I thought 'Castle of Shadows' was money well-spent....if anything this was even better! The storyline was interesting and graphics though a tad on the darker side were truly great. The game was very long and had so many twists and turns and new areas to explore that each time I thought I was nearing the end of the game I discovered yet another hidden doorway! While not at all intrusive the music in the game was pleasant background music and wove itself into the scene. The only thing I didn't like were the challenging (for the most part anyway) mini-games so I did use the skip button on some of these. On the whole however this was an excellent game and well worth the money..
This game is so typical of what I have come to expect from Elephant games......scenery is excellent, graphics great and the story is a little different to others but riveting just the same. It was quite a long game made that much shorter by me as I skipped some of the mini-games which were mostly fairly challenging. I thoroughly recommend this game!
What a great little game! Not too hard and moves along very smoothly. There is no feeling that you might have overlooked an important item and would have to go back and rectify that...just a nice easy little game. The only complaint I had was that some of the mini-games were just that little bit time consuming and so I tended to skip a few of these. The graphics, while not as true to life as some of the other games, were still good....music was not intrusive at all. This is my first 'Echoes of the Past' games and if this is a good indication of the quality then it will definitely not be my last!
This review is based on playing the CE version and not just a demo...(I really can't understand why people give reviews on the demo only.....to me the demo has the best scenes of that game and is not a true indication of the quality of the game)
This gem, which is also the first Collector's Edition of a game that I have played, kept me enthralled for hours and considering I play roughly an hour each time, that turned out to be quite a long time. The game is set in a beautiful old mansion and is a very long game ...one of the longest I have played.. though I guess the bonus game which in itself is great... could account for some of that time. The background scenery in the mansion was stunning and of course there were the usual twists and turns common to every game by these makers. The storyline was excellent and the graphics superb.... not too colourful but not too dark either. In some of the other games by these makers the colours have tended to be a bit on the garish side but Grim Tales The Legacy was an exception to that rule. Mini-games ...of which there were quite a few....were for the most part quite challenging and I confess to using the skip option a few times. Hidden object scenes were plentiful and not too hard if you looked around a fair bit. At one stage I was sure I had not picked up something I should have done and was unable to move forward in the scene with the cat in the window. I was getting a bit frustrated and was sure I would have to start all over again after various trips to the walkthrough did not help. However I soon found that I had not clicked on the right spot so that was easily rectified. This game was easily one of the best that I have played and I thoroughly recommend it.!
To start with I only bought this game based on the number of fairly good reviews. But after playing Haunted Manor Queen of Death by the same creators of this game, I was very disappointed and couldn't understand why Lord of Mirrors received such good reviews for the most part. I found that the graphics themselves were quite good but the hidden object games while pretty simple were far too numerous. Also there didn't seem to be all that much of a storyline. I wondered when the initial HOGS were going to finish and the actual game start and couldn't believe that that was all there was to it when I did finish the game....not impressed at all.
I thought initially that I had wasted my money when I bought this game as the graphics weren't the best I'd seen but I persisted with the game and I am glad I did! It was a very long game and the storyline was great and well-presented. Some of the hidden object scenes required a good bit of concentration on my part as objects were cleverly hidden. The music throughout especially that of 'Spooksville' by Ross Milligan which was mainly heard in the HOS really set the tone for the rest of the story. This game provided me with hours of fun so I am looking forward to playing others in this series.
This game was riveting from the word go! I have to admit it did take me several attempts to get things right but I have finally finished the game. The puzzles in the game were a bit on the tough side and I tended to use the 'skip' button a bit. Also the Hidden Object Scenes were quite challenging and made you look harder. Graphics were great...also the story line was good and the kind of thing I prefer in this type of game. All in all an excellent job and I can't wait for further Hidden Object games from this developer !
This game had it all...great storyline that takes you to another dimension! Not too many characters and different worlds to explore. There are quite a few twists and turns, plus the lovely background music which fits the scenes really well. Hidden Object Scenes are plentiful and mini-games are challenging but not too hard. This has to be one of the better games I have ever played. Along with Elephant games, Daily Magic and Mariaglorum... 8thfloor really delivers! I was looking forward to playing more HO games by 8thFloor however this seems to be their only hidden object game . In short this was money well spent and one of the best games I've ever played!
I loved this game! Great scenery, great storyline, music was not intrusive and fitted the game quite well I thought. I don't always play the full game straightaway but play it for about an hour each time. Having said that though I did find this game fairly long which was how I liked it. In short this game ticked all the boxes for me!
I absolutely loved this game and found it to be fairly long contrary to some other reviews. However I did not play it all in one sitting so that might account for the length of the game. The storyline was great and mini-games not too hard. Graphics and scenery were just right. The ambience and smoothly flowing story along with the lack of too many characters were just what I like in a game. The game does leave itself open for a sequel but If this is only the start of a new series from Mariaglorum (whose other games I have enjoyed also) then I can't wait for the rest!
