Epistory immerses you in an atmospheric action/adventure game where you play a girl riding a giant fox who fights an insectile corruption from an origami world.
After I burned through the trial and wanted way more, it was a no brainer, this game simply had to be played out. I bought it and spent the next two days finishing it. Am now on the 2nd playthrough, and am just as impressed.
As another reviewer said, this is one of those rare games that makes you remember why you started playing computer games in the first place, and it is totally unlike anything you've played recently on here.
The graphics are perfect, and the game doesn't hold your hand, you have to figure things out as you go. There are four very epic chapters to get through, and your four eventual powers are ice, fire, spark, and wind. All of these you can switch between as needed as you progress.
You need to at least demo this one. It's a beautiful, mesmerizing game. The ending surprised me, but felt right at the same time. If I had a couple dozen hands, it'd get a couple dozen thumbs up from me. I thoroughly enjoyed this game.
This popped up as #1 on Games you'll love for me the other day, and on a whim I downloaded the hour trial... bought it 58 minutes later. I have now played this for 3.5 days, and have gotten through exactly 27 levels... yes, you read that right... a whole 27 levels in 3.5 days, the levels are that big. I have no idea how many levels it takes to complete the game, but I'm on it and intend to find out... eventually!
To a recent previous reviewer: The pick lock puzzle is one of the few that can't be skipped. The deal is to clear the rows that have the spring showing on the right hand side. Columns don't matter. Clear a row with a spring, the spring disappears. Clear them all, the puzzle is solved... that's it.
A level on this game can take an hour to clear, and that's no exaggeration. The levels are gigantic, and once you get the idea, you'll be making frequent use of the map in the lower left to jump around and get where you need to go, as well as guessing where you need to go from time to time to find areas you haven't been to yet.
It's actually a fairly fascinating take on a match 3, and will keep you playing for hours and hours on end. If epic and long is your thing, this is the game for you. As others have mentioned, the one fault I find with this game is that you cannot save your progress within a level - you have to finish it before you quit for the day or your progress within that level is lost until you start it over the next time you fire it up. So the theory is, do not start a level you're not prepared to finish in that sitting!
There is a lot to do, a lot to find, and a lot to unlock within each level. If you've got the patience and the time, give this one a try. It will either suck you in or bore you, I doubt there's any in between with this one.
Bought this one at least 4 years ago and still find myself going back to it after all this time. One of the better adventure/match 3 games out there, there is a LOT to do, and you won't be bored. Can't give it anything but two thumbs up, wish I could find more like it!
I bought this game years ago and still go back to it once in awhile like I did tonight... can't say I've ever ran across a match 3 quite like it. This game is quite old now, and has its quirks, but still plays very well on modern hardware. If you haven't done the demo, do it. You may well find yourself intrigued and hooked.
...therefore I had to do the 1 hour trial of this game based on the name alone, out of pure curiosity. These particular Zellians are a bit more rural than even my fellow Zelienoplians (if that's a word), but the game is cute and actually quite addictive. The trial went by pretty fast and I was nowhere near ready to quit, so this has been added to my collection.
I love that this isn't timed... you can just build your town at your own pace by meeting the objectives they give you on each level. This type of game isn't my usual thing, but it did suck me in, and now I have to play it out.
Kudos to the developers on this one - there is absolutely nothing about this game that I don't like, and for a match 3, that's saying something. The graphics are positively beautiful, the storyline and music/sound appropriate without being annoying, and the gameplay addictive and challenging.
If you like the match 3 genre and don't own this game, do yourself a favor and buy it now. Or better yet do the trial first and see for yourself.
It took me 3 rather intense evenings to complete the entire game, and I'm already playing it again. In short, this is simply what a match 3 should be.
The only potential negative to some players is that the game is timed with no way to turn off the timer. I am no spring chicken at age 51, but I really enjoyed the challenge, the game mechanics, and pretty much everything about this one. Two thumbs up from me.
I really wanted to like this game, as it appears to be a sequel to "Sheep's Quest", a game I really enjoyed. Although the graphics are good, there simply isn't enough time to adequately figure out the puzzles and direct the sheep where they need to go. In addition to the VERY short amount of time you have on each level, you can only have five directional arrows on the board at once. If you want to place a sixth, you have pick one of the others up first.
The combination of these two things makes what could have been a fun arcade puzzler an exercise in frustration and dead sheep. Not a buy for me.
This game popped up as the daily deal on April 1, and it sounded interesting enough to try... wow, glad I did. Finished the demo in 50 minutes, and immediately bought it, literally could not put the game down until it was over. You can get through the entire thing in somewhere between 3 and 5 hours, but what a pleasant ride getting there.
This is one of those rare games that opened me up to an entirely new genre here, and I just can't find anything bad to say about, except possibly length - at the end I wanted more, but at the same time was satisfied with the ending. Try the demo and see what you think, at the end of the demo you're roughly 1/3 of the way through the game.
Two thumbs up from me.
I recommend this game!

Stressed by the strain of your routine? Revitalize your chakras and encounter your inner chi, one color match at a time.
This is probably the best cross between a puzzle and match 3 game that I've ever played. It will REALLY make you think, and keep you coming back again and again. The levels are an interesting mix of very easy to mind bogglingly difficult, and it hooks you quick. One of my better purchases that I can't seem to get enough of.
I recommend this game!

Land of Runes
Land of Runes challenges you to eliminate stacks of colored blocks from ancient memorials located at the base of a fiery volcano!
I really enjoy this game, pretty much everything about it. Took me a while to get the hang of it, but once I did, I couldn't turn it off. At it's core, it's a match 3 game, but the 3D environment and the way the game is played makes it feel like a lot more. The music and sounds are appropriate, and not annoying at all... it's just plain good. Do the demo and play it out, you may well find yourself wanting more.
