There are the 2 usual choices of game mode for this game. After playing the demo in casual mode, I chose the advanced game mode after purchasing the game. Expert mode offered a bit more of a challenge, in, what I felt, was a pretty easy, straight forward game. The sparkle indicaters for areas of interest, quick refill of the hint button and quick fill of the skip button for the puzzles just wasn't necessary for me. There are quite a few HOS in this game. The HOS are interactive and most objects were fairly easy to locate. There were several objects, in several of the HOS, that were virtually impossible to locate. An example to explain this is there is a hand rake in one of the HOS that was located in a spot that was exaclty the same color as the rake and I honestly could not see it! Even when I ended up clicking the hint button, the circle formed around the hand rake and I STILL could not see it. Another example is a light bulb that has to be located in another HOS and the only part of the light bulb that's showing is a very small portion of the top part of the bulb. I didn't, however, have to use the hint button, because I accidentally clicked on it and found it! :-) The puzzles range from easy to hard and there's a good balance of both. Some of the puzzles are tedious and take quite a bit of time, and patience, to complete. I did not come across any that I found so challenging that I had to skip it all together. The hint button during gameplay is very detailed and tells you exactly what to do, where to do it and what to do it with. However, sometimes, it will form a circle around a puzzle that's in the area that you're currently in, even if you do not have all the items in your inventory to complete that puzzle. There is a journal and you will find yourself referring to it often. The journal not only tells most of the story, but also has a "task" tab to click on that tells you the tasks that need to be completed. There are a few characters that you run into during gameplay that add to the storyline, but the journal tells the majority of it. There is no map, which was not a huge hinderance during gameplay. The town is not very large and there are not so many areas that need to be explored that a map would be necessary. The music was fitting for each scene/area in the game and I didn't find it annoying at all, so I left it turned up throughout the entire game, which is a rarity for me. The graphics are absolutely gorgeously dark and creepy! :-) I had a lot of fun playing this game and would recommend to my fellow gamers! HAPPY GAMING!!
I recommend this game!

I tried several times to play this game, but it just couldn't hold my attention. The storyline is very draggy and the one character I ran into, during the 2 chapters of gameplay I forced myself through, added very little to the storyline. I found that there was minimal addition to the storyline during gameplay as well. There are 3 modes of gameplay, casual, advanced & hardcore. The music was pleasant and fitting for the atmosphere. There is a diary, but no map. I don't, however, think a map is needed. The inventory items found within a chapter are, for the most part, used within that chapter. There's tons of backtracking in a particular chapter, but the chapter areas are not large and have very few rooms/areas. The puzzles were easy, and the ones I came across required hardly any thought at all. The HOS are junkpile and almost look "cut and paste". The objects are not difficult to locate. The other graphics in this game, however, are beautiful. I'm sure I will try to play, and complete, this game sometime in the future, but not any time soon.
I don't recommend this game.

I REALLY enjoyed this game so much! The graphics are amazing and the storyline was excellent! There are the 2 usual modes of gameplay for this game. The hint button refills fairly quickly and the skip button fills fairlly quickly as well. The HOS are interactive, some of them are junky, but objects aren't terribly hard to find. There were too many HOS for my taste, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of the game. I'm just one of those gamers that prefer fewer HOS. The puzzles range from easy to hard. I did get frustrated during one puzzle and I ended up hitting skip on that one, which I never do. I think I was probably just tired, because I had been playing non-stop for a very long time, because this game just drew me in! I really enjoyed the story and just couldn't, or wouldn't, stop playing! :-D There was some backtracking, but not so much that it got frustrating or I lost my place or forgot what my objective was. It's not a game where you find inventory items much later in the game that have to be used in areas you came through much earlier in the game. The inventory items are, for the most part, used in the general area or building where they are found! The hint button is helpful, but does not tell you exactly what needs to be done during gameplay. It will tell you if there's nothing to do in that area, but it shows a shattered glass section of the screen of an area that needs attention. The excessive clicking penalty is a fog that comes across the screen with a foggy phantom skull that laughs, which I thought was pretty cool, so I found myself clicking during HOS just to see it! :-) I can't comment on the CE, but I can say that I didn't find myself needing guidance or wishing I had the SG at all. That being said, the ending of this game was somewhat anti-climatic for me, so maybe the CE offers bonus gameplay that offers more of an ending. Don't get me wrong, the ending wasn't horrible by any means, I just felt it was somewhat lacking. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game! I loved the puzzles, I enjoyed the HOS, although I felt there were too many of them and I really enjoyed the story! I would definitely recommend this game!! Oh yes, I almost forgot, in the SE you do get the sneak peek for an upcoming game, "Nightfall Mysteries: Black Heart" and the description of that game looked very promising, so I'm looking forward to it coming out and playing the demo and hopefully playing that game as well! I hope this review helps my fellow gamers in making their decision on downloading the demo of this game and giving it a whirl! I hope everyone enjoys playing it as much as I did!! :-D HAPPY GAMING!!!
I recommend this game!

Hmm? Well, the graphics are amazing ... the storyline, and game in general, was lacking! The storyline was vague at best. There's no journal, so the story is told by the VERY FEW characters you come across throughout the game, so in my opinion, there wasn't really much of a storyline at all. I mean, I knew what my goal was, but I'm not sure why? There are the 2 typical modes of gameplay, casual and expert. In addition to being able to adjust music and sound volume, you can also adjust the brightness, which was a pretty cool feature. Throughout the game you will see silver, bronze and gold padlocks that can only be unlocked if you are playing the CE. It's just torture if you play the SE, so I HAD to play the CE! I should note that the padlocks throughout the game is the bonus gameplay and that there is not a bonus chapter or bonus game, just the bonus area when you unlock the padlocks. That being said, I wouldn't have purchased the CE if I had known this, but on the other hand, I'm glad I got the CE, because I referred to it often to guide me back to areas I had already been to use inventory items picked up later in the game. I would've been running all over the place if I hadn't had the SG. The SG is okay, but if you're a gamer that relies on the SG to assist in finding objects in the HOS, you will be disappointed with this SG. It is very helpful, as far as telling you which scene/area you need to go back to when you come across an inventory item that belongs in another area/scene, keeps you from going area to area trying to remember and find where an inventory item goes. The SG also assists in solving some of the puzzles, but not all. There is an interactive map that allows you to click on an area you've already been and transport there immediately, which I think is a great feature! The CE also offers soundtracks, concept art and wallpapers. The HOS are interactive and the objects are very cleverly hidden. Also, when you click on items during gameplay you must find the pieces of that item to complete it and then it will be added to your inventory. Some of the pieces you must find to complete the inventory item are extremely hard to find and I spent A LOT of time trying to find one or two pieces of several different inventory items. I found this frustrating at times. The puzzles range from easy to very hard, but I really enjoyed the puzzles. I guess to sum it all up, the storyline was, from what I could gather, pretty lame and lacking, the puzzles were challenging and enjoyable, the HOS were good, finding the pieces to complete inventory items was a great concept, but some of the pieces were too difficult to find, the SG was okay and the bonus gameplay throughout the game wasn't the best. I would much rather have a bonus chapter or game. I hope this review helps other gamers decide whether to purchase the SE or CE, if one decides to play it at all. HAPPY GAMING!! :-D

I had so much fun playing this game! I really enjoyed the story, the HOS and the puzzles and the game is pretty long, which I really enjoyed. The story is based around the 7 deadly sins, the storyline "flowed" well and held my attention. You wake up in, what you discover, is a hospital with no memory of how you got there and no idea what's going on. You discover the hospital is a huge complex with a cathedral, medieval devices and cult-like followings and practices. There's a nice balance of HOS and puzzles, so I didn't get bored with either. There are 2 modes of gameplay, casual and expert. It says that in casual mode the hint button recharges in 1 minute and sparkles indicate areas of interest, however, the hint button recharges almost immediately. I always check out everything, like hint button recharge, excessive clicking penalties, etc. and that's when I noticed the hint button recharged almost immediately. Also, there is no penalty for excessive clicking. The hint button doesn't tell you exactly what to do, but it does point you in the right direction. There is a journal and a map. The journal is detailed and tells the story well. Morbile Hospital is a very large place with many rooms, buildings and areas to explore, so the map is definitely helpful. The map shows your current location and areas of interest. The more places you discover and explore, the more the map fills in, so you won't see the entire place in the beginning. The HOS are not "junky", they're interactive and objects are not extremely hard to find. As far as the puzzles go, I found that some of them were easy for me, but there were also some that were very challenging. They weren't so hard that I got frustrated and skipped them, but they did require a lot of thought. The graphics in this game are absolutey beautiful, detailed and very impressive! The developers' attention to detail is amazing to me. :-) I would definitely suggest clicking on everything you see! I found that this really added to the story. By clicking on everything from statues and flowers to light fixtures and little grates in the floors, a "dialogue" came up on the top of the screen and added to the story and atmosphere! There are 42 morphing/beyond objects to find throughout the game. I'm one of the gamers that enjoys the morphing/beyond objects, so it was added fun for me to try and find them all. :-D The cursor turns to a hand when it goes over a morphing/beyond objects. When you put the cursor over areas where inventory items are to be used, a circle in the middle of the cursor rotates. It will turn to a magnifying glass over areas where you need to take a closer look. I ended up muting the music, it got annoying to me, but I left the ambient and sounds turned up and feel that they added to the gaming experience for me. I tried to include all the information in my review that I like reading in reviews before I download a demo of a game. I hope that this review helps other gamers decide! I would certainly recommend this game and I hope other gamers enjoy this game as much as I did! HAPPY GAMING!! :-D

Wow! I had so much fun playing this game! It was lengthy, had a great mixture of HOS and puzzles, the graphics are outstanding, the voice overs are perfect and the storyline is great! I would definitely recommend getting the CE, because there is no map and there are lots and lots of places to explore! There is a journal that is very helpful, but without the SG it would've taken me weeks to complete this game. Having no map, many eras, areas and rooms to explore, many, many inventory items scattered throughout several eras, rooms and areas, it would've been extremely difficult for me to remember where the inventory items, that I found much later in the game, were supposed to go in the areas/eras/rooms that I discovered much earlier in the game. Plus the SG offers bonus gameplay, wallpapers and minigames, which I absolutely love. Your adventure begins with a witch that has trapped you in a museum by taking pieces of a clock and hiding them throughout the museum and throughout different eras of time. And not only are you trying to free yourself and get back home, but you also must free several different people from different time periods, restore them and their era by repairing their clocks that the witch has also damaged. The others that you help hold the items that you need to repair your clock and get back home. Some of the HOS are quite unique. Some of them you have to add objects you've collected from other HOS back into a scene. I'll try to explain it a little better; you complete a HOS, then you come across another HOS and the objects that you found in the 1st scene have to be placed into their correct spots in the next HOS you come to. I've never seen this done in a game before and I really enjoyed the change from the norm. The HOS are crisp and clear and the objects are not terribly hard to find. The puzzles in this game are challenging, but not so much that I got frustrated. They were very workable, but quite a few of them did require some serious thought. There's one in particular that you have to make stained glass and on that one I ended up checking the SG to help me out. The music and sound effects weren't at all annoying to me, so this was one of the few games that I left all the sound on. All in all, it's a long, challenging and enjoyable game. It has a nice balance of HOS and puzzles and the story is easy to follow and kept me interested throughout the game. I would certainly recommend this game to all the Big Fishers that enjoy the HOS, adventure, puzzle games! :-D HAPPY GAMING!

This Mystery Trackers definitely did not disappoint! It was fun challenging, engaging, interesting and the graphics are GORGEOUS! There are the 2 usual modes of game play, casual and expert. There are 21 achievements to earn throughout gameplay, which made me not want to skip the harder games or use any hints at all. There are also bonus "princess frogs" to find throughout gameplay, find 50 to receive your achievement. The cutscenes are very well done and you can click on the camera and watch them over and over. There is no map, which was a problem for me. There are quite a few rooms/areas in this game and a ton of inventory items, some of which are found much later in the game and need to be used in places you found much earlier in the game, which made it very difficult to remember to use them. I recommend taking notes, which I did, but I also found myself referring to the SG, not to assist with the puzzles or HOS, but to help me in finding the places where inventory items are used. A map would've been extremely helpful, and since there's not one, I would definitely recommend getting the CE so you'll have the SG to assist you. The music was fitting for the game and wasn't annoying to me and the storyline is great! The game is long and kept me playing for days. In getting the CE you get a trivia game after you've completed the game and the bonus gameplay, wallpaper, screen savers, concept art and I think I remember that there is a soundtrack as well. All in all, this game was a must-have for me and I would certainly recommend it! HAPPY GAMING!

This game is fantastic! There are so many unique elements to this game, and I had so much fun playing it, this will be the first game EVER that I've even considered playing again. It's an extremely large file, so I would recommend downloading the demo first to make sure your computer can handle it. You are a journalist whose girlfriend has been kidnapped by a psychotic serial killer and you must go to the killer's estate and rescue her. There are 2 game modes to choose from, casual and expert. Casual mode offers highlighted areas of interest and hints refill quickly. Expert mode offers no highlights for areas of interest and hint refills more slowly. After playing the demo in casual, I decided that playing in expert mode would be the better choice for this game, for me anyway. The hint button is handy, but only in an area where there is still something to find or do, otherwise, it just tells you "there's nothing more to do here." There is also a map and journal. The journal has a "recorder" tab so that you can listen to what the killer says to you in the event you need to, or want to, hear it again. He taunts you over loudspeakers, which are located in every area/room of the estate and I really liked that I could go back and listen to everything he said anytime I needed, or wanted to. The beginning of the game does suggest that you keep the volume up to enjoy the full experience of the game and I couldn't agree more! I did, however, turn the music off. I would also recommend purchasing the CE! This game is incredibly long, which is a very good thing in my book, however I found myself referring to the strategy guide quite a bit, not to assist with the puzzles or HOS, but to assist with placing inventory items. Although the map does indicate the areas where there are puzzles, areas of interest, etc, I still needed the SG, because of the length of this game, the fact that there are at least 80 rooms/areas and it's very common in this game to find inventory items much later in the game that are needed for areas/rooms that you came through much earlier in the game. And even though I took notes from the start of the game, it would've taken me a month to finish this game! The SG prevented me from running around the estate trying to find that one door that needs the star key to open it. That's just an example, but I'm sure you understand what I mean. There's already a lot of backtracking in this game and I imagine that I would've given up if I didn't have the SG to assist me. The hidden object scenes are so much fun! They're interactive and some objects require 3 steps. There was no blurriness and the items weren't extremely difficult to locate! The puzzles range from easy to hard and there's a good mixture of both. There's also a good mixture of puzzles and HOS, so I didn't get bored with one or the other! The graphics are outstanding! A lot of thought was put into this game right down to the smallest of details! I found myself saying "WOW!" out loud several times! The voice overs are very well done also! The CE offers a bonus chapter, soundtrack, art, wallpaper & an interview with the developers. At the start of the game you can choose widescreen and there's also a film grain option, this game is the 1st time I've seen the film grain option. It was pretty cool! I will note that this game does involve a serial killer, so there are dead bodies scattered about the estate, so if things like this bother you, this game is not for you. Aside from the tremendous amount of backtracking, this game is EXCELLENT & quickly rose to one of my top 10 favorite games! I hope this review helps my fellow Big Fishers in deciding whether this game is for you or not! HAPPY GAMING!!
*****Some gamers may consider this next bit of information a spoiler. I DO NOT consider it a spoiler, but some gamers might!***** That being said ....
I mentioned earlier in my review that there are dead bodies scattered about the estate, but I also felt that I should note that there is a point in the game that you actually hear a group of people being murdered. I wanted to note this as well, because there are some gamers that may find this disturbing.
I recommend this game!

Let me start off with the positives of this game! The graphics and music are excellent! I normally turn the music off, because it ends up getting rather annoying, but I kept it on in this game. The graphics are excellent with no blurriness or fuzziness! There are a lot of HOS in this game and none of them were grainy or blurry. The items were fairly easy to find as well. Don't get me wrong, the HOS weren't super easy, I just mean the items weren't grainy and you can tell what they are when you see them. There are 2 modes of game play, casual and expert. The casual game mode offers sparkles for all the areas of interest and the hint button fills up quickly. Expert mode has no sparkles for areas of interest and the hint button fills up more slowly. The strategy guide is easy to follow as well. There are several achievements that you can earn for this game, such as an achievement for having no mis-clicks in a HOS and not using the hint button during HOS. I think there's a total of 12 achievements, but I'm not totally sure, but it's close to that number. A little window comes up each time you receive an achievement and tells you which one you received. The story is great and there is a diary that you can refer to, there is no map however! Please note that the storyline involves demons, dark magic and warlocks, so if you are one that does not enjoy that type of story, you will probably want to avoid this game. The cut scenes were seamless and well done! There is also a bonus chapter in the CE, which is the only reason I buy any of the CEs! Now for the things I consider negatives in this game. These few negatives were enough to make me give a 3 star rating, because they just took the fun out of the game, for me anyway! There was SO MUCH running around, back and forth, scene to scene, that I would forget what I was doing, what object should go where and several times I had to re-read the diary to remember what the story is actually about! This took the fun factor out of this game for me! The story just didn't flow well, because of all the running amuck, and in turn, had me wishing I hadn't bought this game. Also, as I do enjoy the occasional HOS in games, this game had more than I care to have in a game. I realize this is a hidden object adventure game, but there are some of these types of games that have fewer HOS, and those are the ones that I enjoy the most! :-) If you really like a lot of HOS in an adventure game, this is a game you will certainly enjoy! I do hope that those of you who do choose to purchase this game have a great time playing it and enjoy it very much! HAPPY GAMING!

Well, I must say, I had absolutely NO idea how OLD this game is! I downloaded the demo of the 3rd installmant of Ravenhearst today and decided that I would like to play the first 2 before purchasing the 3rd! I SO wish I had NOT made that decision! I thought I was really missing out on a "something fabulous" game, but boy was I WRONG! I just went ahead and purchased this game instead of doing the demo first, which is something I NEVER do, and also something I will NEVER do again! I got through 2 rooms and realized this is just the old school basic hidden object game, that is timed, and not the hidden object adventure type game that I am used to! I probably should give it more than 2 stars, because it's my fault for not reading about this game, or checking the age of this game, before purchasing it! Based on the overall ratings that this game has received, it's probably not a horrible game, and was probably an awesome game when it first came out, which was obviously a LONG LONG LONG LONG time ago! ;-# But what I learned about the game, based on my limited playing time, is there are 2 modes of gameplay, both of which are timed. The one I chose was casual, which is usually what I play, and this mode gives you extra time to find the hidden objects and extra hints. The penalty for excessive clicking is you lose several seconds from the time clock. I normally turn the music completely off in most games, but I didn't find the music or sound effects annoying at all, so I left both of them on. The quality of the graphics is poor compared to games today, but they were probably excellent back in the day! ;-) Actually, I honestly do not know exactly when this game came out, it just appears to be extremely outdated. Of course, everything seems to progress and improve so rapidly these days, it could've come out 6 months ago! #HA HA!# All in all, if you're a gamer that likes timed hidden object games, and you don't mind the graphics being somewhat grainy and blurry, this is definitely the game for you. HAPPY GAMING!
