This game offers three modes of play: easy, normal and hard. Even in the hard mode, this game is way too simple for adult players. This is a 'slide the columns and rows' variety of M3, vs. moving tiles or making chains. The graphics are child-like. The abundance of pop-ups windows is extremely irritating during timed play. Clearly, the object of the game is to clear all the blocked tiles, so we don't need this pop-up window blocking the game board at the start of each level. During timed game play, you get pop-up windows to choose powerups. Wrong time to present these windows! I turned the sound off at the very start, also irritating. Unlike other games where you get to choose the items you want to build, this game just adds them as you earn them to your property. If you had the choice, at least it would make this game of some interest.
I do not recommend this game for adults. Children may thoroughly enjoy it.
I don't recommend this game.

This match 3 relies on the hand-eye coordination of the player to drop the marble exactly where you need it. There is also the unpredictability of the marble's ability to bounce or roll where you don't want it to! While traditional M3 games require logic and strategy, this one requires skill - a skill that, unfortunately, I have never had: namely hand-eye coordination! I love the music; it is very soothing and very much like being in yoga class, and the graphics are colorful. Power ups are scarce and you can't rely upon them getting charged during your play. It was interesting for the hour trial, but not a variety of M3 game that I would purchase.
I don't recommend this game.

While the music is eclectic and it seems to have a storyline to follow, the graphics are dull. Based on the 9 levels of the trial, I can clearly state that the floating board IS NOT an advantage. When you've cleared all the tiles on the area you are in, you have to make useless matches just to have the board move to an area where you can work. The game play is fast and you can make matches while the board is still in motion from the prior match...that is, if your stomach can handle the seasickness! While it states that it has a timer, I didn't see one. It started to add some challenge with chained cells and locked gates, but the floating board makes this a NO GO for us!
I don't recommend this game.

Here's another match game that got so many low reviews that I had to try it for myself. It doesn't deserve ALL of the bad reviews. You need to play it a bit longer to learn some of its secrets.
While at first blush this M3 may SEEM like a children's game, it is not. I'm an expert M3 player owning over 60 games and playing at least several hours each day, and by Level 9 in World #1 I was bested by the clock before I was able to achieve enough points to earn the next level-which is the object of each level! Not only once, but several times!
While the graphics are cartoonish and may not be top quality, this is the only game I've seen where there are moving parts in an icon (moons circling the blue planets)! Very cool but also distracting toward the goal achievement, as your eye is drawn to this motion. The colors are vivid and bright. Yes, the music IS an Irish Jig, however; I don't think John Williams would have sanctioned his Star Wars theme music for an M3 game. While not necessarily appropriate to the game theme, the music is more agreeable than many of the games out there. This is one where I did not turn the music all the way down.
What IS different in this game than any other M3, is that you can physically MOVE the pieces to another location on the board (not just adjacent squares) to make the matches. As you get past the first two levels you start to get locked icons which DO require moving matching pieces TO the locked piece to gain big points, but the down side to this is that it takes more time off of your very short clock. You also get high-point icons which you need to match to gain the points, and looking for these also takes precious time off of your short clock.
My best suggestion for strategy is to start by making matches near the bottom, so that the cascade effect will make more matches, hence, more points.
The drawbacks to this game are: 1) that you cannot make a match until all falling tiles are in place from the prior match which causes more time off the clock, 2) the clock is VERY short, move fast, work from the bottom until the bonus icons appear, and 3) through Level 13 in World #2 there is only one mini-game, which is a match 3 where you can make only 1 move to clear the entire board. You can retry this as many times as needed or opt out of it.
While it would seem to get monotonous to play this game, it is surprising that it isn't because you are trying to beat the clock.
Only an android child could play this game successfully - it is definitely for adults, if you are okay with the same kind of game boards one after the other.
I recommend this game!

This game was presented this past weekend as a $2.99 special. While I've been trialing all of the M3 games, I had not yet gotten to this one.
I always read the help/how to play section after setting my volumes. The help screens seemed endless and I was beginning to get confused as there was so much information being provided and so many varieties of games being covered, but I started game play and it all fell into place as each type of game was presented. By the end of the trial I was completely addicted and immediately purchased the game so I could continue playing. I always read the reviews on a game before trial, and I want to thank the many that provided some detail of game play - it really helped a lot to know that spears are more effective on monsters and cannons are more effective on ships.
I'm pretty far into this game and am STILL learning as I go along. There is SO much variety offered that it's just not possible to become bored with it! Enjoy Matey! Arghhhhhhh!
I recommend this game!

I started doing HOG when I first was introduced to computer games, but after discovering Match 3, found them much more interesting, challenging and plausible.
This game is more solve the mystery/HOG than it is M3, and what I've found true about all HOGs is that if you have the Strategy Guide, you end up reading and following a set of instructions, not actually playing a game.
The music is wonderfully eerie and graphics are appropriately colored. I prefer to read the text than have it read to me, as the characters are too slow, so you can click by each screen as you as you are done reading the text.
I've become a true Match 3 (and Match 2) fan with added mini-games. This is not my kind of game, even though I do keep trying new ones when they come out, but continue to be just as frustrated as the last time I tried!!
This is not my kind of game!
I don't recommend this game.

Owning over 65 match 3 games, I was pleasantly surprised with Riddle! It's similar to Alchemist's Apprentice in that you have certain tiles that are your goal to match, these using clock hands. I love the music, and the graphics are bright and colorful. After each game board, if you've earned enough $$$ you are directed back to the town, where you have the opportunity to purchase more power-ups. I like this method of introducing power-ups gradually, so that you're learning and remembering them as you go along, rather than having them all introduced in the initial instructions, and you have to try to remember what they all do as you play. The game introduces challenges and power-ups early. It's one of the most fun M3 I've played and can't wait to get back to it! Enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Players either love or hate this version of BKR3! I couldn't put it down, but found the different challenges and size of the game boards taking much longer than the timer allowed, so I switched to Relaxed mode.
I'm more interested in playing the boards than building my reef, so when I take a break from game play, I have a lot of building to do at one time, which I prefer. I'm at level 134 and find the tar challenge to be my biggest nemesis! My only disappointment with this game is that there are very few power-ups to earn, but on some boards the bombs are plentiful! I'm not so critical as others of the graphics-I find them cute and colorful and the sounds are very appropriate for the game subject. It has taken me up to 37 minutes to clear one level, but that doesn't deter me....I keep moving on!
I recommend this game!

Whenever a game is given low reviews I'm impelled to try it for myself and see if I agree with all the comments. I feel this game has been given a bad rap by reviewers who are accustomed to the easy traditional M3 games.
YES, this game is a match 2 (there are a couple others out there); YES this game requires a great deal of mental logic from the player to be played successfully; NO, it is not difficult to figure out how to play it IF you take the time at the beginning to set your options (and YES there is music volume control) and to always read the HELP section BEFORE beginning the game. Help isn't always Help-in many games it is the instructions, as it is in this game. I found myself wishing I could print the screens so to have the visuals of the possible match directions in front of me, but you do grasp those that are more difficult as you play along.
The storyline is to rebuild the major tourist attractions of the world, which you do by earning coins during game play. The match 2 can be made by one, two or three connecting straight lines - this is where the mental logic comes in. Unlike M3, you need to try to 'see' the lines for these unusual matches. There are many power ups to earn and they are needed for the trickier tile locations. It can be played Timed or Relaxed, but at level 7 I was already running out of time, so that's when you switch to relaxed to get by that level. It does insert some other styles of mini-games that are also fun, and easier!
I shall buy this game specifically because it DOES present a very different and unusual mental challenge, which most M3 games do not. Try it for yourself with an open mind and not trying to compare it to, or expecting it to be like, Match 3. I think you'll like the challenge!
I recommend this game!

The basis of this game is taking same-colored puzzle pieces from a column on the right and placing them in the provided grids. The only challenge is if the piece you choose doesn't have the correct inny-outy configuration to fit in your open grid spaces, then you return it to the column and choose another piece. At the beginning you are offered the option for pieces to 'auto rotate' always answer YES. Filling the grids gains 'gems' that allow you to rebuild the village. The storyline follows through out and the graphics are colorful and vibrant, and the music is eclectic. If there is s a timer, I couldn't see it. It's not an M3 game at all, but an exercise in moving puzzle pieces into grids. Perhaps a young child may enjoy this kind of game, but don't waste your time if you have ANY experience at all in online game-play.
I don't recommend this game.
