I was fully expecting to totally agree with lillfive's review. I thought that, as with the recent Halloween mosaics from this dev, 8th floor, this game would be no fun because of the use of photos cut into supposed mosaics instead of the usual pieces textured as wood, glass, stone, etc.
After playing a few pictures, I did agree with lillfive, but I decided that I would try to move ahead to the next level to see if the pictures got better. terric01 said he/she tried to get to the second level to see if the challenge got better, but could not get there because the game required payment. (By the way, it doesn't really require payment, but I had to go back and play some pictures over so that I earned three more stars to progress.)
Conclusion: the second group of puzzles is no different in character from the first group. Still cut up photos. Or semi photos -- different photos pasted together into some sort of picture, sometimes with some artwork thrown in (for example, mantlepiece details). Also, the music is that same old 8th floor music that we are all getting pretty tired of.
As I played through the 20 pictures of the first level, however, I started enjoying myself. I found that, except for photos of people, many of the pictures were charming and gave me the Christmas spirit, playing as I am on Christmas Eve. Also, the way the pictures were cut up added to my interest.
Yes, it is not like the real Patchworkz-type puzzles where there are textures to match as well as colors and shapes. And this game does play a lot faster/easier than a real Patchworkz-type game because the use of photos make the puzzles much easier. (It only took me 41 minutes to play the first 20 puzzles, even with having to replay for more stars.) Still, I had a good time. Just don't expect the same experience as with a real Patchworkz-type puzzle game. Judge it for itself.
The real problem is that this developer (8th floor) does use lousy pictures sometimes (which is why I almost never buy their jigsaw puzzles). And here, you can't even see what all the pictures are going to be, unlike the jigsaw puzzle games. So, though I am buying (with a free coupon), I am having to hope that the rest of the game's pictures are in the same ratio of attractive to unattractive as the first level's.
Still, go in with an open mind, You might like it. Now I have to go back and play the Halloween game again to see if my rating was too low . . .

This is another great nonogram game in the "Rainbow" series, the best series of this type of game out there.
Yes, there are many more entries in other series than in this series. But this one is best because it allows enough mistakes without making you start over. And it even allows you to get more mistake-forgiveness with the coins you earn. Because I don't like to use hints, and because I forget to use hints, this is the series for me.
This is the series of nonogram games that got me addicted.

I will not write an entire review because Sunnyglow (and now Pennmom) have already written great ones that describe the game well. Instead, I write to explain why I liked this game so much while Sunnyglow, one of my favorite reviewers, didn't.
The reason: I got sucked into the this game. I was immersed in the world. I kept playing until the demo had almost run out. That is the mark of a five star game to me. So top marks.
Also, I play these games to relax, so I don't mind that the game might be easier than some as Sunnyglow states. (Because of my reason for playing, I only consider myself to be an "intermediate" player of HOS/Adventure games. I do not aspire to be an advanced player of this type of game. And if you are like me, you might agree that this is a great game.)
Further, I did not find it THAT easy. I had to work on some of the puzzles for a bit, and I skipped one. I often skip games during a demo period so I can see more of the game before the demo expires. Because the extras in this game include the ability to play the mini-games over, if I skip them, I get to play them over, a real plus for me.
I particularly liked the puzzle where you made meals for the customers at the tavern. I haven't seen too many puzzles like this. Fun!
Also, the colors were particularly bright, which I like. One of my favorite things is just wandering around the worlds created by developers and admiring the art. So this one is for me. I will definitely be buying this one as a CE. Try it and have fun!

Based upon the demo, this is a typical "Patchworkz"-type game with textured pieces, not actual photographs as found in this devs recent Halloween offering. Having actual photographs (instead of these) totally changed that Halloween game, making the puzzles way more simplified and the whole game more jigsaw-like. This offering is back to the usual style, so yay!
Thanksgiving theme is well developed by the pictures, but the music is the usual music from this developer, so "Eh" to the music. That's why 3 stars there.
There is a timer which seems more forgiving than most, but you can set relaxed mode and skip that feature entirely.
Very satisfactory game of its type. I highly recommend it. Buying now.

I will not write a long review because others have already written great ones.
Great art, music, good story, fun! I want to keep playing and will buy the CE.
But it's missing one thing. You can't play the minigames over. Even though you can play the HOPs over, and there is a "rune game" and a jigsaw puzzle, no ability to play the minigames over! ???!! I particularly liked that first one where you lined up the colored lines.
I don't get it. Grading down for this! Come on devs!

This is a very nice "one up or one down" solitaire game.
The art is pretty, the cards are legible with various styles to choose from, and the music is very nice and medieval, though not Halloween-evil.
Bonuses (helping cards) are: = an "eye" bonus, which "opens" the chosen card and a "lightning" bonus which removes the card you chose with the "eye" bonus = a shuffle bonus = a "bell", which increases the amount of coins you earn by 10%.
There are also various achievements to be earned, but I did not play long enough to earn any.
The reason I didn't play longer or give it top marks is--this game is very similar to many other games available from Big Fish. I won't be buying it unless I have a coupon about to expire.
But if you need a game of this type, try it. It is a good one.
Epistory immerses you in an atmospheric action/adventure game where you play a girl riding a giant fox who fights an insectile corruption from an origami world.

I played just a couple of minutes because the game was not what I had hoped for.
I thought that it would be a game that would give me typing practice, but instead, you use arbitrary letters on the keyboard to move through a world/maze that unfolds before you. I did get to type the word "twig" once though. Then I got to a spot where the world stopped unfolding, and I quit.
Also, it seems odd that your avatar is riding on a fox.
Graphics are poor and old-fashioned, though I liked the sound.
What I am looking for is a game like TyperShark used to be. A game that actually improves your typing.

Many have already written great reviews about the features of the game, so I will not repeat. Art great, music fitting, puzzles all great.
So why the low rating since I had such fun playing the demo? Particularly since it made sense, was paced well, and I didn't need the guide.
Yes, ok, it is beautiful and fun. And it has some interesting extras.
But you cannot play these great minigames and HOPs over. Why?????? I mean, there are other great extras, so why not this? Each minigame can be played on easy or hard, and I was going to play them on easy during the course of the game, and then play on hard when I played them over though an Extras feature. But I see from the Extras menu that I don't get to play them over!
I think I will just wait for the SE if they are not going to give me that feature. Too bad, devs.

I played this game only long enough to determine that it is the same as other card matching games by this developer. Some are: Solitaire Victorian Picnic, Doodle God Solitaire, the first Beach Solitaire (which I remember as having better music than this one, but I did not re-download to check) Solitaire Christmas Match 2 Cards, Pirate Solitaire and Pirate Solitaire 2.
You match two cards, suits don't matter, to get rid of them. Special cards include jokers (wild cards) , mulligans (do overs) and shuffles. You buy them from the store with coins you earn through playing, and you probably earn them by playing also if this game really is like all the others.
If you already own one of these games, there is nothing different here. But try it. This might be the one for you. It's a fun way to kill 10 minutes while you are waiting for your husband.

I have recently become addicted to this type of game, and the Fantasy Mosaics are great ones.
I realize that after not commenting on 16 previous games, maybe it is too late.
But I have to say, two annoyances.
1) It won't let you skip the little movies of the penguins, which I find tedious. 2) It lets you drag and fill the colors by holding down the left mouse button. So why won't it let you drag and fill no colors by holding down the right mouse button? Instead, you have to click on each and every square when you know they are not a particular color. Also tedious.
Otherwise, great game, this one and all the others. Try them if you haven't.
