Loved this game! The storyline kept me interested, the side-dialogs kept me grinning, and the visuals were fun. Reviewing from the trial, but I'll be buying it as soon as the usual Mother's Day gift card comes through!

From the trial: I like Playrix's Farmscapes and Gardenscapes games, and have bought most of them, and replay them. This one is well done. More complex HOs, and some fun characterizations. Nicely done, guys! Can't imagine paying CE price for it, though. Would most likely buy the SE if my budget was heftier. But there are a few others above this one on my 'when I can' list. After the trial, this is about #5 on that list. But it is on that list. So I do recommend it for those of us who like these things, when it comes out as an SE.

Just from the trial.... Could change farther in. I agree with the others that all the mechanics and overall game play are well done! Don't want to repeat all those details here. And I usually am impressed by those things, and they will cause me to buy the game. But, for me, there was something missing here. From the beginning to end of trial, it never really engaged me. I can live happily with an overdone story, and I'm not generally critical of halfway-decent characterization. It's a game. If the game is fun to play, that works for me. But the characters here were more than just wooden. They were almost nonexistent. When the trial ended, I had *no* feeling of wishing it hadn't ended. I was fine with just uninstalling the trial. That, for me, is a huge "don't buy" sign. The 'bones' of the game here are excellent! Keep it up, devs! But the characterizations need a lot more work....

I don't mind the floating gameboard.... but I don't have astigmatism or motion sickness issues. Other things yes, but not those. I'm really enjoying this game. Too lazy to check, but is this from the same developers as Paradise Quest? Many similarities! Also a great game. I have a free game coming, and this might just be my next serious obsession. But I would pay the dollars for this one. Fun and different!

From the free trial..... Scintillating characters, no. Deep plot line, no. But I have found myself really enjoying it, and I was surprisingly engrossed. The clues are *subtle*. Not hidden in dark corners, or buried in lousy graphics. Just very subtle. Minigames, ditto. I may actually have to buy this one to have the time to hunt and enjoy, without trying to rush through a trial to see what's what!
This review is from the trial, and you know how that can be... But I found this one both boring and strange. Don't think there has been a match-3 trial, no matter how iffy, that I haven't at least played through the hour on, until this one. My favorite genre, to obsession.
I am not a fan of adrenaline games, and generally chose relaxed modes. But this game was more than 'relaxed'. The game play was slow, and felt like a 'kachunk kachunk kachunk' kind of action, and the music was trying desperately to lull me to sleep. It very nearly succeeded.
I kept trying to see what it would do as I moved along, but nothing improved. Gave it up and uninstalled with about 7 minutes to go.
If there is a fun game here, I didn't see it in the trial.

I usually like these games, but this is one I would not shell out money for. I agree with the issues of no highlighting, and of having to fill in blanks with no autocomplete option, but they were minor irritations, and I was playing out the trial. I figured that this was aimed primarily at kids, because it also seemed pretty simple, but I thought the educational aspect was good. But when I got to into 'Australia', and the minigame included koalas, kangaroos, and **ostriches**, I just had to exit the game, and stop in to write a review.
I truly love learning things in the process of playing games, and I love the historical/ecological/geographical kinds of tie-ins. But if game developers are going to include this really appealing kind of thing, they need to get their facts straight. Ostriches are from Africa, and the couple of feral populations in Australia are left-overs from failed farming experiments a century ago.
Recommend better game design, and more homework....

This review is just from the trial, so no guarantees.... But I was really impressed by the actual game-play. Was afraid it might be just a 'clone', and it owes a bit in general style and sounds to others, but the developers have worked hard at creating their own flavor, the game play is really great fun, and the premise and the formatting of the boards is very different, and well thought out. Very much worth at least the trial for those who like lighter-flavored match 3s!
I had a very short list of games to buy after the first of the year. To my surprise, this one may actually have moved its way into the top three....

Not the greatest game, but not bad either. And it had a couple of things I really liked. Some common sense approaches! A locked cabinet... You have a crowbar. You don't go looking for the blue key with the yellow jewel. You use the crowbar. Ta-Da! You search in the back yard, and later work into a room adjoining the yard, and need something from out there. Do you go through the long route through all the rooms back to the yard, and then make your way slowly back? Nope, you open the window! Then go in and out from there. This kind of thing I like, and it is all too rare.
It is shortish, but I do find the story engaging. Had to buy it at the 2.99 special. It has been more than worth it.
I haven't found objects that hard to find, or the scenes that dark or obscure, and I am usually picky about those things. Hate them. Haven't run across an impossible puzzle, but I haven't quite finished yet.

I liked this one a lot, but unless you are also 'of a certain age', the nostalgia of the story may not hit you. And this one is all about the story. You want to find out what happens next.
The finding and placing of objects is ok, and the scenes are nice. But it is short, and replay value is minimal. If it were a lot longer, and carried farther along in time, it would be well worth buying for those of us into nostalgia. Not sure it is worth it, as is. But I did enjoy it, once!
