Found this game in my collection unplayed so spent the weekend playing it.
Rarely play a game without a hint button or a map but played this one without either, the strategy guide helped on occasion. I'm not a romantic but did enjoy collecting the roses, a bit of fun.
The only gripes for me are misnamed objects in the HOG's and an incredibly slow loading skip button on the mini games. Other than that excellent in all ways.
Loved everything about this game; sound, colour, graphics and the size of the tiles. Mini games were a delightful bonus. If I have to have a criticism, it would be that you don't know how many playable tiles you have left before you run out of moves.
Played the demo (went by quickly) and then bought it. I found the graphics good, music good and I loved the way the eyes on the spiders boggled when you got them...
My only gripe (so far) is that the dialogue between the two characters before each game starts is faster than the written word that goes with it. Consequently you're left waiting - yawn - and there's no 'skip' button.
A small price to pay for a very enjoyable game though.
First and foremost got to say how much I enjoyed the music. I found it so relaxing which is more than I found the game. Trying to uncover all the gold tiles in 'x' amount of moves I found frustrating. I was forever trying to plan my moves ahead and even doing that I was always one move over the allotted amount. However, the games does still continue and there is no time limit that I noticed. I will still recommend Christmas Mahjong 2 as it's a sweet little game for the right person.
Initially I wasn't sure about this game as it was just so busy and I couldn't seem to get my head around it. By the end of the demo which was 90 minutes I knew the game was a must have. In fact, for an old brain like mine it might just help to rejuvenate my remaining flagging brain cells.
I'll leave all the technical stuff about game description to the experts.
Can't begin to say how much I enjoyed playing this game, it had everything that I look for; good story line, good graphics, music that didn't make me tear my hair out, mini games that I could actually do and interesting HOG's. Plus it had a map which is something I tend to need in a game.
Great Game ! Loved the spooky music and the scary noises when you pop a coloured tile or break chains. I played on 'piece of cake' mode so no pressure just 100% enjoyment.
I found it best to play several games on the trot to build up plenty of coins to buy lots of things for the garden in one hit. As you go further into the game it seems to take longer to build up a store of money and not long to spend it with the good selection of items from the store.
Just want to say how much I enjoyed playing this game. It was offered cheap and not one to miss a bargain I snapped it up.
Yes the storyline was simple but nonetheless I was hooked and played the game in a couple of days. I've always found elephant games to be good and this one was no exception. And I didn't get lost once ....
