The game would have been okay 10 years ago. I understood the story line, and thought it had interest, BUT the outdated game play killed my interest. Shame, if they had updated it or remade it with an intro that made sense, better woiceovers, and current type of game play, I would have thought it was a fun Halloween time game, and probably would have purchased it. Completed Game. I enjoyed this very much-even the Bonus Game. Lovely artwork, a nasty villain, dragons--a brave father to admire and a handsome hubby to save! I hope there are sequels to this one.
Not getting the great reviews here, at all. This game seems to be old. Lots of going back and forth and the HOPs are nonsensical-you receive things you didn't find. And there are blinking lights and some of the objects fade in and out, which would be ok if there were no blinking lights, gave me a headache. Puzzles are ok, kinda boring. I really don't care if they save the world or not. Tedious!
I do not understand why this game is not one of the featured titles! It raises the bar by a good distance! Graphics, voice overs, music, story, and game play are all excellent! There are no funky illogical moves, it makes sense-and there are battles that are a bit fast and furious! Beautiful and fun! you will not regret the purchase of this title!
I have enjoyed this game well enough to start playing it over again-rare for me. I want to get all the collectibles and awards, lol. And that is high praise, indeed. These have been nice spooky titles, easy to see, fun to play, and a little more original than many on offer.
I went back and got two of this series I had missed before completing this one, and had a lot of fun with all of them. The Imp is my fave of the "helper" characters (with Elf the dog close behind). He is entertaining and works well, though sometimes they do strange things to fit him in! I look forward to more of these, perhaps into the third generation of characters.
This one is quite good! The concept is original, as is some of the game play. You are not wandering through dark filthy piles, but instead are adventuring on a lovely planet and on Earth circa 1950. The map and travel are easy, but you have to charge up to travel long distances, so don't go crazy with it at first. The story is interesting, and understandable. and the graphics are very nicely done.Things are going badly, and you care about the outcome.
Complete dangerous missions amid dazzling landscapes of prehistoric Earth and alien worlds. Can you complete these thrilling puzzles in order to return home?
I have played a fair way into the game. It is definitely an old style game-say, 1999. No voice overs, no really useable map, garbled messages obviously translated using a bad program. The conversations go on while you are trying to solve puzzles, so you have to stop and read some badly translated rehash of what you already know, which interferes with your concentration. The puzzles are good, using different ways to solve than in other games, but that is the only good thing. I don't really care what happens, and probably won't finish it.
Not sure why the haters. If it were not for the cat character leading you around, I would have given it five stars. Cut idea, has a sense of humor. NOT a kids game-there are some mild curse words, and a scary evil doctor. I liked it well enough that i am gonna play it thru again on the harder mode and try the alternate ending, and I rarely do that. Don't expect incredible challenge-its just a fun little fantasy game for amusement!
