I have no idea who the target audience for this game might be, but I do know that I do not fall into that category.
I was interested in the story, it could have had potential. The artwork and the music were pretty good and the technical aspects of the game flowed well.
Unfortunately, that was all I liked about this trial. Nothing made any sense, waiting for the imp to collect things was boring, the young woman's voice was grating, and the adventure aspect was missing entirely.
This will not be a purchase for me today and I don't recommend it to anyone who likes an interesting, well designed adventure game
Spirit of Revenge: Cursed Castle Collector's Edition was just O.K. in my book. I won't be purchasing this one, but that said, I think there's a real audience for it.
What I liked was the art, music, and all that stuff. The story - although not new, seemed like it might be interesting to resolve. The HOPs were well done and the puzzles were also O.K.
What I didn't care for was that there were just too many HOPs for my taste and rather than going on an adventure, I felt like I was just going from HOP to puzzle, HOP to puzzle - over and over.
The main problem, though, was the inventory. The items were quite small and were put against a brick background. It wasn't easy to see what I had to work with and I wasn't thrilled about playing an entire game dealing with that design flaw.
For those of you who are mainly into HOPs and puzzles - and have better eyesight than I do...this might be a really fun game. It's not for me this time.
The things I liked about this game were the length - it was certainly long, the story was O.K., and the artwork and sound effects were good. The jump map made the game playable - I would have given up if it wasn't for that.
What I did not like was that nearly every single thing needed some kind of "artifact"! It seemed as if there were thousands of them. There was little chance that I would remember where each and every one of them went...hence the absolute need for the jump map.
There were a few places where logic ruled the day and I was able to figure out where to go and what to do - but mostly it was placing artifacts in their correct place...to get one artifact to place somewhere else.
That said - I did enjoy it and played the entire game as well as the bonus chapter. While I probably won't ever play this one a second time, I'm not annoyed at this purchase.
This game kept my interest from beginning to end. It was an enjoyable adventure that moved fluidly. The story was cohesive and drawn out well. There was plenty to do and it was logical...always a plus in my book! The length is substantial, you get your money's worth with this one.
I will say that I would have been O.K. with the S.E. this time, though. The story ends satisfactorily in the main game and I wasn't all that crazy about the bonus chapter. The "elusive objects" were sometimes pretty difficult to find and I found myself obsessing a bit. My only trips to the strategy guide were to get help finding those. They actually became a distraction and I eventually gave up looking for them.
Spent a good several hours on this game and I definitely recommend it!
The trial for this game drew me in, it's by a developer I like, and it had glowing reviews - so I decided to give it a try. I liked the story line - it was a bit different than the norm but as the game progressed the game play became kind of boring.
Towards the end I was using the hint button a lot to go get that one thing, so I can get one thing, so I can unlock one thing to get one thing. I lost interest but kept at it.
I'm on the fence about recommending it but I suppose I will with the caveat that you keep your expectations kind of low and enjoy it as rainy day game when you've run out of good stuff to play.
Heartwild Solitare is one of those games that I have sitting on my computer to while away a bit of time in between other stuff. It's a pleasant, relaxing, yet challenging game that I really enjoy.
I've completed one run through the entire game and now am working on increasing my score. Great replay value to this game because you can compete against yourself over and over!
The story was silly but once you go through it, it doesn't repeat in subsequent games, it gets right into the game play. Glad I picked this one up!
What a silly, goofy game - and just a lot of fun! The Other Side: Tower of Souls is full of little details and sarcastic bits that really made me slow down and just take it all in. I suggest making mistakes on purpose so you'll get yelled at and do allow the music to cause an earworm...hilarious.
Others have described the game in detail and the most commonly used word has been "quirky". Yes. It is indeed "quirky" and well worth taking a slow, relaxed ride through it.
I'm just about to head in and have another go-round to catch some of the details I might have missed and to see what will happen if I make different choices. Have fun with this one!
Oh, dear. This was really dreadful. Go here to get one thing, to go get one thing, to go over there and get one thing. It was like a make-work project. There was no adventure aspect to the game at all.
Normally I don't make a big deal about the music and voices and stuff - but the character's voices here were particularly ridiculous. They sounded like they were from Northern California or something, certainly not what one would expect from a Mayan priestess or ancient Jaguar God.
I'll be passing on this one and certainly don't recommend it.
This was a fun one, start to finish. The adventure was logical and pretty seamless. I knew where to go and what to do and the jump map made it easy to get there. Found myself taking a few notes like an old style adventure game...
The HO scenes were good ones - a tiny bit of challenge to make them interesting. Puzzles were mostly really easy but kind of interesting at the same time.
I had a pleasant few hours with Lost Lands: Dark Overlord and highly recommend it!
I recommend this game!

Witch Hunters: Full Moon Ceremony Collector's Edition
Defeat the evil witches and save the world from eternal darkness!
Oh, dear. This trial left me in a bad mood. No purchase for me.
There were sparkles no matter what difficultly level you chose. The music didn't fit the scene or actions - it's like they were trying to create drama where none existed. Another developer using cut scene after cut scene that added mostly just annoying interference. Black pauses between scenes? Really?
The first puzzle seemed kind of interesting and sort of gave me hope, but that was quickly dashed by the insane use of objects in ridiculous ways for no apparent reason unless it's just to be "different". Can't recommend a game I wouldn't even use a coupon for.
