This game has a great, eerie atmosphere, but is very short and is overwhelmed with 15 puzzles. If it hadn't been for all of the puzzles, you could finish this game in less than an hour. The puzzles can be skipped and some were so time consuming and annoying, I did skip them.
It has 11 HOS, many of those repeated scenes. I didn't care for that. It was difficult to find some of the items, but if you right click, it brings up a small magnifier that I didn't think was very good.
There are 4 different play modes for your pleasure of play and also a profile.
There are 18 morphs in the game and it indicates when you have found one and how many found. The map will also show you which scenes contain them.
Hint fills quickly, but has that annoying, "There is nothing to do here now." It does not direct you, you are on your own to figure things out and going to the map will be of help if you need to.
The map has the option of transporting you that is useful as you have to go back and forth between scenes at times. It has indicators as to where you are and if there are tasks to do.
Scenes were also very slow to load sometimes.
I wasn't very impressed with the game and feel it isn't worth the full price required. At a sale price, perhaps. It isn't a game I would play again because it was way too short and most of the time was spent doing puzzles.
There are plenty of older games on BF that are of this type and much better.
This is a very well made game by Elephant, with outstanding graphics and a great atmosphere. It is, however, a puzzle heavy game and I found that to be very tedious as it creates quite an imbalance in play. I skipped many of them because I don't like all of my time consumed with puzzles. The HOS were great and artistically done, but too few.
There are 5 Chapters with 4 to 6 scenes in each, no hand holding, but the hint fills quickly and is very helpful. This game will surely keep you busy. It is user friendly with a Chapter Map in the lower Left above the menu and has an indicator for the number of morphs in a scene and how many you have found. Chapter Menu also shows your location and tasks to complete. It is very self explanatory with these indicators and an asset to the game. This can also be accessed by clicking on the Star in the lower left. You may revisit any of the scenes.
There is no player profile, but you can reset the game if you like by exiting the scene to the Menu and either click on continue or reset when you hit the Play option. Often, I will play a demo and want to restart the game if I purchase it. So, there is no problem if you want to replay the game.
There are no voiceovers, and I found it ridiculous to find a voice volume in the Options. There aren't any modes of play, so you can play this at your leisure with no timers. Puzzles can be skipped.
Aside from too many puzzles, I liked this edition better than the first and would have liked a Bonus Chapter. It rather just ends abruptly. I hope in the future that Elephant will balance this type of game with more HOPS and not so many puzzles.
This game NEEDS a magnifier!!!! And I WILL NOT buy a game with a constant barking dog!!!!!! I had to go and mute the effects because of it. Who wants to listen to barking dogs? I DON'T!!!
It is colorful like a cartoon. It almost reminded me of a Dick and Jane first grade reading book. It is a poorly made game. No magnifier....no buy.
After 40 minutes of totally wasted time in this demo, the most pleasure I had was uninstalling it. Scenes are junk pile loaded with teeny tiny items and an utterly useless tiny magnifier. This game NEEDS a decent magnifier!!!!!!!
Hints took forever to fill and I had Easy Play mode. You can buy a faster hint fill with coins you earn, which I did, but when I had to use a hint too many times because it was just an eye strain to be using their blurry magnifier, I had more than enough of this aggravation. It took too long to get a scene completed and gave me a headache because of ridiculously obscured items.
The couple of puzzles I came across were ok and I noticed can be skipped. I did skip one because I didn't want to be wasting more time.
On my Windows 11 laptop, this worked fine, but on my Windows 10, all I got in the first scene was a black screen with a cursor and a list of items to collect, so couldn't go any further on that device.
This could have been a decent HOG, but instead, was a torture trip. It sure isn't worth even a sale price. They should be giving this one away, and even then, I wouldn't want it.
The music in most of the scenes did not work. It took enjoyment out of the game. Sound effects work, except they were very annoying with clicking computer keys, phones ringing, and someone coughing in the background, among other distracting noise. I ended up muting them at times. I would have much rather been without sound effects than the music.
I didn't care for this game in general and feel it was not as good as previous ones. The jigsaws were terrible and unattractive. Other puzzles were repetitive and one puzzle I loathe is the click and rotate to form the correct picture. With all the scenery being similar, it was a chore. I do enjoy the word finds.
Scenes were colorful and crowded. The locations info was interesting, but I found myself anxious to just get the game over with.
So far, this is my favorite VAPR. I enjoyed it so much, I played it twice. The second time was in Extreme mode so I could get all the achievements. I never played in Extreme before because I didn't want to be timed, but the timer only indicates how long it takes you to complete a scene, so no hurry or rush. I could just take my time and enjoy it as much as when I first played it.
Even though there were some scenes that were from other games, it didn't really bother me too much. A good time is still to be had.
Nobody does it better than Casual Arts and my only disappointment was when the game ended and also, the long wait for another edition.
It's one thing to have a challenge in finding items, and another when developers make it an anxiety producing impossibility to find anything. I had to use a magnifier in most of the 3 scenes I played and still couldn't find everything, not even that racoon in scene 3. Items are so small or so obscured that finding them without a click fest or a constant use of hints is futile.
You're supposed to find coins, never indicates how many or even how many you found. How are you supposed to find them in a mess of leaves or obscured behind all the junk they put in these scenes? You don't find out what you collected and what you didn't until the scene is completed. Then, if you want a complete score you have to do it all over again, straining yourself to find items.
You are also supposed to find question marks for extra hints....impossible in most instances...and why do you have to earn extra hints when you are supposed to have unlimited ones? Forget it!!!!
They have made a complete mess of this series with their trying to make it more challenging. I don't mind staying in a scene for a while, but this is ridiculous and a pain you know where. I don't want to have to use a magnifier all the time....especially when I can't even find anything with that!!!! It's stressful and a big strain on the nerves. It is exhausting!
I have all the others in this series and have always looked forward to them, but can tell you, I wouldn't want this if they gave it to me. What a shame and disappointment.
Extras include 3 Chapters, 5 scenes in each, 12 Wallpapers, Vintage Postcards that were cool. I think the post cards may be in the SE. You earn one for every chapter you play. Also, decorate only 3 rooms with earned coins that may be included in the SE. I didn't check that. There wasn't much offered to decorate. It could have been better, for sure.
Main Game: 6 Chapters, 5 scenes in each. In each Chapter is a HOS with 3 modes of play. You collect 3 coins in each mode and 3 fireworks. The fireworks will only be collected once during the 3 modes of play.
In every chapter is a Collect the Same items scene and 2 Spot the Differences. Then there are 2 puzzles that are variated in each chapter. Each of the puzzles have 2 modes, Easy and Hard except for the collect the same items (you only play that one time). You will earn stars for each game that you play and need 5 to progress to the next Chapter. All puzzles can be skipped.
I loved the festive fireworks. How energizing. I had to click on the scene they were in to progress, otherwise it seemed like they went on forever.
Most of the puzzles were fun. The only one I didn't like and skipped was the lining of animals in the Bonus content. In the jigsaws, the puzzle pieces were difficult to move and took some patience. The puzzle pictures are very vibrant and rich in color. I really liked the one with the colored row houses. My request to the developers is to please allow us to view all of the completed puzzles longer instead of rushing them away.
Although the extras are lacking as well as decorating only 3 rooms with a few items, I still enjoy these games and will look forward to the next one. They are definitely worth a sale price.
This is a peaceful and relaxing game with Extras of 10 Bonus levels, replay of 39 puzzles and an extra Bubble Shooter game. 14 Music and 18 Wallpapers.
Main game has 30 scenes in which you find 3 cats, 1 camera, and 1 paw print in each scene. When a camera is found, a lovely picture is taken and added to a folder that can only be accessed while in a hos scene in the lower left. It would be nice to have a special place provided to view these beautiful photos as well as their locations whenever we like. Also, when a paw print is found, you only get to see a flash of the animal, that' it. Would like to see a place for those, also, instead of now you see it and now you don't.
You collect coins during play and these are used to only buy puppies in the Gift Shop. This was extremely lacking.
Music is only in puzzles and I found some of it to be repetitious and monotonous. Of all the music tracks available, it would have been much more enjoyable to have more of a variety of music during the gameplay. I ended up muting it during many puzzles. The hos scenes only have background sounds of nature, which is peaceful, but some music would have been preferable, too.
After each hos scene, there is a puzzle that can be skipped if you want. There are a variety of puzzles, some of which are very time consuming, but enjoyable. The items in the hos scenes are fairly easy to find. There is a magnifier in the lower right, but is blurry. Most of the time is spent on the puzzles.
I have all the games in this series and have enjoyed them. I will continue to add future ones to my collection. They are good for some rest and relaxation.
This is the best one yet!!! Extras include 8 scenes, consisting of 6 HOS and 2 Puzzles. 8 Bonus Puzzles and 6 more Bonus Puzzles. 12 Wallpapers and 18 songs in Music Player. And of course, you have your Achievements.
Main game has 12, 4 scene pages with 28 very colorful hos and 20 puzzles. Puzzles can be skipped. You can replay any scene and puzzle as you like.
A great deal of work was put into this game and I thoroughly enjoyed playing it. I could have never made it through without the magnifier as items are at times so tiny and obscured. I was clicking around scenes and suddenly an item would disappear and it was so fast I didn't know what that item was. Slow it down for us, please.
Graphics are rich and colorful. Music is pleasant and is varied. Puzzles are fun and enjoyable. I loved finding the cats and dogs in each scene...and especially the yellow cat swap puzzle....beautiful picture.
I loved most of the scenes, and the toy scenes were a blast. It took me a loooong time to find all the items with the magnifier without a hint in most scenes, but that was ok because then I could appreciate and notice all of the intricate details. It was certainly a challenge.
One thing I didn't care for is the background noise of mixers going and the like....and also, please get rid of that barking dog. I muted the sound at times because it was a distraction and nerve wracking.
This is a very user friendly game and great for relaxation. I will surely replay this one. I always look forward to Avi Games and look forward to the next installation of Sweet Home. It won't be soon enough~
