This game is beautiful visually as well as having a perfectly matched soundtrack. The price is the major flaw. The game is short in comparison to most SE's. The pros are multiple challenge levels (Easy, Casual and Expert) and the guide. Try before you buy, but if you see this in a daily deal just buy asap.
I'll get right to it... great game, great challenge, and artistically it is one of the best I've ever played. The drawbacks are the length of the game (very long in the regular mode), revisiting of areas too much, NO HINTS outside of HOG and some areas magnify even when there's nothing to do outside of read the same clues that automatically go to the diary after seeing them for the first time. Also, the ending is really abrupt, left me with the same feeling of the series finale of The Sopranos... "did it end or did something go wrong?".
This game was beautifully created. It had me hooked from the start of the demo and didn't navigate away from the plot. HOGs always left me with at least one item that I really had to search for. The variety of other puzzles only added to fun factor of the game. I usually buy the CE's but I only needed one more punch for a free game and to my surprise this version was not short by any means. ERS Games has won me over!
I'm on the fence with this one. I love graphics and themes that don't make me sleep with my light on so I dived into this game. The visual aspect of the game is top notch, music was alright. The only reason I won't purchase the game in full is because I finished the demo in 20 minutes. There was no challenge included what-so-ever. Maybe if it gets knocked down to $2.99, I'll get it...doubtful though.
I was hesitant to try this one because it seemed to be predictable and previously done. I was wrong. If you are a fan of the board game Clue, this one's for you. There were just the right amount of HOG's and interesting puzzles. At first it seems like the amount of travelling from one area to the next will get annoying, but you are able to gain the power to jump scenes fairly soon after starting. (That's a HUGE plus in my book!) This is not the game to play if you don't like referring back to your journal. As for audio/visual quality, it's a very pleasant enviornment from start to finish.
While I can say this game was unique and had interesting challenges, I know I won't dig it up in my archive to play again. I found myself more annoyed than intrigued which is a first since joining Big Fish. The pros: beautiful scenery, variety of puzzles, and the guide. The cons: too much revisiting of locations, many puzzles were pointless to the plot and the map would open anytime I was anywhere near the bottom right of my screen. As always, try before you buy.
I cannot explain how wonderful it is to continually find the perfect combination of scenery, various puzzles and must solve mystery that BoomZap creates with their games. The setting is never too dark in theme and each storyline makes for a very intrigued player. Specifically, this game was full of puzzles that I (an avid gamer) had never seen. I stumbled with a few, but was generally able to get around the unfamiliar territory with ease. As always the guide is a must have. The best details in this game for me were rarely having to revisit areas, not being taken away from the plot for pointless puzzles and not having the same rules to each HOG. I love it, I think you will too.
All I can say is I hope Dana Knightstone needs to write many more novels. The variety of mini-games, beautiful imagery and true suspense leaves you wanting more. I'm a fan of lighter games, too often I see games of the darker, creepy and sometimes disturbing nature. This and the one before, grab you from the start. Definitely a must own game. The only problem you will find after playing is your next game not measuring up. Please, give Dana another mystery!

I'm a huge fan of the games that are more light-hearted and are visually intriguing. This is exactly my cup of tea. Some of the tasks don't flow with the story but the hint button will work you through those. My advice is to use the trial to feel it out. Also, go through the tutorial because some puzzles give you tools to return instead of tools to use to move forward and ways to speed up the loading of the hint. This is a very good mystery with clever twists.
This game is wonderful! I always say to use the trial first, but the scenery and music will captivate you. I found the puzzles could have been more challenging and the story could have flowed better, but I still enjoyed this game very much.
