This would actually be a fun game to play: A FROG (which means that you don't search for hidden objects, but that you receive a list of pictures, and you search for the fragments of it# in the style of "The Treasures of Mystery Island". The idea is good, the storyline nothing new, but entertaining enough, but the problem with this game are really the visuals. The images are somewhat grainy, which leads to a lot of more random clicking when searching for tiny objects.
The music can get on your nerves quickly #repetetive), and the level of challenge is average.
Overall, I would have really liked to play this game, since I like good FROGs, but this was just to hard to see. I gave up after the free trial time.
I don't recommend this game.

"King Mania" is a fast-paced attack game in which it is your task to conquer your enemy's castle #and villages# and thus be the only one who survives.
The pros:
- 3 different difficulty modes #I played standard, which is in the middle, and it didn't pose much of a challenge#
- 3 different options for details in graphic. The graphics are fine - if you have a really fast computer, you can get shadows and wind etc. Not too many details, though: You have the villages, the castles, and the figures. All of them are centralized in their place, so outside of the already existing villages / castles etc. there is not much to see. Some of the characters such as the village monster are quite fun, the details for the castles etc. could be better, the ones for the landscape as well.
The cons:
- gets repetetive: conquer the villages, towers, mines and castles. over and over again.
- music is repetetive
- if you are looking for a strategy game, this is not it, since it moves too quickly to let you build up a proper strategy of defense or attack
Overall:
If you like conquering games and you are sort of interested in strategy, but a slow stragety game simply takes you too long to see the outcome or you make a mistake and there is no way to correct it again, this is your game. You can throw soldiers, monsters and fireballs at your target, and if it doesn't work ot the first time, you can try not even half a minute later again. The level of challenge wasn't that high. You can upgrade all your buildings several times and thus unlock new options.
Fun, and an easy way to waste a couple of hours. Not a buy for me, though, since it repeats to much.
Review is based on the demo - I would recomment trying it out before buying it.
I recommend this game!

"Goddess Chronicles" takes you on a journey to become a goddess yourself. To achieve this, you have to search scenes for hidden and fragmented objects both. Once you've collected the objects, you have to solve with all of them a puzzle to gain a specific power you'll use in future search scenes.
The game and story line are average; however, the challenge the game poses and its use of the found objects make it a fun game to play and will keep you busy for quite a while. The objects are often hard to find, and several times you'll have to move other objects before you can spot them. The visuals are quite nice - it is drawn in a stylized cartoon style, similar to "Mystery of Mortlake Mansion". Bright colours, bold outlines. Many objects are small and hard to find, good challenge.
One of the biggest challenges for me was finding the way out of each scene: Even when completed a search scene, you can't move on #and the game won't automaticaly move you on# when you don't find the exit or the things yo need to manipulate it in order to open it. Hints don't work for this, so this can be tricky. I enjoyed this challenge.
The smaller puzzles and games in between #memory, matching tiles, ...# are very easy and can also be skipped. Hint button refreshes after 1 minute, but you can find small pearls in the scenes you can also use for hins. Only for the objects, though - the exit is your challenge.
One level of difficulty, so beginner players might find it too difficult, since you can't adjust the mode.
I recommend this game for players who like stylized visuals and enjoy a mix of hidden objects #all with pictures, no lists# and fragmented objects.
I recommend this game!

Generally, I love all the dark parables games, and I have bought and playes (and re-played) all of them. However, this particular one doesn't live up to the expectations for a variety of reasons.
For those who don't know these games: They are all HOGs with a fairy-tale like plot (somewhat dark#, and you search for fragments of the hidden object rather than having a written list. The graphics are usually really strong, the music atmospheric and nice, and the plot involved.
The reasons why I didn't like "The Red Riding Hood Sisters:
- The progress is rather unintuitive: It is very unclear where you have to go where and when #and the map doesn't help, since it only shows in which regions there is a main task or a searchable area, nothing more). You often have to look for characters in places, which leads to a lot of random running around. This means that you either consult the guide often, or you're going to waste hints. Not good - this was much better in the other dark parables games.
- The graphics. Yes, they are good and clear, but all of the female characters are dressed in costumes that probably are supposed to be sexy, but portray the women as objects of male desire. I was, to be honest, quite offended.
- The story is much weaker this time, and often, the additional characters take over so that you as the detective just stand by.
- The game is also somewhat shorter than the previous ones.
What was good was the level of challenge for the searchable scenes. Also, the bonus game is appropriate #whereas it also lacks a little direction).
Overall, a disappointment with a slightly sexist touch, judging the way the female characters are dressed. I don't recommend this dark parables game.
I don't recommend this game.

"Botanica" is a hidden object game that gives the hidden object scenes a twist: most of the objects you have to search are not just in a junk pile and out in plain sight, but you need to manipulate other things in the scene in order to find them. This makes the HOG scenes fun and more challenging than usual. The best thing about "Botanica" are the visuals: They are very beautiful, and it looks like you entered a very green fantasy planet. However, the story line didn't convince me - the usual trapped in other world, search and help friends, ... As an adult player, I also had the feeling that the story line and visuals were rather aimed at teenage players #or even younger#, since you often mount an animal to proceed to the next scene, and it seemed childish and fairy-tale-like. The mini games were very easy and didn't need skipping, even in the harder mode.
Personally, it was not my style, but who likes fairies and fantasy will like this game. Also, I liked the twist on the HOG scenes, so I would recommend it.
I recommend this game!

I found "The great Tree" to be a game that has a rather high repetition facor and mostly focuses on the player having to move the mouse around to catch small glowing points while avoiding bugs. The higher the level, the more the bugs, so it can get challenging if you proceed far enough. However, there is very little variation, and after a while this gets boring. The bugs are varied, and sometimes you need to "save" some bewitched objects, but it is not enough to keep me playing even through the whole demo. The visuals are beautiful, but overall, the game is not that gripping. There is no real quest, no path, no difference except that the background picture changes and there are more bugs. Not my cup of tea.
I don't recommend this game.

I don't recommend this game.

This game is extremely repetetive and alternates between two games: The "main game" is to move the box with the frozen prince to the exit. If you shift it over an edge, you lose. The challenge builds very slowly, and it seems to be rather easy to win. The 2nd game is "pushing marbles" where you have to decide on the angle and strength with which you push, and who pushes all other marbles out first has won. Since you always get to go first, there is no real challenge to win. Overall, this is a very easy game with the usual story line. The visuals could be better - seems to be slightly outdated and child-like - and the music gets quickly annoying. I gave up on the demo 10 minutes in. Two difficulty levels are available.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a fun strategy game that has just the right level of challenge. You have to battle evil forces that plague the countryside. With each battle you win, you unlock new battle grounds, and sometimes new powers in the form of cards. For each battle, you have to select your cards. Each card has a certain amount of life points, battle range and strength of attack. Select carefully and position them in the right spot. The animation is fine - shooting arrows etc. over the selected cards, and the map is cute. The music brings the righht flair to the whole game. Highly recommended, based on the demo. I had to replay many of the levels several times to win, and sometimes win other battles first in order to gain new cards.
I recommend this game!
