What a shame that this superb game only has 6 reviews to praise its merits... and merits, it has: Beautiful Myst-lilke graphics, an enchanting storyline, good puzzles and just the right amount of HOS, good length... I adored wandering around in the scenes of Dream Chronicles, eager to discover more and more, and I didn't want the game to end. Luckily, there are a number of sequels - which, although being very good, do not always match up to this first. But you always can play The Chosen Child over and over again, without getting tired of it.
I really enjoyed playing this one. I am not in for lots of HOS and for me, this game just had the right amount of those. Moreover, the HOS were not junk piles in which you have to look for a needle in a haystack. So, I didn't feel annoyed when I had to tackle a HOS... and in case of need, the hint button recharges quite rapidly, even in expert mode. The puzzles were rather on the easy side; I would have liked them a bit more challenging. The graphics are very good and travelling around the island is easy, especially with the very handy hint button which is quite helpful to point you in the right direction. I also liked the storyline, especially with the esoteric and masonic references thrown in. The length of the game is OK... playing relaxed in the expert mode, I took me about one day to complete, which is quite a pleasant way to spend a windy, rainy day. :-) I don't give it 5 stars, because it didn't give me that WOW feeling, but all in all it is a very good buy.
When I bought this game, I first got frustrated because I had difficulties finding out how the controls worked, even after disinstalling and reinstalling the game a number of times. But then I tried installing the game on another computer and everything worked just fine. Seems something was wrong with the installations on the first computer. Anyway, once I got under way, I really got into the game. I have to confess that I very much like this kind of game where you have to explore different locations, follow a storyline, combine objects from an inventory to find solutions to given problems or situations. And I am definitely not into games that are nothing more than a tedious succession of HOS - sadly enough, I have to comply with HOS in most so-called adventure games. Luckily, none of these in NiBiRu. So I could gladly follow the logic of the story, finding my way through the different locations. The graphics are good, the puzzles are challenging enough to keep you busy, the storyline is interesting ... yes, I liked this game and would recommend it to anyone who likes Syberia-style games.
As much as I liked the Queen of Spades (played the game twice), as much I got bored by The Bronze Horseman. Let's call it "just a sequel" to a good game. The reason for that is, that there really are too much HOS. I like a good challenge in a game; not that I want to run around with tons of objects in my inventory, desperately looking around for what to do with them... but stumbling upon an interactive scene, telling me that I require this or that, and then immediately finding a HOS where that particular object will appear, is a bit too much to my liking, especially if this happens time and time again. All right, the graphics are good ... but the music quickly gets very annoying. And yes, I have encountered worse games than this one, but still... I wonder what the next sequel will bring, although I will have second and third thoughts about buying that one.
Once upon a time in the small, undistinguished town of Silentville people started disappearing. Help uncover the mystery behind these disappearances and save the town from a curse!
I totally loved this game. Off late, I got fairly disaoppinted with HO/Adventure games that turned out to be packed with HOS. But none of this for Silentville. It has a good challenge, good hint system, beautiful graphics, fun storyline, good length ... Moreover, I loved the gorgeous map that lets you travel from location to another in an instant. In short, if you want to spend a weekend, teasing your brain and enjoying a fantastic game, this is the one for you. I can only say: please BF, more of this.
This is what I what I seek in a good game: challenge, good graphics, good music ... and Azada, In Libro has it all. I have been a Myst afficianado ever since the first installment of that mythical series. Later, I played Lighthouse and every difficult, hard to hard adventure game that appeared on the market. Sadly, nowadays these are hard to find. I am not really into HOG. My first contact with these was Shutter Island, and I asked myself: "What is this?" OK, now I can live with the presence of some HOS in a game, but when I get the feeling that the developers run out of inspiration - especially at the end of a game - and chain on HOS after HOS, I get bored and annoyed. But Azada, In Libro is abolutely top notch. No HOS after HOS, but clever walking around, searching, finding, thinking, associating things ... I LOVE IT! I haven't finished the game yet, and, honestly, I don't want it to end. I send my warmest congratulations to the developers of this game and I really look forward to the next installment, although I fear it will be difficult for them to keep up with this quality.
