This is a very well-produced game. The gameplay is well-thoughtout and fun. The HINT button only tells you what, if anything, is available in the location you are in, but that isn't a problem. It helps you not miss something. The HOS are good with some IA. There isn't a penalty for random clicking, but the object list updates through the search. The puzzles vary from easy to difficult, and the SKIP button charges fairly fast. I would have given this five stars, but I think the story is hokey. Otherwise, I have nothing but good things to say about this completely entertaining game.
Just when I thought I'd already seen the worst game ever, along comes this dog. The format is different than most games, at least most games I like. You go to different locations from a map where you are supposed to accomplish some goal to get a clue. It's all hidden objects from there, and they are really hidden. The hint button points to a location on a matrix, not at the object. The story and presentation are awful with juvenile characters in a mind boggling exchange of chit-chat. I couldn't even stand to finish the demo. The artwork is very good, but that's all that is good about this game.
I was looking forward to playing this game based on other Elephant Games offerings. I was very disappointed. The story is one of the hokiest I've run across, very bad. The production is poor to say the least, with bad VO, bad characterizations and mediocre artwork. The HOS are clear, but the objects needed are disguised - white on white, etc. The map is very good, and the in-game hints are good. That only makes playing this game go from pure torture to semi-bearable pain.
I couldn't even finish the demo, because I got stuck in all the sap. If this was a maple tree, the developers would have gotten rich from selling the syrup. This has got to be one of the all time worst games offered by BFG. I tried, but I can't think of one redeeming feature of this game. It is just plain awful!
This is a very well produced game with live actors. I thought the story was somewhat immersive and interesting. The graphics, HOS and puzzles are all good. What I didn't like is the scavenger hunt aspect - get cleaning supplies for the maid, etc. One or two of those would have been too many. Also, there was a tendency to tell the player exactly what to do and when, and then when you get used to being led by the hand, you get dropped without a clue what to do. The in-game hint works, but not completely. Eventually, you figure it out, but it is frustrating. There is a map, but it is just a map - no hints, no jumping. All in all, I found the game to be very enjoyable and long playing.
I really liked the previous games in this series, but I was disappointed in this game. While it has some clever innovations (like buying objects vs. just collecting them), it still seems as though the developers threw something together without a whole lot of planning. It's basically simple and boring. I sure don't recommend paying the CE price; maybe the SE.
This is a well-crafted game in both presentation and gameplay. It's almost like being in the midst of a Disney movie at times. I love the rooster and miner helpers. Gameplay is very good with almost reasonable useage of objects unlike in some games, and the objects aren't too spread out. There is a map that offers jumping to scenes. The HOS are good without a random clicking penalty, some IA and a fast charging HINT button. The story is good and interesting with some twists, until the end which is abrupt in my opinion. Supposedly one has a choice on how to end the game, but you have to replay the whole game to find out if this is so. The bonus chapter is so-so and not worth the CE price.
This is a no-brainer buy in the SE edition, if and when it becomes available. The CE version first seems to be the trend, and the developers throw something together in an attempt to justify the added cost without success. Bad idea for the consumer.
A new breed of virus has spread throughout the City of Oxford. You must search the city for a missing girl who holds the key to stopping the global epidemic!
This is a very good production with live actors and artistic rendering of real scenes. Too bad it was also supposed to be a game. The game part was poorly designed with some really dumb object usage and inconsistencies. The HOS were interesting, I thought. At least in the main game, they are all interactive - not so in the bonus chapter. Speaking of the bonus chapter, it is a prequel to the main story, and there are some inconsistencies. One really good thing is the customizing of difficulty - something that all games should adopt.
It's really too bad that this wasn't a better game after all that effort in production. I can't recommend this game, particularly at the CE price
I don't recommend this game.

Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles
Charles Baskerville is the latest victim of a centuries-old curse! Help Holmes break the curse before the next murder occurs!
I think this is one of the best BF games I've played. Love the story and the depiction of Sherlock Holmes. Gameplay is very well designed. There is an interactive map that actually gives useful info and allows hopping. The HINT button works well during gameplay, and there is even a message generated when a location is complete and when a big action is possible. The artwork is good as well as the music. HOS are crisp and clear with little penalty for random clicking. This is a thoroughly enjoyable game!
This game is destined to win the award for dumbest looking monster in a BF game. Of course, the characterization fits well into the whole premise of this game. It's pure fantasy with some of the worst characters ever to appear in a game. The artwork is average at best. The HOS are some of the worst I have seen - little bitty objects in a maze. Gameplay is easy, which is good because the HINTs aren't good. This is one of the worst games I have seen on BF.
