Lovely game, sweet idea, ROMANTIC, good story line and well done HO scenes. None are just HO, though, all contained some objects that either had to be put together or required some other component from another scene before you could complete it. That was the worst part for me--having to continually go to another scene to get say, a screwdriver or a lightbulb so that you could fix something in order to see to find another item you needed. So every scene was 'but first go do ______", which became a little bit tedious and also a little confusing--you had to remember WHY you were doing this HO scene and what you needed to take back to which other scene/room! Other than that, the scenes were all well done, most objects fairly easily found. You must collect/find letters written to the woman featured in the story from the love of her life--a man she married before he was sent off to war...but no spoilers! The story was sweet, the HO scenes good, the ending nice! All in all a pretty solid game experience, especially for those of us eligible for AARP! Many hours of play, too.
If you need something to help you turn off the computer and go to sleep, then try this game--otherwise don't waste your time and brain cells!
I found this game to be rather simplistic--the HO scenes were repetitive and often even asked for the same objects over and over! The storyline (I hate to call it a plot it was so flimsy) was laughable--maybe a young child might be entertained by it, but not an adult. It was actually quite childish and now that I think about it, perhaps it is supposed to be for younger players and that is why the adults are giving it so-so to bad reviews. In summary: boring game, repetitive HO scenes, childish story line, silly mini games (find 4 differences in the 2 pictures) and even goofy communication with the 'office' or interpol computer! Give this game a pass--unless you are looking for a game geared towards the younger generation or one you can play with a child.
If you like HO games, Letters from Nowhere 2 is for you! It's not even necessary to have played Letters from Nowhere to play this sequel. The HO scenes are hand drawn and well rendered with most of the objects easy to moderate to find. There are 4 items you can buy at the beginning of each chapter to assist you in finding the objects, as well as give you more points. You get points for each object you find, too; the points add up to achievements and unlock hidden object mode for later play. There is no figuring out where to go or what to do next--just HO scenes and mini games/puzzles. The HO scenes are plentiful and while some scenes are repeated, the items are different or changed around. The game play is simple, straight forward and all about finding the HOs--which suited me just fine! If you like HOs, then try either this game or the first Letters from Nowhere--both are well done, nice artwork, a little story line/plot thrown in just to keep things interesting. Hours of HO finding pleasure!
If you like HO games and are tired of the vampires, werewolves and gorey offerings that are currently flooding our genre then this game is FOR YOU! The plot features a young married couple, a postman and an old mystery. Audrey, through the game player, seeks to find and rescue her husband from--well, she doesn't know who. There are plenty of scenes and TONS of HOs to find. As you progress through the story/scenes, you earn points for each HO you find. There are also HOs to find in every scene (3 postage stamps), black cats that once you find 50 you unlock unlimited HO mode; and 4 objects you can 'buy' using your points that actually assist you in your searches: for example a camera that flashes and shows the location of everything on your list at that moment. So there are some unique things about this game that set it apart from the usual HO games, besides the story/plot. As you complete each chapter, you learn more about the story, Audrey's husband, who has him & why and who/what the letters are from...and who is helping Audrey?! There is a sequel to this game, Letters from Nowhere 2. I also played it and liked it, too! Great game from a HO standpoint--lots of HO scenes and things to find. I spent several hours over several days playing this game and enjoyed it.
I recommend this game!

Agatha Christie: Dead Man's Folly
Join detective Hercule Poirot as you take part in a charade that could be the perfect disguise for a despicable scheme.
Beautiful artwork, gorgeous HO scenes, easy to play, nice mystery. No difficulty in figuring where to go or what to do next, just pure and simple HO. Mini games/puzzles are fairly easy with little or no frustration factor. Some problems with confusing names for items (example: cone on list meant a pine cone) but for the most part a lovely way to spend an evening or two. Some HO scenes must be revisited 2 or 3 times, but items usually are different each time. Dialog is text only with other characters. No vampires, no occult, no journals or walk throughs needed--just a good, old fashioned HO game with a mystery thrown in.
Nice way to wile away the hours, popcorn for the brain with plenty of eye candy in the form of beautifully detailed artist's watercolours for HO scenes!
I recommend this game!

Agatha Christie - Death on the Nile
Hercule Poirot investigates a thrilling murder mystery and must find hidden clues, interrogate suspects, and much more.
The absolutely gorgeous HO scenes are well worth the price of the game, to me, but they kind of have to be, since that is really all there is to this game...
Unfortunately, the makers of this game did not use any modern graphics or programming to make the adventure or mystery part of this game more interesting or entertaining. The characters are NOT animated--you highlight one from a picture to 'interrogate' your witness/suspects! It's as though they spent all their funds on commissioning the artwork for the HO scenes (of which there are plenty) and had NONE for the programmers/developers for the rest of the game! There is no speech, you have to read all the dialog.
If you, like me, enjoy HO games then this is a MUST PLAY game. The artwork is some of the finest, with most objects/scenes obviously hand drawn or watercolours. The objects are mostly moderately easy to find, with 1 or 2 difficult to find objects in each scene. Often, you will have to return to a scene 2 or even 3 times, but usually with different items on your list to find. There is a time limit, but I found it to be no problem to complete everything within the time allotted. Hints are available and you can earn extra hints in game play. You can select which item you want a hint for, too. This is helpful when the American vs British English name for an item is different! The mini games/puzzles are fairly easy with a few exceptions, but one can skip them should one desire.
For those who are looking for a lovely, relaxing HO game, BUY THIS. For those gamers who are looking for a HO game with some adventure or strategy involved, I'd try before I bought. Overall, a BEAUTIFUL game with lovely artwork. I bought it bundled with 2 other Christie games (Peril at End House and Dead Man's Folly). They all employ the same methods, have similar gameplay and the same gorgeous artwork. I highly recommend you try them all! Nice for de-stressing & relaxing--popcorn for the brain, as I call it!

This game was a waste of my time--the graphics were horrible as were the amateurish 'dialog' and HO scenes. It moved slowly and was so bad, I had to Force myself to play the entire 60 minutes of the demo! DO NOT waste your own time or money on this game--if you don't believe me, download it and try the demo for yourself. I think you will agree and want the time you wasted on this game back!
I don't recommend this game.

A SUPER game for those who want a simpler, gentler, classic Hidden Object gaming experience! Yes, there are mysteries--5 different ones if my memory serves--so you get HOURS of HO scene pleasure with a bit of whodunit to boot! Most, like the TV Series of the same name, are set in Jessica Fletcher's (the sleuth) home of Maine. Not bloody, spooky, or eerie, no occult, no witches or werewolves, no vampires--just good, clean murder mysteries with PLENTY of HO scenes to spend hours sucked into your computer finding! Yes, within each 'book' you may have to revisit scenes several times, but I found that I was asked to find different objects each time, so it wasn't too repetitive/boring.
I LOVE HO games, so this game appealed immensely to me--no guessing no figuring out the next move or where to go, just pure and simple HO scenes and finding them. Yes, I figured out the mysteries, but I enjoyed every hour I spent playing this game. Suitable for ages 8-90, minimal blood and no gore or violence shown. GREAT for Beginners as well as more experienced HO gamers who want a pure HO game.
If you like HO games and need something to help you unwind and relax your mind--this is it! Like popcorn for the mind, Murder, She Wrote will have you seeking and clicking until the last kernel is gone--and the last lobster found!

the Women's Murder Club novels by James Patterson feature a reporter, a police detective and a medical examiner from San Fran--in this game, you play each chapter as a different member of the club! A member of a Southern military academy is found dead on a rocky beach near the Golden Gate--is it murder or an accident? You investigate through HO scenes, interrogations, undercover operations and forensic testing. There are lush HO scenes, moderate to challenging mini puzzles and games as well as a crime to solve! Beyond the crime is the question of what is going on at the military academy? The women, through your game play, get to the bottom of it! If you like mysteries, enjoy HO games with a twist, like some light adventure/strategy with your HO gaming, then this is a PERFECT game for you. Yes, the 'forensic' testing was a bit of a joke--but other than that, I thought this game looked and played GREAT. Some of the puzzles were not my thing-connecting pipes or such, so I skipped them without penalty. I never looked for a walk through, but assume there is one out there, should you need it, but even as a casual beginner, this game won't make you frustrated. I thought it was long enough, even though I could have played it longer. I did find this game bundled, so I played the first 3 Murder Club games one after the other, and loved all 3! So try this game, I think you will like it!

Based on James Patterson's Women's Murder Club, this game isn't just a traditional HO game with a few mini games thrown in at all. You actually play each chapter as one of the women in the murder club--a reporter, a police detective, a medical examiner. Each of the roles has specific tasks--performing chemical analyses, gathering info/research or questioning suspects. There are moderately challenging mini games/puzzles (which you can skip, if you'd rather) and traditional HO scenes with beautiful graphics. I really enjoyed playing as different characters as well as solving the murder. The gameplay was different from any other adventure or HO game that I've played to date. I totally recommend this game to those who like mysteries, HO games and those who like a bit of 'something different' in their game playing. I don't think hard core adventure gamers would find this game challenging enough, but for the casual, relaxed gamer it is awesome!
