This is a "click on a group of 2 or more blocks to collapse them" game. Instead of a flat game board, revolving towers of blocks rise and have to be collapsed before they reach the top of the screen - something I've not seen before - but that's all there is to it. Nothing to collect or build, no minigames or story.
Am I glad I discovered this! I try this genre occasionally when I'm looking for something new, but never liked any of them until now. Can't add anything else to what's already been said, except that having just enjoyed 7 Wonders Magical Mystery Tour, I love the fact that this game has a similar kind of little workers. A real plus is the lack of time limit, (well there is a timer, but if you take more time it just means you don't get a medal).
Very disappointing as I've really enjoyed other games in this series - Around the World in 80 Days-The Challenge, The Three Musketeers-D'Artagnon and the 12 Diamonds, Aladin and the Wonderful Lamp. Don't know if this is an early attempt or a decline from better things, it's a shame either way.
I've already enjoyed two other games in this series - Around the World in 80 Days-The Challenge, and The Three Musketeers-D'Artagnon and the 12 Diamonds, but this is my favourite (OK, I'm a sucker for a beautifully drawn Arabian Nights tale). I found most of the mini games original and needing some thought. The storyline held my attention, Aladin has unexpected ups and downs, a bit like Kismet. Rather too much dialogue, but you can click through it. I read most of it first time through but will be glad to skip more of it when re-playing. I don't know what language this was written in, but one or two clues got lost in translation - "arc" turned out to be a bow - as in bow and arrow! - got mixed up with rainbow??

Can't add to what's already been said abount Hello Venice but I can suggest a game for those who'd like something similar.( Lots of people compare Hello Venice with 4 Elements, which I found boring). Lamp of Aladdin is swap rather than chain match so you don't get the bonus explosions for long chains but you do get lots of hammers, bombs and whirlwinds to use where you please, plus other really fun and original power up's to get from one part of the level to another. There isn't the same kind of earning and building aspect, - parts of buildings and other things are collected and assembled automatically - but there are good FROG episodes and really colourful Arabian Nights artwork. There's also Tibet Quest, which I personally didn't like as much.
Having just completed Jewel Match 2 (Good original power-ups but rather colourless castles to build), I thought I'd try this. It's a very basic jewel match game - only a Hammer power-up apart from those generated on the board, and nothing to build or any mini games, but I like it. The subdued winter backgrounds are a good contrast to the jewel boards. Perhaps most holiday themed games are more appreciated at the opposite time of year?

I bought this as the day's special offer - it wouldn't have been worth a full game credit. I played it to the end but I don't think it will be one I keep returning to unless a walkthrough tells me where all the compasses are - I only managed to find 21 out of 25. Not nearly as good as the Samantha Swift Mysteries

I'll admit that word games aren't really my thing, (so far the only one I've liked enough to buy is Word Jong To Go), so maybe that's my problem. I found this game difficult - had to keep shuffling to make many words, couldn't understand all the bonuses, and the story didn't seem to have anything to do with it.
After reading such conflicting reviews I had to try this. I love the riddle clues and the variety of tasks. Some hidden objects are easy, others are tricky even with a hint - the grid type hint is a good original twist. Not so thrilled that I will buy immediately, but for now it's at the top of my list of games to buy with my next monthly game club credit.
