Vogat’s outdone itself with this adventure HOG. I found F.A.C.E.S. to be a well-developed and crafted game, with stunningly detailed graphics creating a creepy environment. I got caught up in the suspense and the music really added to the spooky atmosphere. The horrendous notes left lying around by the staff really nudges the imagination. I found a few of the puzzles were more difficult than expected. I like the challenge. I don’t like to be held by the hand, but the hint system was very welcome and helpful when I was just stuck stuck stuck. Even though the asylum is a common denominator for a lot of HOGS, this game outdoes the others. Keep 'em coming.
A refreshing change from the dark, dank scenery found in so many games. Read Rescue_helo's review for details of how the game works. With the beautiful graphics and well defined objects in the scrollable HOS scenes, this is a very enjoyable game. The hints system is very helpful in finding that last item that's just too well hidden and they quickly recharge. Very well developed story.
I wanted to like this game. While the HOS looked very nice, the items were so tiny that it was a chore to find anything - there were no redeeming qualities to offset my exasperation. The characters were talking every 10 seconds. After awhile, I just didn't care about the murder. Players don't need to be told what the characters just did or found or that it might be important. Too bad, it might have been a good game. I'll never know.
I recommend this game!

Vacation Quest: Australia
Grab your passport and get ready for an exotic Hidden Object Adventure in Vacation Quest: Australia!
Instead of a storyline, it's a delightful game with colorful scenes from various Australian landmarks and natural environments (desert, rural, ocean, urban), as well as some fun facts about the country. Objects are well-sized in the HOS. Puzzles are fairly routine and not too challenging, whether you are a beginner or not. Music is relaxing (a fast foxtrot) and the graphics are right on. Will provide a great recreational afternoon for the entire family to play together.
Opening scenes really grabbed my attention but know that this game is not for children. Although it is not graphic enough to make you jump out of your seat, it is not for the faint of heart. There is physical violence, and the narrator gives vivid descriptions of some of that violence, like saying that some people were buried alive. Narrator sounds pleasant enough; the actors' voices sound forced. Artwork depicts the gangster era of Al Capone and Bugsy Siegel, which I like, but the actors’ wardrobes have a few too many modern touches. Puzzles were varied but very easy. The story seems well-crafted and if you don’t mind the disturbing scenes, it looks like a buy. But because the puzzles are not very challenging and there is little chance of not knowing what to do next are the reasons for me not giving this a 5-star rating like the prior 2 Cemetery Redemption games.
I recommend this game!

Diner Dash: Flo Through Time
Join Flo and take a dash to the past and future, serving up delicious dishes in this temporally twisted Time Management game!
This game features Flo and Granny, as they go back in time to hippy Granny's failing disco. Flo naturally jumps in to make it successful (of course, Flo wasn't born yet and when they return to the present, Granny has no idea what happened). A few of the characters we've met in Diner Dash are present. The game follows the same type of game play as Diner Dash, but this time you add flowers to the tables as an extra bit of challenge. Another success.
I recommend this game!

Diner Dash
This action-puzzler serves up a build-your-restaurant-empire theme with more than 40 levels and two modes of play to feast on.
This is the first Diner Dash game I bought. It is fun, entertaining, and challenging. The small cast of characters have distinct personalities which you need to consider while they are waiting in line or eating. Don't despair if you have trouble completing a level for gold. Eventually, it will become a piece of cake, but it will still be a fun game.
I loved the game. You can amuse yourself while talking to your boring relatives and acquaintances on the phone. Each chapter has its own map which includes a few scattered, hilarious animations [like a sprouting fire hydrant, a bus traveling down a short road, complete with sound effects]. The developers clearly had a terrific sense of humor and had a lot of fun making this game. [Can I work there?]
Voices overs included a couple charming southern accents and a hippy who is obviously on something. Artwork is colorful. In a few instances, part of the scene is hazy because you are looking at someone’s memories, which become clearer as they recall them. Otherwise, the HOS are clear and distinct. There is are generous time limits and hints recharge fast. Although the main story is a about a murder, I view this game as a farce on personalities found in a small town. [Some gameplayers will take offense that the murder is not treated seriously.] Besides the animation on the maps, there are quite a few animated spoofs suddenly appearing in the middle of, or across, the HOS, to make you chuckle. Found it very creative and unique. These would be fun people to know.
This is a beautifully crafted adventure/puzzle/HOS game; length is about 5 hours. The creators gave us real-life squabbling siblings through the entire game - brings back memories. Voice-overs are quite good and actually sound like authentic bickering. He is overenthusiastic, optimistic, and sees the world as one rosy adventure. She is the smart one, cynical and humors him and, for her reward, is exasperated. Their differences in personalities will make you laugh.
There are 6 cities in which riddles are solved, puzzles played and money earned to pay the airfare to the next city. The siblings use a PDA to keep in touch. There may be too much handholding for some people because the characters are always making suggestions. Each chapter ends with variations of HOS and a few puzzles. Story is very well thought out and all the fairly easy riddles, puzzles and HOS are integrated into the game. The artwork is bright and colorful. An orchestra with an occasional choir provides a changing rhythmic music appropriate to the story. Definitely worth a try and a smile or two.
There are 16 cases to solve, each with a time limit. Game lasts about 4-5 hours. Cases generally include various puzzles and HOS, ending with a mini-game identifying the guilty part. The puzzles and HOS in each case are nicely tied to the story. Items are not difficult to identify and fit into the scenes. Find a Sherlock Cap in each book and unlock a bonus chapter. Earn extra hints by finding a Sherlock pipe in each scene.
Fun game, even though solving the crimes is simplistic and quite easy. No annoying traveling. Overall, game has a British feel. Animation is stiff and artwork was bland, though that may be the look for which they were aiming. You can easily stop and restart playing at any point. Once you've played the game, it may be too easy to hold your interest the next time.
