Okay! Let me start off by saying that I think I am the ONLY Big Fish Gamer that has NOT played the Ravenhearst MCF games! I've played all the other MCF games, but not sure why I haven't played the Ravenhearst games?!? That being said, I can't compare this game with the first installments .... yet! I played only the demo of this game, but I'm going to give my review of the little bit that I played, go back and play the first Ravenhearst MCF games and then purchase this one! I will say that I will probably purchase the CE though! I consider myself a fairly intelligent person, but there were times during this demo that I got stuck and found myself wishing that the hint button worked in more than just the morphing object scenes in this game, so I'm guessing I will probably need the stategy guide! I try not to use the strategy guides at all when I purchase CE games, but after running around for 20 minutes I get rather impatient and end up peeking at the strategy guide from time to time! This tells you that there is no assistance or guidance on "what to do next" or "how to progress in the game", because the hint button does not work at all, unless you're in the morphing object scenes, which leads me to the next important detail I think fellow gamers will want to know. There are no hidden object scenes in this game! #judging ONLY from the demo alone that is!# There may be some further into the game, but for the first hour of gameplay I didn't come across any, ONLY MOS. I really am a fan of the morphing objects, I love this different approach in recent games, however, I wasn't a huge fan of that being the only way to get the object needed to progress in the game. I do like finding the "bonus" morphing objects, like were in Stray Souls, but that's not how the morphing objects work in this game. I have great eyesight, but some of the MOs were very hard for me to see/find. Although they are "morphing", they did not "catch my eye" like changing items in scenes normally do, but that's just me. There are other things moving in the scenes, such as leaves, and that kind of distracted me from the MOs. They may be easily spotted by others, this was just my experience. The clicking penalty in this game is you lose some of the MOs that you've already found. They go "back into the game". If there are no HOS throughout this game I will find that to be rather disappointing. I don't like a ton of HOS during gameplay, but based on this game and the MOS, I'm not a fan of only having MOS during gameplay. I would like for it to be mixed up a little, some MOS and some HOS. The graphics and voice-overs in this game are absolutey AMAZING! I just can't say enough good things about the beautiful, dark and eery details! WOW! I normally turn off the music in all the games that I play, but this one I didn't even notice the music, which means it was not at all annoying to me, like I find it to be in so many games. There are 2 modes of gameplay in this game. I almost always just play the casual mode, so I did in this demo as well. I didn't get to all the "gore" and "disgust" and "indecency" that so many reviewers have talked about in the many reviews that I read. Having grown up in a family of law enforcement officers, federal agents, and district attorneys and, having followed in my family's footsteps in my final career choice, I have seen SO MANY real life horrors that absolutey NOTHING in a game, or anywhere else for that matter, could disgust, disturb or horrify me. I have read several reviews discussing the "horrorific" and "gross" and "disturbing" elements/scenes in this game, so anyone reading this review should refer to other reviews regarding any disturbing or disgusting elements and/or scenes in this game, because I just don't find anything disturbing anymore. This game is VERY large, so be sure to take the recommendation given in the game description and try the demo first to make sure your computer can handle this size file. The hint button recharges fairly quickly #casual mode# and there is a "diary" that will help you keep up with the storyline and the items found. There was quite a bit of backtracking in the demo, so I can only assume that there will be backtracking throughout the entire game. This doesn't bother me, but I know some people do not like a lot of backtracking so I thought I'd throw that in. Oh yes, some of the morphing objects were on the lower part of the screen so you have to pay attention to the arrow and cursor, because there were a few times while clicking on a MO that I ended up backing out of the scene entirely. I hope this covers about anything a gamer might want to know regarding this game. I think I should also add that this game/demo was somewhat hard for me to follow. This has also been noted by other reviewers and is certainly worth noting again. I will certainly leave a more detailed review #if that's possible! Ha ha!# when I finish the other Ravenhearst games and finally play this one in it's entirety. ENJOY! HAPPY GAMING BIG FISHERS!!
I recommend this game!

I bought this game when it went on sale on the 21st of December & I am so glad I did! I always do the trial on a game first to make sure that I'm going to enjoy it, but I took the risk on this one and didn't do the trial, because of the price and because of the reviews! I was NOT disappointed! I had so much fun playing this game! You are Belle trying to save your prince (or beast) from an evil sorcerer/witch. The graphics in this game are beautiful, the puzzles are challenging, but not too hard, and the gameplay is so much fun! I loved the storyline as well! The map and diary are a HUGE help, and although I didn't play the CE, I would have to say that between the diary, hints and map in the standard game, I'm glad I didn't get the CE, because I can't imagine that it would offer anymore help than the standard game gives. A strategy guide on this game, in my opinion, would be wasted money. Of course, if the CE has bonus chapters/gameplay, then it's probably totally worth getting the CE, but ONLY if there's extra chapters/gameplay! There are, if I remember correctly, 3 game modes to play in, but there might be 2. I'm sorry I can't remember exactly, BUT there is for sure more than one option. I played in the casual mode, as I usually do. You are, of course, offered the tutorial at the beginning, which I never use unless recommended in reviews. I don't think it's needed in this game if you are familiar with these types of games. The music kinda got to me, so I turned it down and left the sound and voice volume up. I usually end up turning the music down in all the games though. You also have the widescreen option and the cursor option, which I have found is pretty standard with these games! The hint button takes some time to refill, but I didn't really need it all that much. I did find myself using it in the HOS, not because the objects are hard to find, but because I get tired of the HOS fairly easily. There are quite a few HOS in this game, and it was just to the point where I was getting tired of them and I was thinking there were too many, but I'm sure that's just me. I like more of the adventure and figuring out puzzles and clues rather than a lot of HOS. Just my preference. The excessive tapping/clicking penalty is a big purple splat all over the screen that looks like somebody throws a giant purple snow cone at you. I got tickled when I did it, because it startled me and I jumped. :-D I usually click a lot so that I can see what the penalty is for excessive clicking. There were some things in the HOS that didn't really look like what they were named and what you should be looking for, but I've found that to be true in many of these games. Also, being a court reporter for many years, I am a HUGE proofreader and I found several type-os and misspellings. That's a pet peeve of mine and I sure wish these companies would hire me to proofread these things! How cool would that job be!!??! HA HA! *grin* ;-) ANYWAY, I do notice type-os and misspellings in everything I read and it just drives me nuts when I find them in games like this! I guess everybody has their peeves and that's mine! :-) I'm sure I have tons of type-os and misspellings in many of my reviews, but I know from experience, it's hard to proofread your own work! :-) But I highly recommend this game and I had a great time playing it! I hope that this review touches on everything that anyone might want to know regarding this game & I also hope that everyone who purchases it enjoys it as much as I did! HAPPY GAMING!!! :-D

I absolutely LOVED this game!! I forgot to review it right after playing it, so unfortunately my review will not be as detailed as I would like. I hate I forgot to review it immediately! ANYWAY this game is challenging, the graphics are amazing, the music wasn't annoying and it's more adventure than hidden object! There's quite a bit of running back and forth, which I normally can't stand, but in this game, that didn't bother me much! It seemed rather short to me, but that certainly didn't take away from the fun factor. I did have to refer to the online walkthrough for one part, which I very rarely do, but I was totally stumped and just couldn't figure it out. This occurred in the first room, and after I looked up the solution, it was obvious, I just wasn't thinking along the right lines. I can't remember if there were different game modes to choose from, and I apologize for that, but if there was a choice, I'm sure I played in the casual mode, as I usually do. This was one of my favorite games and I'm sure I will play it again in the future (after I forgotten everything about it) because I really did enjoy this game! I would certainly recommend this game and hope everyone who plays it enjoys it as much as I did. HAPPY GAMING!!

I had a blast playing this game! The graphics are amazing, the puzzles are challenging and the storyline is fabulous! I did, however, dislike the ending. The ending indicates a sequel, however, it was too much of a "cliff hanger" in my opinion. I'm actually rather confused at this point regarding the story and the ending. Anyway, there are two game modes to choose from, which I really like. If you choose to play in the casual mode the hint button fills up immediately, so you don't have any wait at all if you need it again right after using it. If you do use the hint button it doesn't tell you exactly what to do, it just points you in the right direction, which is certainly something that I like. I hate when the hint button spells out exactly what I need to do next! During the HOS you can choose to either play the HO game or you can choose to do a match 3 game instead. I love having the choice, because it mixes it up for you in case you get bored playing the HO games during the game. There were quite a few hidden object scenes during this game, which I didn't like very much, but some people love that, so I thought I'd put that in my review for you HOG lovers! :-# I prefer more adventure and finding things and putting them together to a ton of the hidden object games, BUT that would NOT stop me from purchasing or recommending this game, because this game is truly a lot of fun. There's lots of running around #so to speak# BUT I love that there is a time travel device where you can travel from place to place, and/or room to room, in the blink of an eye and you don't have to backtrack and run around so much using a ton of time to get from one room to another and then back to another room, etc. Just click on your time machine, pick your room and off you go! All the backtracking may not bother some people, but I hate having to run around and go back and forth and back forth, because I forget what I was doing and forget what I've seen and which place needs what; that just completely discombobulates me! I hope that makes sense! :-) I'm going to play this game again in the harder mode, which I hardly ever do after I've already played a game, but again, this game was a lot of fun and I'm hoping to understand the ending better by playing it again, maybe I missed something in the final scene?! Oh yeah, the music ... after a little bit the music kinda got on my nerves, so I turned it down, but left the sound turned up, so I could hear the people talking and hear the "devices" and "machines" noises. All in all, this game was super fun, challenging, but not so hard I couldn't figure it out, the storyline was great, but the ending was too much of a cliffhanger for my taste, the music annoyed me, but I was able to turn it down and leave the sounds on, which I enjoyed and the graphics were absolutely amazing!! Oh yes, and be sure to read your diary/journal, because you will be totally lost if you don't. That's really the only thing that explains the storyline, because there's hardly anyone to talk during gameplay! I've tried to cover all the aspects of the game that I like reading in reviews before I play a game. I'm sure I've left out some things, but I hope that this review helps some of you decide whether or not this would be a game you'd like to try! I personally think this game is great and hope those of you who choose to play it enjoy it as much as I did! HAPPY GAMING!!!

I got this game because it was on sale for $1.99, which is a great price for a HOG! The puzzles are challenging and the graphics are great. The storyline is slow and lacking for my taste. This would be a great game for a beginner though! There are 2 modes of game play to choose from and the music is good! I would certainly recommend this game for someone who wants an inexpensive game to just pass some time!

I first want to say this game was very fun and the graphics are amazing! The puzzles are very challenging and it really requires you to think, which I enjoyed! There are 2 types of game play to choose from, which I really like to have in these games. I like being able to choose the level of difficulty! There is a multiple tap penalty, which is like breath on glass and your screen fogs up and has little drops of moisture, but this is very brief. The hint button refills quickly and, when needed, it gives good hints without giving details of exactly what should be done. The map and the journal are extremely handy and really helps with gameplay. The story has holes in it, however, and doesn't really make much sense at all ... or at least it didn't to me. The story line really could've been done a lot better!
I recommend this game!

I had a great time playing this game! I loved that during gameplay you have to hide items from the ghost realm to obtain them in the living realm! I thought this was very clever and I've never seen this in any game before! The HOS were not really challenging nor were the things that have to be done in order to move on to the next scene/room, BUT this did not take anything away from the game as far as I'm concerned! I also loved the storyline and the bonus chapter! The graphics were awesome and the sound wasn't at all annoying to me! All in all, this game was a lot of fun and I look forward to the sequel!

I had a blast playing this game! I loved that the HOS were limited, there were puzzles within the HOS, the other puzzles were challenging, but not so much so that one couldn't solve them, the graphics are GORGEOUS and inspired and the storyline was great! I enjoyed finding different objects to use in different places and it had more of an adventure problem solving feel to it ... to me anyway! :-) Plus, the guide is very helpful in the event that you get stuck! I would certainly recommend this game!

I thoroughly enjoyed this game! It was nice that they strayed from the norm on the HO scenes and have you find pieces of items rather than a corn cob and a flute! ;-) Very different HOS which I loved! I had trouble at first finding the different things to do, because the scenes & graphics are so detailed, but I'm certainly not complaining! It's beautiful! The storyline was great and kept my attention and the bonus game was fun and explained the Golden Child part of the game. I would certainly recommend this game to anyone and everyone!
