The storyline started out to be very interesting: The kingdom of Riddleston lived happily until strange events started to happen. The town was changed into something evil and horrible. Enter the Detective to save the town.
The graphics were beautifully done. Some scenes were like cartoons, others more realistic. Background sound was average, eerie and spooky when required. The voice overs were well done as was the narration. I would have peferred more action and less narration.
There were a lot of mini puzzles, all different, and all a lot of fun. Hidden object scenes were the interactive list type. Scenes were clear, crisp, and well done.
There were collectible statuettes of the royal family, shadow like royal crowns to collect, as well as lots of achievements.
The game looked like a winner but it was very slow moving. The storyline was discombobulated. Some hidden object adventures have a lot of "running around" to achieve a particular goal, but this one was just running around, going from place to place, without any real goal most of the time. It was confusing and not well planned. I just couldn't get into it
I intend to revisit this when the SE comes out because I couldn't delete the CE fast enough.

The human child of Fate is born. Dark forces are out to destroy her, first by imprisoning all females in the kingdom in an attempt to find her. Endter the hero Detective who has come to save her.
This game has an excellent soundtrack, beautiful piano and violin music, excellent voiceovers, especially on the talking spirits. The graphics are beautiful, very well drawn.
Mini puzzles are simplistic but a lot of fun and very entertaining. Hidden object scenes are the interactive list type, again, very entertaining and a lot of fun.
There is a task list and an interactive map to assist you. Additionally you will have Louie the bat to assist you in reaching things that you can't.
This is a very complex game, with a lot of back and forth, hunt and find, beasts popping up unexpectedly, and scattered notes to find and read. It has all the bells and whistles that the CE had. Excellent value in this SE.

Based on the Demo
The graphics in this game are phenomenal. They are very different than other newer hidden object adventures which adds to the creep factor. The soundtrack is nice, creepy, and horrific with great voice overs.
The game begins with a beast with glowing red eyes breaking the bedroom window of a small child holding her little toy. You as Detective are deployed to find the little child, presumably kidnapped by the beast and taken to an abandoned castle. You head out on your motorcyle, and crash when you are attacked by a rat the size of a sheep dog. You continue on foot.
This is not for the fainthearted. There are rats the size of werewolves, scorpions and other assorted creepy crawlies.
There are plenty of bells and whistles, smoke and mirrors, and twists and turns in this one. There are collectible pumpkin heads, papers, and statuettes and lots and lots of achievements.
Mini games are somewhat simplistic, but a lot of fun. Hidden object scenes are list type and interactive, moderately hard.
There is a diary, a strategy guide, and an interactive map to assist you.
If you like dark, eerie, creepy, then this one is for you.

The storyline is excellent. At the same time that the hero is taking a train to the mansion he and his sister have inherited to meet the Realtor who is to sell the mansion for them, there are cut scenes of a Realtor being tortured.
Great graphics: clear, crisp, well illustrated.
The soundtrack is great: background sounds of thunder, rain , and dark piano playing. Voiceovers are well done.
Hidden object scenes are interactive, the list type with well illustrated objects and clear descriptions of what to find.
The mini games were tough, a lot of fun, but tough. I had to skip two of them because I couldn't figure them out after 15 minutes.
Great game. I added it to my collection of Dark and Eeries.

This game is not for the faint hearted. There are rats running around and ghosts passing by as well as vampire like creatures. As a child, in your hometown of Mystery Valley, you had the same nightmare every night: there was a vampire like creature on a slab surrounded by what appeared to be hooded monks. As an adult, you became an FBI agent, moved to the city and thought you left the nightmares behind.
This dark and eerie hidden object thriller has a great soundtrack. It opens to the sound of thunder and pouring rain. The background music is phenomenal, with a concert pianist playing throughout the game. I would have bought it for the soundtrack alone.
The graphics are dark, eerie, and creepy with emphasis on creepy. There are a lot of basement and haunted house scenes.
There is not much handholding to the adventure part. I had to use the walkthrough several times when I was totally stumped as to what to do next because there is no hint button for the storyline, only for the hidden object scenes.
The hidden object scenes are interactive, with lists or silhouttes on the bottom of the screen. The items were well drawn, the lists straightforward and unambiguous.
Mini games were well done, some of them with multiple parts.
This is the real deal for dark, eerie, creepy adventure lovers.

This game has it all: a great sound track, great music, and great voiceovers. The graphics and special effects are beautiful and very detailed.
The storyline is interesting and intriguing. Your niece's fiancee disappears while they are in the woods. There is a bright pink light that coincides with his disappearance. She calls you to help her. On your way there (by train) the train crashes. When you finally arrive you realize that there have been many disappearances in that area and it appears that there is a sinister and scary over abundance of crows.
The hidden object games are challenging and fun, some of them shadow pictures, some interactive, all engaging. The mini puzzles are challenging and fun and the directions are clear and easy to understand. There is a skip button and reset button.
You get a journal, a strategy guide, a map, and an ancient amulet to assist you.
This game has a lot going for it , well worth the SE price.

Dark and Eerie lovers, this one's for us. The creep factor is very high in this one.
You are looking for your sister who disappeared ten years ago when your mother died. You end up at the Dark Falls Asylum, a place you have seen many times (in your nightmares).
The graphics are dark, eerie, ugly, and creepy, as is the soundtrack with its sinister and suspenseful music. The narration is very well done, the voice overs very realistic. The animation is on the money, with a creepy little girl, who looks like she is straight out of the movie, The Ring, stalking the asylum and our heroine.
There is a lot of intricate detail in the scenes, forcing the player to think outside the box and try different things to find out what is going on at this asylum and where your sister is.
The hidden object scenes are list type interactive with achievements for finishing. The mini puzzles are entertaining.
There is a diary and an interactive map to assist you in gameplay.

The game begins like a documentary, then turns into a mission. You have set out to the Arctic to find out what happened to your grandfather, lost on an expedition so many years ago.
The sound is great, the narration is very well done. Voiceovers are realistic. The graphics are good, on the ship they are grey and blue and dreary, like a ship of that genre would be.
Mini puzzles were okay, nothing special, but fun. The hidden object scenes were great; the were interactive list type with some items deliberately camouflaged. There is a puzzle mode you can switch to instead of the hidden object scene.
There are collectible coins you can use to purchase things at the "igloo shop".
There is a diary and a map to assist you in gameplay.
The game is a lot of fun, with a lot going on. Well worth a SE price.

Based on the Demo of the SE
The storyline is interesting. On your way to your niece's wedding the hot air balloon you are traveling in is attacked by a flying dragon. Your vessel burns, you crash, and begin looking for your niece.
There are lots of bells and whistles, plenty of things to do here, making it well worth the SE price.
The graphics are beautifu, colorful, a little cartoonish in some areas, but very well done, and very captivating. There is nice background music, realistic background sounds like birds and babbling brooks. The narration is clear with good voice overs.
Hidden object scenes are silhoutte type with clear, crisp, colorful objects to find. Mini puzzles were run of the mill, but a lot of fun.
There is an interactive map, a notebook, and a pallette of paints to assist you in gameplay.
