A different type of game and a bit of light hearted entertainment. At time the game was clunky when instructions were inadequate. I’ll deduct a point here for being clunky and failing to explain what is desired. The overall game was not dark or mysterious but rather different in a very refreshing way.

This game had moments when it was fun, for example the HOGs were mainly good, but there were times when I had to hit the hint repeatedly to have any idea what was going on. Worse was that the back story had no purpose or conclusion. Two chapters and still no story. This game appears to have been rushed to sale without proper thought. It barely merits 3 stars.

Following on the heels of many recent Viking games, this copycat gets it all wrong. In this game the time constraints are quite tight. You will often fail at levels one or two times before you barely finish. That kills any fun. This game is far more work than fun and it pushes the idea that fast is good, doing something the right way is bad. I can’t agree less. Skip this one. Don’t waste your money like I did. I may finish it someday, but right now I am too bored to play multiple levels in a day.
I don't recommend this game.

There was nothing which stood out in this game, nothing which was really good or really bad. The back story was really stupid and the play was too fast to enjoy. However, it was fun to play. Not special, but average when you need an escape from work. Some of the puzzles were good, too.

This is another good but not great game with the advantage of untimed play. Untimed games make for more fun playing than timed games for those of us with enough time constraints at work. I found this game to be silly, frivolous and fun. Another release from daily drudge. Without time limits, you can built up your town as you want to, not just fast. I prefer to do thing right, not fast, which is what some games push.

Initially this looks to be a great game for a HOG, because the pictures are so clear and not dark or blurry. However the objects are often obscured with only a fraction showing and may be very tiny. Indeed, I found several objects by random clicking and by accidental clicking while trying to pick up trash. Items which were not visible accounted for about 5 to 7 of the items to find in each scene. On balance, this was a good game, but not great because it was too much work to be really fun.

I was lucky enough to Beta test this game and where it left me hanging I had to buy the game and finish it. I thought they would never finally release it. When they did, I liked it even more. I actually liked the backstory and the game play and even most of the puzzles until a couple at the end. This was the sort of game I am always hoping to find when I buy another HOG and rarely find. I consider this one a gem. I just don’t know why it took so long to write the review. I only wrote the review after the second time playing it.

This Build-a-lot follows some really great predecessors and this time disappoints. I hate timed games and pressure and deadlines like I have at work, so I look for fun games. This is not a fun game, really, because with only 4 levels, I was done in 90 minutes. Maybe the adventure mode is different, but casual play was a letdown. As soon as I finished the dumb, but required, tutorial, I entered casual play and 90 minutes later I am done. This game is not worth buying because of its brevity.
I don't recommend this game.

Where Rescue Team 1 and 2 failed to get me to buy them and I did not like the play, Rescue Team 3 did get my money. It seems that this game finally got it close to right. I cannot call it anything more than a decent way to kill time, but as a way to fill time until something better comes along, it worked for me. Not too bad.

I will go on the record as recommending this game. The play was fun and the minigames were not as distracting as those of most recent games. Most recent HOGs have lengthy minigames that make one forget where the story was going. These games were mostly short and pretty easy games and I actually played all but two of them. Usually I just skip all minigames as too boring to bother with and then continue with the HOG game. I wish there were more games like this one.
