This review is based on the completed SE game. Really liked the artwork; some of it was different and fun, some of it was more what I've seen in other games, but still very nice the whole way through. The HOS are appropriate to the settings; by that, I mean that there aren't a bunch of things in them that don't belong. Also, the items aren't impossible to find; the hint function refills fairly quickly.
The music, sound effects, and voice overs are all good. I usually play with the volume set fairly low, but I still think the audio adds to the game when it's good. It's disappointing to mute it entirely. There was a clever "cartoon drawing" feature for some of the voice overs, instead of just looking at a character talking at the player.
The mini-games are fun. Some of them seemed pretty easy. Most of them were challenging enough to be interesting. There were a couple that just did not make sense to me, even after making progress; I used the skip function even through I really don't like to.
There's a map available that shows where active areas are and where current objectives are. I really like this feature in games with a lot of locations; it saves a lot of needless running around because I can't remember where I'm at and how to get to where I need to be. (I'm very good at reading maps, but I'm not so good at creating a map inside my head.)
I think there's some replay value to the game, although maybe not as much as some others. That, along with the few mini-games that didn't make sense, is probably what keeps me from giving it a full 5 stars. Definitely 4 1/2 though. Enjoy!
I recommend this game!

My first reaction was, "Hmm, maybe not." The first few levels seemed slow and really kind of boring. But I kept playing until I got to about Level 17 or so, and it's getting better. So far, it's not as difficult as Sparkle 1. I think Sparkle 2 might be my favorite; I'll reserve judgment until I get to the end of this game. Even so, it's still very fun with interesting new challenges. There seem to be more double track levels at an earlier stage. The music is more upbeat, perhaps less mysterious than the first two games. The backgrounds are still lovely, with soft colors that add to the visual appeal but don't distract.
Give this one a try if you're a Sparkle fan, and don't make too hasty a decision if it seems not so great at first. I'm going to buy this one even though I haven't yet finished my free hour, on the basis of the first two being so much fun and the (slowly) increasing level of difficulty of this installment.
I recommend this game!

I'm not the biggest TM game fan, but there are a few I really like and this is one of them. If you've played and enjoyed Roads to Rome, you'll probably like this one too. There's some strategy involved here, figuring out what to do when and if you really do need to remove all the obstructions or if there might be another, less expensive way to reach your goals. The levels aren't necessarily increasing in difficulty as the game progresses; some of the lower levels took several tries for me to finish at the "gold" rating and some later ones took only one try.
There's not much in the way of storyline, but I play adventure games for that. The graphics and sound are maybe a little childlike, but not annoyingly so. The workers say "happy!" when one of them or a citizen is rescued. I find myself saying "hurry hurry hurry!" as the last worker is running along if I'm very close to beating the clock. The game is engaging and fun to play.
A quibble: I wish the circle indicating where I'm clicking to assign a task to a worker would NOT be green if I have no workers available. It's red if the way is blocked or there aren't yet enough resources available. But I did get used to keeping an eye out for worker availability.
Definitely worth an hour of play to see if you like it; I think you'll enjoy the challenge.
I recommend this game!

Wow, finally completed the last level. This is a challenging game that provides hours of play and, I think, will offer excellent replay value. It does appear rather childish at first, but don't let that fool you. This game requires logic, careful timing, and patience to make the right moves at the right moments to rescue all the little piggies, not get caught out by the wolves or security cameras, open gates and turn off lasers, and still make your escape. It is not timed, but it appears that the potential score for each level decreases the more tries taken to get through. The early levels are quite easy, but they get progressively more difficult. The music is repetitive and might be annoying to some; I thought it was cute and fun although I kept the volume at a low level. If you want a game that's fun but still makes you think, give this game a try. I bet you'll enjoy it!

I loved the Mystic Hospital game, and thought Cinderstone and the theatre games were ok. This one is on a par with Mystic Hospital = excellent! Creepy, mad scientist has a plan to take over the world through his mind control device and it's the agent's job to save the patients he's experimented on. Lots of HOS, but they're not all the same - something I find to be a nice change. The graphics are terrific, voiceovers appropriate (with no fake-looking lip movements trying to match and failing), music just the right level of eerie, mini-games challenging with a "skip" button if you get stuck or too frustrated. There's a map which is very helpful, especially if you don't like clicking through multiple rooms. There's definitely replay value to this game. If you've liked other "Agency of Anomalies" games, I think you'll really like this one. Enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Joining Hands 2 is a fun, light-hearted game. I wasn't familiar with the original game, but that doesn't seem necessary to enjoy the second installment. There's no storyline, so if that's important to you, it'd probably be better to skip this game. But if you're looking for something that will provide a diversion for a short while here and there, this is a good game to try. The sound effects make me smile every time at the end of each round. It's not complicated or scary or dark - just fun.
I recommend this game!

I like this game better than Sparkle 1, which was plenty fun in itself. This is just a lot of fun and, for a bonus, it's possible to complete (still haven't been able to get all the way through Sparkle 1). Yes, it's easier in some ways, but it's still challenging.
There's really not much of a storyline, but it's not really necessary to enjoy the game. The music is fine, although I keep the volume sort of low. The voiceover is appropriate to the story, but not central.
If you liked Sparkle 1, give Sparkle 2 a try. I think you'll find yourself with a new favorite. I've played it through twice now and have completed all the levels in Survival Mode, but I still have Challenge Mode to look forward to.
I recommend this game!

Not sure if any of the other reviews mention this, but I'm really liking that I can play a fairly easy Mahjong game instead of finding all the items in the HO scenes. I've had enough of the HO part of these games, but I still like the puzzles and the adventure part of it. I wish more developers would offer an alternative like this. It'd be good even (or maybe better) if the Mahjong was more difficult.
I recommend this game!

Roads of Rome 2 is just as entertaining, challenging and fun and the first edition. I'm not a huge fan of most time management games, but I've found these two to be quite enjoyable and interesting. I find myself thinking about the game when I can't play it - now that's an indication of how addictive it can be! Some levels can be frustrating if you're trying to beat the clock, but it's not required to complete a level before moving on to others. It's possible to come back to those later if desired. Enjoy!

I'm not usually a fan of time management games, but this one is fun, challenging, and addictive. I'm on my second time through and there are new landscapes to navigate and surprises along the way.
The music is upbeat; the sound effects are actually helpful and not just more noise. The storyline is sort of weak, but I don't think that's a problem with this kind of game.
I got this on a buy-one-get-one-free deal and it was definitely worth it. Think it'd still be worth it using a whole game credit. Hours of entertainment (and not getting household chores done)!
I recommend this game!
