I have to agree with some other reviews. This game was rather short. Shorter than the other Drawn games. It took me about 3 hours to finish. I will have to say that the visual quality was stunning and the "3D" like effects were kind of neat because it was different to see in a game like this (kind of trippy looking in a way).
The puzzles did make you think and were challenging enough, yet easy enough to complete without help. 1 or 2 of the puzzles were a little bit on the frustrating side, but eventually I got them done without skipping the puzzle. I was temped to, but I bore through it. Over all I liked the story and it connected with the other 2 Drawn games in an interesting way.
I recommend this game!

Out of the 3 Dark Tales series this one is by far the best. I liked how when you were searching for hidden objects that you had to do certain sequences of actions to find an object. The answers to the puzzles were not outright done for you like in The Back Cat story. The puzzles did require some thought, but were easy enough to do. The story was good and I liked how there was spoken dialogue this time. I thought it was kind of funny that the dective spoke with an American accent when the setting took place in France. I liked the backgorund music to the game. The drawings were much better than the previous 2 Dark Tales stories. It felt like more thought was put into this game than the other Dark Tales stories.
I recommend this game!

This story was good like the prior game to this Murder's In The Rue Morgue. Although, in this game I found it was a little less fun because most of the problems were repetitive (i.e. You need a key for everything to unlock every door and chest).
There was A LOT of search and finds in this game more so than puzzles and the puzzles were made too easy. Basically, once you unlocked a box or a door, it gave you the answer for another puzzle, which practically did the puzzle for you so you would not have to think about solving it, but you were missing a piece to solve it so you are given yet again another search and find to get the missing piece.
The search and finds were somewhat made more difficult because the graphics was made poorer on those and the image you were shown was really jammed with stuff so your eyes could not focus properly. They did draw the people and the surrounding scenery good, but just not the close ups of things.
Other then what I have mentioned above. I did continue to play because I wanted to know what happened to Monsieur Mark Davies' wife. Which was worth playing until the end.
I recommend this game!

I thought the story was interesting. Visually the graphics was mixed between good quality and oldish poorer quality. Overall it was fun to play. I bought the game at a store that came with another game called The Black Cat, which follows after this story. They are 2 seperate mysteries, but the second mystery does mention this one.
I recommend this game!

This is a fun game and it does have an interesting story to it. I am glad they made the sequal to the Mystery of Joyville which I had played on my iPod. I wanted to know what happened to some of the characters from the first story. Now it is explained in the second story. The visual quality was ranked lower because is was not as stunning as some other Big Fish games I have played recently. Kind of hard to search for items when the graphics is not the best as it should be.
I recommend this game!

Like the first game, this game did take me approximately 6-7 hours to finish, but it was not without it's challanges. Some puzzles took me awhile to figure out and I did have to use Franklin to help me when I so stuck that it was frustrating. I would not complain too much about the length of the game being too short like some of the other reviews because most of Big Fish's games are known to be similar in length of approzimately 6-8 hours gameplay time for me. What I look for is how good the story is, how challenging the puzzles are, and how well dawn the graphics are, which this game did a rather good job doing.
I recommend this game!
