This review is based on the full game, which I just completed.
I found this game a little longer than other HO games I have played (non collector editions), and the hidden object scenes were also a bit more challenging.
The story is based on a journalist sent to a haunted manor to investigate the reason behind the hauntings. It certainly kept me playing til the end, as I wanted to know what was going on!
I liked the length and general feel of the game- it was atmospheric, but not overly creepy.
I didnt like some of the puzzles, which were over-easy or illogical (like needing another tool to do something you could do easily with something you already have), and there was a lot of walking around.
Overall, I did enjoy this game and would recommend it for most people, although- as the game deals with ghosts and other supernatural themes- it might be a little scary for young kids.
I recommend this game!

This review is based on the full version of the game, which I have just completed.
I liked:
~the idea behind the game, which is interesting and its a pity it wasnt more developed.
I didnt like:
~the graphics which were gloomy and seemed almost blurry in places. This made the HO scenes a strain on the eyes.
~the storyline was undeveloped and too simple to be satisfying.
~the overall length was far too short.
Overall, this game was far too short and not enough of a challenge- too much of the same thing over and over to be enjoyable. I cant recommend it, as I feel there are far better, longer games out there at the same price.
I don't recommend this game.

This review is based on the full game which I just completed.
I liked:
~ the graphics and wide range of locations.
~ the storyline, which was interesting and kept me playing to find out what would happen next!
~ many of the puzzles were well designed.
~ the overall length is very decent.
I didn't like:
~ parts of the music were absolutely awful- for example: ear piercing bird singing, so grating I turned it off- and I have high tolerance for annoying sounds.
~ the difficulty level was too high in my opinion, there are no hints or skip buttons, and I ended up needing a walk-through quite a lot. Some of the items are hard to find and there is a lot of walking around and searching through many rooms of junk to get a single thing, which is easy to miss.
Although I did enjoy playing this game due to the interesting story and wide range of locations, I had to frequently use a walkthrough. Even knowing what to do next, parts of the game seemed completely illogical to me, and I was totally stuck.
Locations have to be visited in a certain order to progress and if you get it wrong, there is no way of knowing- just wandering around for ages.
I only recommend this game for those who are up for a real challenge!
I recommend this game!

This review is based on the full game which I have just finished.
As other reviewers have said, it is quite short and formulaic. I thought that the graphics were not bad, some of the puzzles were interesting and the HO scenes were OK. There are a number of varied locations- a boat, beach hut, lab, underseas- and hidden objects are spread over a number of scenes, which adds challenge and makes the game last longer.
What spoiled it for me was the cursor, which had a total mind of its own and was so irritating while attempting to move around scenes and find objects. I nearly skipped one particular puzzle entirely, it was so hard to control. Another thing I found very irritating was in one number based puzzle, I entered a correct answer, but it wouldn't accept it! I had to keep looking for the 'right' combo! In fact, this is a common theme, as you will search for the 'right' pliers, gun etc among a pile of identical/ similar items until you find the correct one! Overall, I found this game too frustrating to recommend it.
I don't recommend this game.

This game reminded me of older games I used to play based almost entirely on dialogue, with poor graphics.
Because this game was released recently, I think this was a style choice on the developers part and does lend a retro, nostalgic air to the game. There is a LOT of reading, so bear this in mind if you are considering getting this game.
I liked
~ the interesting storyline, although there are adult themes like suicide and the supernatural, so I wouldn't recommend it for younger kids.
~ the characters were well done and entertaining.
I didn't like
~ the overall length of the game, depending on how quickly you read, it wont take more than a few hours to finish.
~ the lack of challenge, this adds to the shortness.
Overall, I would recommend this game, especially as an introduction to later games in the series, but due to its length, it probably isn't worth full price.
I recommend this game!

This review is based on the full game which I recently completed.
This is a classic adventure game where you walk around, visiting different locations, solving puzzles and collecting clues and information.
I liked:
~ the decent length of the game, well worth the cost and hassle of the huge download!!
~ the story, which was interesting enough to keep me wanting to play til the end.
~ the graphics and variety of locations that you visit in the game, which were spread over several countries and were different and well designed.
~ the puzzles, which for the huge majority were logical and possible to solve if you thought about it a while.
I didnt like
~ one or two puzzles, which were illogical and caused me to consult a walkthrough. Even using the solution, I was thinking- what?!??
~ the lack of direction at the very start, this could be off-putting to some players. I used a walkthrough at the very start to learn the basic controls and felt a tutorial wouldn't go amiss, especially in such a long game.
In general, this is an excellent game which I would recommend to most people, although some parts might be easier with a walkthrough.
I recommend this game!

This review is based on the full game which I completed recently.
I liked
~ the graphics which were very good
~ the storyline, which kept me interested right up to the end and made me play on!
I didnt like
~ the lack of help or a tutorial. I nearly gave up at the start of the game as I wasnt sure what to do or where to go. I didnt even know how to save or access the menu. At several points I had to refer to a walkthrough as I got frustrated trying to figure out what to do, or I was stuck too long.
~ Above all, the incredibly slow movement of the character really irritated me, as I felt it slowed down the gameplay unnecessarily and especially where you have to go back and forth to solve a puzzle, this gets tedious fast. It also seems out of place, as several times it might be like- hurry to do something- and then you try to move the character and its his customary slowww stroll across the screen!!! A pity.
Overall, I felt the game was slow paced and took a while to get going. There is a lot of dialogue, but after the first few instances, I skipped through it using subtitles to find out what's happening. Once I got the hang of it, I enjoyed the game and would recommend it to certain people, but I wouldnt say its for everyone.
I recommend this game!

This review is based on the full game which I just completed.
I liked
~the graphics, which were always good and sometimes beautiful. Together with the music they created a suspenseful, eerie atmosphere. Some of the hidden object scenes were a bit dark but I felt it was appropriate and added challenge
~the story, which was interesting and kept me going til the end
~the size of the game area. Unlike other games of this type, there were a number of areas to explore or unlock, right up until the end of the game
~the length, which I felt was good, not dragged out or too short.
I didnt like
~aspects of the gameplay. A few of the mini-games were illogical and I dont enjoy going back and forth as much as is necessary in parts of this game.
Overall, this to me is a classic hidden object game, where you walk around completing hidden object scenes and solving puzzles in order to progress. In this respect it doesnt disappoint, offering a good level of challenge and a respectable amount of gameplay time. I recommend this game, especially as a special offer (I got it as a daily deal) it is excellent value
I recommend this game!

This review is based on the full version of the game which I have just completed.
I liked
~the cinematic style of the game- it is like being in an episode of CSI, where the other characters talk directly to you
~the storyline was different, although a little darker than other games, it kept your interest and I wanted to keep playing
~the mini-games were fun and relevant to the game (like looking for fingerprints, 'extracting' DNA, registering footprints etc)
~the level of challenge was good, if sometimes illogical
I didnt like
~aspects of the gameplay which were illogical, like having to click on random items or having to do certain things which didnt make sense to me. I had to resort to a walkthrough at several points to find out what to do so that the game would let me progress
~the overall length which was very short, especially for a large file game (although this is no doubt due to the excellent cinema quality graphics). This is the main reason I am only giving 3 stars as the game itself is worth 4 stars, but I think there are longer games (of the same quality) out there for the same price.
Overall I did enjoy this game and would recommend it (especially if you can get it on special offer as I did), but be prepared for the experience to be cut short just as you are really getting into it!
I recommend this game!

This game only took me a few hours to complete which was a shame and the reason I gave it a low challenge level. Maybe this would make it too easy/short for other gamers??? I found the puzzles generally easy, but it was a good game to pick up and play for a short spell. I enjoyed the story which moved along well and was interesting, the characters were likable and the graphics were good
I recommend this game!
