I am a huge fan of the work of Enki Bilal and Benoit Sokal, so I was really excited to see that White Bird had published a game based on the work of this extremely gifted graphic artist.
But the game itself is very disappointing. Yes, the graphics are gorgeous in every way, but the gameplay and the storyline do not honour Enki Bilal, by far.
The most annoying thing in the game is, that you get killed over and over again, trying to figure out what you should do in order to go on. If this is the way of the dev's to lengthen the gaming time of a game without real challenges, then it is a very tedious one.
I would like to recommend the game for its graphic qualities, but I suggest you spend your money on the books by Enki Bilal... you will get so much more satisfaction out of it.
I don't recommend this game.

I have been running around this "town" for hours on end, I have been covered with poo, I have been annoyed and abused by a squinting policeman with warts who found everything about my person suspicious or obnoxious, I have been lugging around tons and tons of objects, I have met the most incredible bunch of loonies... and did I love it? YES, I DID!
And don't ask yourself what the storyline is, because there isn't any. Just spend as much time as you can with this bunch of crazies, before you get to meet the mayor. Amuse yourself, have fun, don't worry about where you are going to end up next, and if you haphazerdly grab another piece of poo, go take a dive in the ocean... LOL.
By the way, why issue a warning on this game? It is nothing but good old innocent fun.
I recommend this game!

Sorry, but this game didn't impress me at all, although the beginning was quite promising. At first, I was enchanted by the superb graphics, the beautiful soundtrack, the interesting puzzles and the interactive HOS.
But then, everything - except for the graphics - went downward. The music became repetitive and annoying, the puzzles were so easy that it was just a matter of seconds to solve them and there was absolutely no more challenge in finding objects and knowing how to put them to use. Most of the time you would need something and find it around the corner, in a most unlikely and illogical place... but finding it, you did, because there was nothing else to do.
Moreover, the game glitched, especially in the scenes with "a lot of" movement... it even froze my computer twice.
Sorry, this game isn't worth a CE... at best, you could buy it in a SE as a daily deal, to while away some hours on a dreary, rainy day... because more than a few hours, it will not take you to finish off this CE.
I don't recommend this game.

Midnight Mysteries is a good series, and this particular installment is absolutely TOPS.
It has it all... excellent graphics in a lot of different scenes, spooky atmosphere with a storyline to make your mouth water, challenging puzzles... I found it as enjoyable as reading a good detective novel. By the way, I particularly liked the funny twist with all the historical characters appearing as ghosts.
Do I recommend this game? Yes, yes, YES!
Devil on the Mississippi definitely is one of the games on my play-again-list.
I recommend this game!

I thorougly enjoyed playing this game, not because I like dogs, which I do, but because it is a very good game indeed.
The graphics are beautiful in all their details and the storyline is quite interesting. Everything breathes a certain melancholic, fatalistic atmosphere.
There are many different scenes and the map comes in very handy to make you travel quite easily from one scene to another.
There are some HOS, but not too many. Sometimes, you can be at a loss what to do next, but then the hint button points you in the right direction, which is something I like very much in a game. It doesn't spoil the game, because in the end, it is up to you to figure out what to do in the scene where you have been directed you... unless you really don't know what to do, in which case the hint button will finally put your nose onto it.
The only reason why I don't give the game a straight 5 stars is because I feel the logic to what you should do with certain items is sometimes lacking...
The bonus game also came as a pleasant surprise to me, because it really continues the game and does not merely serve as something extra, but totally superfluous.
Add this to the length of the main game and you are sure to spend more than just a few hours before you come to the final scene.
I recommend this game!

Third installment of the Agon series and afer finishing it, I am impatiently waiting for the next one.
This is one of those games that doesn't consider gamers to be stupid nitwits.
The graphics are beautiful and the puzzles are challenging. I really got immersed in the game and identified myself with the professor; This was MY investigation and I had to get on top of it.
Those of you who hate to think or even to put your mind at work, don't buy this game. Those of you who love a challenge and who don't want to race through a game at Formula-1 speed by clicking away in all directions, immerse yourselves in the enchanting atmosphere of southern Spain.
I recommend this game!

I regret to see that this installment of Agon only has two reviews to its name... I suspect that this is the result of a very disappointing first episode.
But this is more like it! Agon is no HOG... exploration, brain-teasing, deduction, searching, association ... all this is part of this great adventure and exploration game.
Come on, get into it and put those little gray brain cells to work. It will make you live longer without getting Alzheimer disease. From Lapland to Madagascar, you will live through a host of challenging moments.
After the disappointing first episode, I got hooked on Agon and I even got reconciled with the irritating voice of the professor.
I recommend this game!

Don't judge the Agon series by this first episode, which is more like an introduction... and a disappointing one at that: you just walk around in the building, trying to gather information, listening to the boring voice of the main character, and then, all of a sudden, it's finished.
And that's it: rather boring and way too short.
But OK, the next installments are so much better... so, yes, you have to buy this one if you want to go on playing the whole series.
That is why I give only 2 stars, but please, this counts only for this game... my ratings of the next episodes are much higher.
I recommend this game!

To me, this really is the most boring game I ever spent my time on. I really don't see how anyone can like this game. It's just one HOS after the other and you go back and back and back again to the same scenes to search for the same objects.
Even the idea of restoring a derelict castle to dazzling fairytale like beauty gets annoying after a while.
Every now and then, a puzzle is thrown in, which you can solve in a matter of seconds.
Don't spend your money and time on this one, unless you really, really, really enjoy being bored by HOS.
I don't recommend this game.

Yes, this is much more an adventure game than a HOG. There are few HOS and they all contain interactive elements, which is much to my liking.
I like the storyline, the graphics, the many different scenes and the length of the game.
The level is quite challenging; you have to do a lot of thinking and the associations between different elements is not always very evident ... by the way, this brings me to one of the drawbacks of the game: some associations are downright farfetched, and at certain moments, you are quite at a loss what to do next. In these moments, the hint button is quite handy, although I regret that the button just tells you what to do next. I would rather prefer the hint button to point you in the right direction and let you figure out for yourself what to do.
This is why I don't give the game 5 stars.
I recommend this game!
