Disappointing ending! This was by far the best of this series... the other two were just "ok" in my book, but I did enjoy this one (although the puzzles were VERY easy).
The story held my interest but the ending left me hanging.... nor did it make it clear whether or not there is another coming in the series to clear things up.
So.... my actual rating is a solid 3.5. Fun game but sudden ending that answered absolutely nothing... Did she do the right thing or not? Who knows?

I don't think you have to be a Board Game lover either to enjoy Trade Mania....
It took me a mere ten minutes into the free trial to know that I was going to buy this one... I chose to play the computer characters and am having so much fun!
I HATE Monopoly by the way -- boring to the core because you're either the clear winner or the clear loser and it takes you hours to finally do so. This game takes hours as well, BUT~ it's hours of enjoyment!
It is obviously a game you can play over and over and over again.... which is a huge plus in my book! I do love the adventure games but have to wait months after playing one to do so again because my memory kicks in... Trade Mania is different every time you play....

Really enjoying this one.... It's sort of a combination of strategy/building games (with no time constraint) and Match 3 (with a time constraint ;).
Caribbean Hideaway is different than most M3 in a couple of ways.... you replace one item with another to make matches. Also, to get your power-ups, you are building a village... and there is some strategy needed to do so. Do you build the one that gives you a power-up? Or do you build the one that employs more citizens so you earn more in taxes and have less gold stolen from your coffers?
The challenge is just right also.... Not easy cheesy, but not "tear-your-hair-out" difficult either. Around level 30, it starts to get much more challenging.
Also, unlike most M3 games, this one has a very engaging story.
All in all, I highly recommend CH to all M3 lovers -- and even those who don't normally play M3 should give this one a try... ;)

Enjoyed this one quite a bit -- even though it uses the junkpile type HO scenes.... at least most items are cleverly hidden...
It's a pretty standard HO/adventure game with a very good story -- more HO than puzzles -- but there are a few puzzles that are truly different and I enjoyed that. One puzzle (pipes) is repeated several times and I would have preferred that each puzzle was different from the others, but most presented a good challenge without frying my brain cells... ;)
I tend to take my time, do my laundry, make/drink coffee, listen to tv in background, etc. when playing these games, so they take me a bit longer than others, but this game certainly lasted a good long time. When I thought I was close to being done, I was only little more than half-way through.... I really appreciate that! I can't tell you how much I hate spending money on a game that only lasts 2-3 hours.

Pros: Great story Good graphics (animation is a bit lacking tho) Good length Good mix of HO and puzzles Good map (but it's not interactive)
Cons: Hints are frustrating in that they will continue to point to areas already examined or that require a tool not yet found -- also circles people already talked to... Characters repeat statements when you click on them a second time rather than saying "off with you" or something to that effect On the same note, characters are very repetitive in their statements during the dialog -- for almost every character, before the dialog box closes, they will say nearly the same thing they just told you... I found that very irritating. You can skip dialog, but you will miss clues in this game if you do that... Several areas remain 'active' even after exhausting everything that can be done... No VO?! Boy, would have loved a great voice over for pirates! The game could have been greatly enhanced with a good VO cast....
I had quite a few technical problems also (game shut itself down several times)....
Had it not been for the 'cons' noted above, I would have rated the game 4.5 to 5 stars.... However, I still recommend it... it's definitely a good game but could have been great....

Note to potential purchasers.... if you hate games that are mostly puzzles, don't buy this one.... However, I really enjoyed this sequel to Part 1 (which was just "ok" for me).... because I LOVE puzzles....
The only reason it doesn't get the five stars is that the story line is kinda convoluted with a strange ending (imo).... and the graphics, tho beautiful, have very little animation -- they're kinda like stop action with more stop and very little action.... ;) But the puzzles really kept me interested...
They range from very easy to a few that are pretty challenging, but not impossible.... There are some I've seen before, some with new twists on old puzzles, and some of our old favorites.... So if you are a puzzler at heart, you will enjoy this game....

If it weren't for the "adult content" overtones to this game, I would think it was aimed at kids more than grownups.... Precocious young teen girls would love it! :)
If I could, I would've given Part 1 3.5 stars, but I just couldn't give it 4. I'm not much for gothic-type love stories, which is pretty much what this story line is.... If you like gothic novels, you might appreciate this game more than me... ;)
Also, Part 1 does not have nearly the number of puzzles that the sequel does.... The graphics are beautiful but are mostly still pictures.... very little animation.... which is true of the sequel as well, but the puzzles save that one for me....
Anyway, it's worth buying and is fun, but doesn't rise to the level of its sequel imo....

This game is ok but, if you like this kind of game, then you should spend your money on Fairway or Fairway Solitaire, both of which are far superior to this version.... or even Fairy Solitaire, which is also a good version. (This one might be better for younger kids though, as it is easier.)
My main gripe with Pirate Sol is that the only thing you can buy with your gold is A cannon ball (equivalent to the irons in Fairway) - just one at a time. I played many, many levels and still haven't come across anything else that can be purchased. And the game is so easy, you rarely even need them.
Second to that is that, although there are achievements earned, I have no idea what I did to earn them! I tried scrolling over them, clicking them, double clicking them.... no information whatsoever.... not even the TITLE of the achievement! You only get that when you earn it, IF you're lucky enough to notice that you did.
Also, as I stated above, it is very easy to play.... perfects are plentiful in Pirate Sol. Very little challenge here.
I do recommend this game for younger kids or those who love this form of solitaire and have plenty of money to buy all the versions available. Otherwise, spend your money on Fairway, Fairway Solitaire, or Fairy Solitaire ;)

What a great game! For those of you who are tired of the dark, haunted, spooky games -- you should be happy with this one! However, some might not like the wizardry in Royal Trouble (like those who disliked Harry Potter for similar reasons). Otherwise, do try this game!
The hint system is very different... and I really, really liked it. Your diary/task list is also your hint system. It gives you the task and has a link for more help if you need it. This can be clicked for further help - usually two or three times.
There are no sparkles in the game -- and no HO scenes!!! It's a true adventure game and a good challenge for those who are problem solvers and enjoy thinking games.
The mini-puzzles range from very easy to somewhat challenging (without getting you frustrated) and can be skipped if need be...
The characters are well developed and the interplay between them is witty and fun. You play both people off and on throughout, switching back and forth -- sometimes passing items from one character to the other. They manage to do this without losing you.
There is some backtracking in the game, but never very far. I really enjoyed this one.... Do give it a try! You'll probably like it as much as I did.... :)

Another great HO game and I hope to see more! This one had more puzzles, which pleased me greatly.... but for me to really like a mostly HO game means it's really quite good! ;)
