any game. Two main scores (with at least one minor track): one for HOGs and one for the adventure portion - both are top-notch, apparently composed for Mystery of Venice, and fit the story perfectly. A couple HOGs have no music and I so wanted to shake my computer and blame it for not playing any.
Puzzles are innovative with difficulty ranging from intermediate to more challenging. Animation is fantastic and clearly reflects what the character is saying. Voice acting is the weakest point but, for the most part, is very good (though it sounds like one actor plays the distraught husband, as well as the villain). Don’t forget to collect all coins because you will need everyone of them to buy needed tools. This is one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever played – but then it is from ERS!
Princess Sophia, our adorable pocket dragon, and our most helpful owl make their last appearance. We also have an interactive map and a lot of things to do, plenty of HOS and puzzles (some quite unique). It is, unfortunately, the conclusion of this lovely series. What's not to like! The artwork again is very picturesque and beautifully drawn, the narrator pleasant to listen to, the story's appealing and the music very relaxing after a stressful day. This is a pleasant, creative and enchanting series and this final episode measures up the other three.
Prepare for a mind-bending journey into the realm of the weird in Haunted Halls: Revenge of Dr. Blackmore! Brace yourself for the unexpected in this exciting Hidden Object adventure!
Lots of interesting things to do and see in order to beat that creepy tentacled Dr. Blackmore at his morbid game. The HOS, as others said, are very different and fun. Graphics are great, as is the storyline. The animals add another entertaining dimension. Really cool puzzles and ways to progress the game. Doing several steps to acquire or do something is a lot of fun. As always, ERS sets the bar quite high for other developers to follow. A great followup to Green Hills Sanitarium.
Beautiful New Orleans. Mardi Gras. Sinister villains cloaked in gorgeous costumes and masks. Skeleton heads appearing in the midst of fog. People looking encased in a nylon stocking, like popped bubblegum. Sometimes surprisingly funny - like a clown exploding on a slot machine. Game is a marked contrast of attributes.
The graphics are delightful and top-notch. Even the puzzles are brightly colored and superbly done. HOS are well delineated and gorgeous with good visibility. No backtracking. Unique storyline with satisfying ending. Developers put a lot of thought into making this fabulously polished game. Kudos to them. Can’t say enough good things about it. No cons. Took me 4 ½-5 hours on casual mode, taking time to look at the picturesque scenery.
I recommend this game!

Mystery P.I.: The Curious Case of Counterfeit Cove
Travel to New England to investigate a counterfeiting ring in Mystery P.I.: The Curious Case of Counterfeit Cove!
Kid friendly. If you want a game composed almost entirely of HOGs with a few easy mini-games thrown in, this is it. You can choose between timed and untimed. Several scenes (you choose the order) for each location in your investigation of counterfeit money, about 10 objects per scene. The HOS are somewhat crowded with quite a few small objects to find. It gets more difficult in the timed mode as you progress through the game because more locations will be added. But you can memorize where some objects are located to beat the time, because, even though there is a wide range of locations, they do repeat. Lengthy game.
As darkness falls, strange dreams from the past haunt Dianne. Help her uncover the hidden secret that lies within her dreams and unravel a love story that’s lost within time.
Storyline: A photographer has dreams of a young couple in some ancient land, and her lover is brutally killed (the killing is tastefully handled). Graphics are superb, with allluring environments everywhere you look. Soundscapes are reminiscent of olden days when people weren’t in a hurry. There’s no sense of urgency in the gameplay. HOS are not too crowded and objects are well defined. There are also some crisp, fill in the circles scenes and a few spot the differences. A lovely, pleasant game to spend a relaxing afternoon with.
I recommend this game!

E.P.I.C: Wishmaster Adventures
Experience an incredible space adventure in E.P.I.C!
An unusual game – graphics are different than what’s normally expected and the story is certainly an entertaining diversion from the usual car crash, kidnapped person, or ghost stories. Good mix of adventure and puzzles. Imaginative artists, quaint scenes. Touch of mystery. The cursor frequently changes to a hand, even though there is nothing to pick up. So it can be a little confusing until you get used to it. Hint highlights the area in which you can do something. Not really my cup of tea, but if you’re looking for a visual experience and unique tale that’s a change from the usual, this game might appeal to you.
Average length; not as eerie as I thought it would be. 3 different and unique stories. You enter a graveyard, visit 3 graves, and the occupants want you to help them so they can retire to eternal peace: rescue a little girl from a fire (but you leave her dad there and don’t even check on him), find out who killed a woman who wants her property to go to her son, and find needed medicine to save a town. Each story is self-contained, so there is limited traveling. The endings to the first 2 stories were satisfactory, not so the third novella.
Graphics are very nice. HOS were somewhat crowded and objects were average sized. Good production values. I liked Children’s Plight a little better, although I have no complaints about this one, other than the object list could have been a little larger. A nice game, not too hard, not too easy.
Refreshingly new storyline is different than the usual car/plane crash and unknown islands. FRAG game with sharp, colorful visual effects that’s fun to play. Scenes are not too crowded as to make it impossible to find the FRAGs, which are small but they are sparkly or brightly colored. Many levels, each with several rooms to explore, but it is short. Music is appropriate to the type of game. This was a treasure just waiting for me to discover. Well worth the sale price.
This is a nice average game. You have many things to do at one time and carry inventory not yet usable. The contrast between found and unfound objects in the HOS could have been sharper. The images in the HOS were frequently indistinct (and not always because they were in shadow). There are “association” mini-games, which make use of a previously seen HOS, in which you match objects to an associated object such as matching a banana with a monkey. Although there was a lot of detail in the environments, they were a little crowded. Pleasant game, but nothing exciting.
