Oh my goodness, another Puppet fiasco,. same old same old. I do really think ERS should put this series to rest! I once critiqued the annoying "YES" that seems to reverberate after each item that is found, albeit hidden object scenes or simply adding the item to your inventory...what is the enhancement of this, to me it is pure and simply annoying, do we really need cudos for finding these things. Enough said, I just think this series is tired and I expect more from ERS. And to make matters worse I fix the wheel on the carriage while the Doctor watches the wounded soldier!!! Give us all a break ERS and get some new material!!

I am critiquing this game in a different way than most...I love the Grim Facade series, they truly are well done and entertaining. I also love ERS , graphics are always good, great characters, interesting and fun game play etc. However, I have no idea why they have to add this voice or voices that echo "YES" after you find things (hidden object, during game play itself). It is so annoying and distracts from the overall game. I have mentioned this before in my review of other games and quite frankly am surprised that no one else has made any comments. In my opinion it adds nothing to the game, story wise, intrigue wise or for that matter any wise!! Sorry!!!
I recommend this game!

Sorry folks, I guess I am just getting bored with this series. There just doesn't seem to be enough to keep me interested. Yes, the graphics are good, the music is appropriate, the characterization is well done, all the right stuff to make this game a hit, but not so for me. Sometimes after 7 games in a series one might want to leave well enough alone and try for something new and innovative, but no, we have an 8th Puppet Show, come on!?!? I couldn't even finish the trial, I had had enough! Sorry, because all the Puppet Show games are well done, this being no exception, wonderfully put together and executed but for some reason I just feel that the subject matter is tired. Other serial games such as the "Haunted Hotel" ones continue to be exciting and mysterious enough to keep the creative juices flowing, so what happened to this one I can't quite put my finger on. So, that being said my final comment can only be, try it for yourself!

Okay, so perhaps there is some copycatting and yes some questionable realities, but hey aren't we into these games to have fun? And that is just what this game did for me. I loved all of it, the imagination, the realism and the execution of a story that may not be original but for a computer game, hey, kudos to the developers. I was on the edge of my seat during the storm feeling that every move I had to make needed to be done now!!! Talk about anxiousness! To me it was real, more real than any other game I have played! I do not feel the need to critique the mini games or HOS (although they too were great), the game itself just entertained. There were times however when I hated the interruption of a mini game or HOS, I just wanted to stay with the excitement of the plot! Why get analytical over something that just grabs you and takes you in, please give this one a try, it's gonna get ya!

Well, yes, at first this game appears old, yes, it seems slow, and yes, it seems weathered & boring...but wait, it turns out to be nothing of the sort!! I was about to give up with this one, the music was slow, boring and just plain dull in the beginning, but as I progressed in the game it's low key subtleness kept me going and allowed me to focus on the game play & story. I agree that the HOS were a bit challenging in that the objects were often hard to find, but because this game seems old school in comparison to the new releases of late I think that was a wise move on the developers part. Small & hard to find HO are not necessarily a sign of old & boring games!! Storyline was not necessarily original but the excitement in jumping from scene to scene to different areas was not boring to say the least. Does Ellie find her Father, and does it all sort itself out well we shall see. I think this game is worth a try, you may be pleasantly surprised! Oh, and not to speak of, there are some collectibles in store!
Wow, it has been a long time since a game like this has crossed our paths!! I loved its originality, the presentation and execution in my opinion were superb. It was easy to become totally absorbed in every aspect while awaiting the final outcome. I was most impressed with the fact that there was very little hand holding, you are required to think more about what to do next and at times even think outside the box in trying to figure out what you were being asked to do. There was definitely lots of challenges so if that's what you are looking for you will love this game! The hidden object scenes were very interactive and sometimes even a bit difficult. Puzzles unique and really made you think!!! No easy solving there. Your little cat buddy is cute and even a little comical when he shakes his head 'no' when you ask him to do something that isn't what he's to do. There were achievements and collectibles which isn't the norm for SE games but again a nice extra. I liked the real person aspect being mixed in with the rest of the graphics, it seemed to bring the story more to life. I could go on & on about all the things I liked in this game but I think you should just check it out for yourself cuz I think you're in for a real treat!

Ya know, every so often a game comes along that is just pure fun! Not too difficult, easy maneuverability, colorful characters and lots of variety in the things to do. Oh, and not to mention how you don't have to tax your brain trying to locate all the CE extras, they just seemed to pop up and inform you as you moved along in the game, Sure the storyline isn't new or original but there are a lot of games out there that are repetitive and resemble one another. That being said I think sometimes we need to give more kudos to the Developers who crank out game after game for our pleasure and entertainment. Where would we be without them? While the other reviews described the game itself in more detail, I just wanted to add that I had a lot of fun playing this one, it is a wonderful game for those dreary Winter weekends. Try it for yourself and see what you think.

Sorry, this game is boring, music is boring, story progression is boring, HOS scenes boring with no originality as is with the newer games so, where did this game come from. It's like it was pulled from the archives!!! I lasted 33 minutes in the trial and I was done. With all that is out there today, why waste your time on a game that has no voice overs, no realistic dialogue, a story line with no originality and music that is depressing. How is one supposed to get into the substance of this game, if in fact it has any. Just a huge disappointment and should never have been anything but a daily or weekly deal, even if that. Sorry, I was not impressed, but as per other reviews maybe I missed something. For now it is a definite NO!!

Well, this game rather puzzles me? I think it is brilliant in its originality as opposed to most of the games that have been offered this year, but it just didn't live up to the same originality in its delivery! Margaret, a scientist who loves working with Mr. Thomson who as she believes is a scientific genius sends for her brother, all excited to share in a new creation that could save the world. Once he arrives, Margaret is no where to be found and you have a floundering naive Butler and an annoying, pompous Mr. Thomson who basically dismisses you. There are definitely strange things going on, and you are uncomfortable, but you are now on your own and are determined to find Margaret... thus the story commences. I have to be honest, the Harlequin helper or whatever she really is doesn't do anything to enhance the storyline, in fact she is annoying, I would rather do what she does myself!! The puzzles are a tad too easy (in my opinion) and do not offer much challenge, HOS are somewhat better, but not so much so than other games of late. The fact that you can't access the museum or boudoir during the trial is disappointing. Why that was withheld is puzzling? However if you are going to do that then the game better be super good, so much so that gamers are not bothered by that absence. In this case it made me less likely to buy the CE. That combined with the less than wow factor in the regular game play eliminated me from purchasing the CE. On the up side the graphics were great, clear, colorful and realistic, too bad the lip sync wasn't as spot on! Oh dear, this game has so much potential, it has that thinking out of the box intrigue, yet somehow somebody kinda rushed to get it out there without fine tuning what could have been a smash hit. Sorry, I did like it, and recommend you give it a try as we all get a different perspective. For me if I was to purchase I would wait for the SE.

Well, to be honest I was somewhat disappointed with this one as opposed to the others in the series. Good enough story line, always a hint of mystery, precision to detail and a wonderful ambiance to its presentation, however I found a slight element of boredom in its progression. While the music is appropriate, after a while it becomes mundane, same old same old while the story just listfully ambles on. A very slow moving game with little or no extras, morphing or collecting of objects that most CEs offer. (at least what I found in the trial) Hidden object scenes reminded me of the Dark Parable series only done with silhouettes that emerge into an item useful later on. I could comment on the storyline but the game intro basically says it all. Mini games were different and offered some interesting challenges but again something just didn't seem to connect. It was more like a Harlequin romance which after a while becomes boring unless you add some spice and originality. I am at a bit of a loss with this one, but perhaps more than a 90 min. trial would reveal something more that at this point I am not seeing. That being said, I have always been a fan of the Dana Knightstone series so to be fair I still rated it at 4. See what you think. Maybe somewhere I missed something. Disappointing, but yet I cannot help but recommend you check it out and decide for yourself.
