REVIEW FROM COMPLETED COLLECTORS EDITION GAME AND EXTRAS
This is a game that would be great to play with younger family members, etc. There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom modes; * Tasks board; * Owl to help you reach objects; * Interactive map; * An Amulet to help.
The graphics are very colourful and bright. As I went to different worlds, I would stop and stare around. All very beautiful and cute.
Sound is good. The music is orchestral and lovely to listen to.
The hidden object games are varied - with putting items back, interactive straightforward, silhouette, etc. These are very easy to do and don't take long before you can move on.
There are a huge variety of mini-games ranging from very easy to slightly more challenging. Some are matching pairs, playing embroidery tic-tac-toe, playing the harp, etc. I personally found them very easy to do, but if you are doing these with a youngster, then they may need (or may not!) your guidance to finish them.
You have an amulet that you will use a lot to decipher letters and to undertake tasks. This will glow when you need to use it.
So do you get the CE or SE? In the CE, there are 65 Observers to find, three games - Dark Architect, Liberation and Magic Sight, 15 Achievements (some with bronze, silver and gold) and other extras.
All up the game and extras took me about 5 hours to do, playing Hardcore and not skipping or hinting anything. I enjoyed the game and thought it was well presented and the developers took their time to get it right.
I'm about 4 hours into the game and thought I would tell you a little about it.
There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Easy, Medium, Hard and Custom modes of play; * Interactive map; * 12 Achievements; * Collect 45 Sign Collectors (ships wheels).
You can turn off Skip and Hint if you feel like a bit more challenge.
The graphics are alright - some scenes are a bit grainy and cluttered, but there is good colour. Other scenes are quite good.
Sound is good. The music is orchestral and very loud.
The hidden object games are fairly easy - there is interactive straightforward, silhouette and, so far, one FROG. These don't take long to do. If you would prefer, you can play Match 3 instead. There are EIPIX symbols which you need to get to the bottom, which will cross off an item.
The mini-games are fairly standard and I've seen them all before. I was able to do these pretty quickly and move on.
I found I didn't need to use the interactive because you are only going a couple of steps forward or backward. However, you do get an achievement if you use it.
The Sign Collectors (ships wheels) are not hidden, so you can just pick them up along the way.
In the Extras you have the Souvenir Room and can replay all the HOPS and mini-games to better your time and accuracy. I'll do that later.
Overall, its not a bad game. There are a lot of cut scenes to get through. You get an achievement if you watch them all (which I won't as my mind starts to wander off!). There is plenty to do in the game, however its not mindblowing. I'm trying to like it more, but its missing that wow factor. However, you may love it.
As an agent of the Alliance, you’ve been given a mission to destroy an ancient artifact known as the Spear of Destiny. In the wrong hands, it could help conquer the world.
The graphics are superb. Everywhere is colourful and clear to see. Sound is excellent and the music is orchestral and piano.
There are a good variety of highly interactive hidden object games which include straightforward and silhouette. There are also morphing objects in these as well. These had a good challenge and I loved playing them.
The mini-games are fun to do and there are a lot of them. Some had a very good challenge and took me a while to do and to get in the right order and/or colour. I played them all and never felt out of my depth to defeat them.
During the game you will be looking for WWII uniforms, bombs, tanks, ships, planes, etc which will go into the Achievements Rooms. A hand DOES NOT come over these, so keep a good eye out for them. When I found all the tanks, I looked in the Headquarters Achievements Room, put the tank on the table and watched live footage of tanks in action during WWII. Amazing. This also happens with the ships, bombs, planes, etc. I loved this.
You can also replay any HOPs and mini-games after you have finished the game.
All up the game took me a good 8 hours to play, not skipping or hinting anything, so well worth its money.
This game definitely comes recommended. Don't let this one pass you by - its a cracker. Well done Boris and the team - you've done it again.
I recommend this game!

Fall of the New Age
Help Marla uncover the secret conspiracy of the Cult and release her brother from captivity!
What a good adventure game. You play Marla and you're on an adventure of a lifetime to rescue your brother Ray.
There is:
* Regular, Advanced and Expert modes of play; * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Journal (with clues); * A box on the left where you find and store gems; * A box on the right where you dress Marla for disguises; * Lockpicks to use throughout the game.
The graphics are very good. Its clear to see everywhere. Its medieval times, so there are lots of browns and grays.
Sound is good. There is organ music and chanting throughout the game.
There are not a lot of HOPS but the ones you do play are silhouette. Find all the items and then go to the right hand corner to dress Marla in disguise. I enjoyed doing this.
The mini-games are fun to do. Nothing is too hard or frustrating. In Expert mode the Hint and Skip are turned off, so you are on your own. I noticed that most of the time there were no instructions on how to do the mini-games, but they were all straightforward and I had no problem doing them. I enjoyed these as well.
You have a set of lockpicks which you will be using throughout the game. These are not hard to do.
The ending finished very abruptly, and from what I had read in the Forum there is a CE, which I didn't realise. So therefore I couldn't find all the gems to open the doors to read the manuscripts. In the CE there would have been another chapter or two to finish off the game appropriately. I'm disappointed about that because there was still a lot to do after rescuing Ray and I don't know what happened.
However, it is a good adventure game with plenty to do. You just need to make up your mind whether to get the CE or SE.
You play Aaron and are looking for your brother Darren who went missing 20 years ago.
There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Advanced, Hard and Custom modes of play; * Interactive map.
The graphics are quite good and clear to see everything.
Colours are bright but not gaudy.
Sound is good. I honestly didn't even notice the music but I found I was playing to silence most of the time.
The hidden object games are varied. In some you need to find 5 objects and take a key to unlock the next lot of objects. Some are interactive where you find one object to use to find another, etc. Some are silhouette and you need to find two of each item. Some are find the differences. All of these are very easy to do.
There are a huge range of mini-games to play. Some of these only took me seconds to do and there were others that took a while. There are a lot, and I mean a huge, amount of sliding and rotating tiles games to play. I grew bored with them after I while, but you may like them more than me. A lot of time was spent getting the tiles in the right order and/or colour . You have a rune sign on your hand that wards off evil spirits. However, be warned this can be tricky to use and you need to hold the mouse for quite a while before the pieces click in together. I got used to it after about the third time I used it, but its very tricky and clunky to use and I know a lot of fishies won't like this. I didn't like it much and sort of gritted my teeth as I did each one.
I didn't need to use the interactive map at all because you are only going a couple of steps forward or backward.
So do you get the CE or SE? In the CE there are 37 Achievements. You also need to find 10 Collectibles and wallpaper pieces which are not hidden and you just grab them as you go. Personally, I think the SE will suffice better because there was no challenge in finding these.
Overall, its not a bad game. The characters are nice, the HOS and mini-games are not taxing on the brain, and it will fill in an afternoon or evening without getting too bored.
Well, in all honesty, its not a bad game, but still leaves a lot to be desired. There is:
* Easy and Hard modes; * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Interactive map.
The graphics are okay. They are kind of dirty and gritty. Personally I don't mind these sorts of graphics but they aren't to everyone's taste. I had no trouble deciphering what objects were, but some scenes needed to be fine tuned and smartened up.
Sound was good. The music was mainly piano with some orchestral.
The hidden object games are slightly interactive and there are a lot of them. However, if you don't feel like doing these, then you can skip them.
I've seen all the mini-games before and these were pretty easy to do and didn't take long. These were just run of the mill games and you can skip these too if you don't want to play them.
The interactive map works well.
I'm not really sure what century this game was supposed to be. I thought maybe late 18th century because there was a horse and carriage as the main form of transport, however there was a plane and a record player which is 20th century. Who knows why?
All up the game took me about 4 hours to do, not skipping anything. I probably won't play the game again as I really wasn't that into it, but its nothing personal towards the game - I just didn't enjoy it that much.
Best to trial first and see what you think. You may love it. I'm recommending this game for all horror lovers out there.
In the main game you play Chelsea Jefferies and in the Bonus game you play Omni.
There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Drizzle, Downpour, Thunderstorm and Custom modes; * Interactive map; * 14 Achievements (some with Bronze, Silver and Gold); * Find 44 stormchasers; * Use of your phone as a flashlight, camera, etc.
The graphics are excellent - very colourful and detailed. There are a lot of locations that you will go to and most places are quite beautiful and eerie.
Sound is very good. The music is orchestral and quite fast. I had it on loud the whole way through.
The hidden object games range from very easy to medium. There are a range of straightforward and silhouette. There is one awesome HOP where there is a sliding bar at the top and side and you have to locate the item you need and slide it into the right space. This had a very good challenge and was so unique. I hope there will be a lot more of these in the future. I can really see it taking off. There is also one morphing object per HOP to find. However, if you miss any, then you can do them in the Extras.
Most of the mini-games are pretty easy and don't take long to do. We've seen them all before and I didn't see anything new or different.
The extras are doing a treasure hunt which takes about 5 minutes locating all the items through each scene. You can replay any HOPS if you want to better your time, and find any morphs you missed or forgot about.
All up the game, bonus and extras took me about 5 hours.
Overall, not a bad game. However, I feel its nowhere near what I expect from this developer who has always been in the forefront of gaming uniqueness, challenge and storyline. I have every one of their games and hope that their next game will have these qualities - and more of that HOP I spoke of earlier - I loved that.
This is a game that would be great to play with young family members, etc. There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom modes; * Three games - Dark Architect, Liberation and Magic Sight; * 15 Achievements (some with bronze, silver and gold); * Tasks board; * Owl to help you reach objects; * Interactive map; * Find 65 Observers; and * An Amulet to help.

Some are matching pairs, playing embroidery tic-tac-toe, playing the harp, etc. I personally found them very easy to do, but if you are doing these with a youngster, then they may need (or may not!) your guidance to finish them.
I found 63 of the Observers. However, to play the Magic Sight game, you need to go back to any scenes where you missed any. The tree will show you what scene(s) to go and grab any you missed.
You have an amulet that you will use a lot to decipher letters and to undertake tasks. This will glow when you need to use it.
It is quite easy to get most, of not all, of the Achievements.
All up the game and extras took me about 5 hours to do, playing Hardcore and not skipping or hinting anything. I enjoyed the game and thought it was well presented and the developers took their time to get it right.
What a sweet game and is perfect to play with your kids, etc. You play the Queen and need to rescue your baby from the Witcher and to save your husband Henrik.
There is:
* Regular and Expert modes of play; * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Diary; * 18 Achievements (bronze, silver and gold); * Interactive map; * Violet the fairy to help you; * Bonus chapter.
The graphics are lovely - well defined, very colourful but crisp and easy on the eye.
Sound is good. The music is mainly orchestral and piano which played quietly in the background.
The hidden object games are slightly interactive straightforward, silhouette and putting items back. You will do these twice. There is at least one morphing object per HOS which I loved. These are not hard to do as items are clear to see.
There are a huge variety of mini-games to play which range from quite easy to moderately difficult. Some of these are getting the balls into the right place, making a potion, doing some embroidery, etc. These are not frustrating or too hard but just taking the time to get them in the right place and to read the instructions properly. I enjoyed them all without skipping any.
There are 6 crowns, 5 swords, 6 hooks and 6 apples to find throughout the main game (not the bonus). Find them all and you get an achievement.
I got all the achievements except one, which is to play the tutorial. I didn't see that one until I had finished.
There is an interactive map, but I found I didn't need to use it as you are only moving a few steps forwards or backwards to undertake tasks, so it wasn't necessary.
All up the game and bonus took me about 4 hours or so. I really enjoyed the game and is perfect to play in between all the other big grunty games that we play. There is a lot to do and I was never bored.
This game is on my top 10 list of best games ever. There is:
* Casual and Expert modes (you can change any time); * Voiceovers; * Diary; * 6 Achievements; * 22 morphing objects to find; and * Strategy Guide (yes, that is right!).
The graphics are dark, dirty and gritty, but very clear to see everywhere. As I entered each scene, I would stop and stare around - very creepy and I never knew what to expect next.
Sound is very good. The music is on a continual loop but its nice and plays quietly in the background.
The hidden object games are slightly interactive straightforward and have a good challenge but I didn't have any problem trying to see items. I enjoyed them all.
There were a lot of mini-games to play. Some were fairly easy and I got back to playing fairly quickly, and others I spent some time on. There are no frustrating or boring games and I played them all. It helps to read your journal because it will have the answers to a variety of mini-games, etc.
Okay, I admit that you will have your running shoes on. There is no interactive map and there are a lot of different locations to go. However, I found it easy to memorise and I never got lost. This is one huge building with a variety of different outside dwellings as well. As you go through the game, make sure you check everywhere. This is one of those games where you never know what or where you will find items of interest. This can save a lot of running around.
I only found 15 of the morphing objects. These are challenging to find and your cursor DOES NOT change when you come to one so you really need to keep an eye out - literally!
YES, there is a Strategy Guide if you get stuck. I used it a couple of times when I was literally wondering what to do next and I had been everywhere at least twice.
You get an achievement if you finish the game under 4 hours. Well, wait for it, I finished the game in 11 hours!!! Well, it is a big game with lots of locations and that's my pitiful excuse.
So overall a fantastic game with plenty to do. No boring or cookie cutter game here - this is a classic. Well done devs.
Definitely comes recommended - don't let this one pass you by. Happy playing fishies - this is a gem.
