fromPoe was America’s 1st well-known professional writer, his brother William was also a poet, his sister Rosalie a teacher of penmanship. In 1849 Poe vanished for 5 days, he returned ill & was taken to the hospital where he died of congestion of the brain? ⛄

I had a CE coupon that expires after today so I used it to purchase this game, because why not, it's free? This game is a perfect example of why the Dark Tales series has run its course. Amax has obviously run out of ideas for a new storyline 10 years later. Yes, I understand that these stories are loosely based upon Edgar Allan Poe's original poems and stories, but these loose interpretations don't translate well as a game. The gameplay is monotonous, the tasks are painstakingly boring, the storyline drags and there are hundreds of uninteresting diary pages and notes to read, after a chapter or two, you just want it to end, there's certainly nothing to keep you on the edge of your seat. I've always said that it's difficult to tell the difference between characters from one game to the next because they all look the same. This time, the game actually does have the same characters!
There are 13 Hidden Object Scenes in the Main Chapters and 10 Zoom Zone Hops that are quite frankly boring and unappealing. The scenes lack clarity, color, and creativity. I found the first HOS to be ridiculous on all levels. There's a fire (because there's always a fire in every Amax Interactive game) and the Fire Extinguisher is not only located in an odd place, inside a locked cage but also secured to the cage with 3 more locks! The 3 Keys to unlock the fire extinguisher are bound with 3 separate Chains! (surely the fire has burned out of control by the time I finish this HOP?) Most of the HOP's are either Listed Item Finds or Interactive List Finds, but there are also a few Silhouetted Shape Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Multiples of the Same Object Finds, Matching Pair Finds, Replace Items into the Scene Finds, and 10 Zoom Zone HO's where you are tasked with finding a handful of objects. The only one I found to be remotely interesting was finding 12 Keys and then use the correct key to unlock each of the decorated locks. It was only interesting because the locks and keys were colorful and intertwined with green thorny vines.
There are 29 actual Mini-Games, most of which are back-to-back There are mini-games within Hidden Object Puzzles, and even within complex Inventory Items. Most of the time I would be elated because I love the puzzles, however, there are just too many of my nemesis puzzles, where clicking on one will affect others, I like skill based puzzles, not puzzles that seem to have no rhyme or reason. I found myself skipping puzzles the second I read that "one affects" others direction, something I Never do because I want to solve puzzles, I love to solve puzzles, just not that kind. I was also disappointed that only a couple of the games had a Reset button to let you start over. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games I did find interesting during the entire game:
1-Fill your board with more water tokens than your opponent's fire tokens.
2-Arrange beads on each of the rings so they align within the grooves after clicking the start button.
3-Track the movement of the Green Card & select it after the cards shuffle.
4-Use directional arrows to set the Roman Numerals to 12 o'clock.
5-Select directional arrows to turn on all lamps, once lit they can't be unlit.
6-Place shaped puzzle pieces correctly.
7-Spot the difference between a Photo and a Sketched drawing.
8-Use + & - buttons to adjust the size & rotation buttons to align 4 partial images.
The CE Bonus Chapter is more creative than the entire Main Game. It rewinds the clock to take you back to the Courtroom during Dr. Brian's trial. You'll have to examine the evidence and decide a verdict. There are 8 Hidden Object Scenes and 10 Mini-Games and you'll finish finding 7 Morphing Silhouette Shadows and Complete the Rave Feather Collection with the final 7 Feathers remaining.
This Collector's Edition version has 9 Wallpapers, 7 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Screensavers, 4 Music Soundtracks, 10 Movie Video Cutscenes, 14 Re-playable Mini-Games, 14 Re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 12 Achievements to Earn, 26 Collectible Raven Feathers, 26 Morphing Silhouettes, 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-in Strategy Guide.

Welcome, weary traveler to the Infinity Motel, It has been anticipating your arrival! But how could anyone have known you just received a distress call from your friends Bob and Sarah? Your gut feeling tells you to run, everything about this scenario is wrong, but these are your friends and they are inside, and they are in serious danger, it's check-in time! Once the door closes, you quickly begin to realize that The Infinity Motel's sole purpose is to find your deepest fears to use them against you, to drive you completely mad! Finding your friends will become the easy part of this personal nightmare, escaping with your sanity intact is a whole different ballgame.
There is a Gadget/Helper, a tiny Robot. At first, I didn't like him and couldn't understand why they had to include this feature. After a couple of chapters, however, I came to the conclusion that No Escape has such an interesting storyline and some of the most amazing graphics, that this tiny little helper couldn't possibly ruin the game for me or anyone else for that matter! I felt so bad that I had deducted a star on my review of the CE version for such a minuscule feature, that I contacted Mariaglorum Games to apologize!

The Hidden Object Scenes are actually very good and are located in interesting scenes. They are varied each time with Interactive Listed Finds, Multiples of the same Item Finds, Pictured Item Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, and Sketched Picture Finds. Two of my favorites was an Interactive-Progressive-Silhouetted Shape Find where you had to find one item that matched the Silhouetted Shape and then use that item within the scene interactively to expose the next object and a Related Picture Pair Find where you had to find two pictures or images on a blackboard that related to the Listed Items shown. This isn't a new concept but I found it to be quite challenging because the images they chose required you really had to think about which items combined would relate to the word. I'm rarely impressed or challenged by HOP's nowadays, so well done @Mariaglorum!
The Mini-Games are decent, but they do tend to be on the less complicated side of the spectrum, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Puzzles don't always have to be brain-teasers to be enjoyed. Below are brief instructions of some of the games you'll encounter:
1-Swap tile strips to complete the image.
2-Click to move tiles into place in the correct order on a 4 part puzzle. (loved it!)
3-Scoop fireflies into a jar.
4-Click when lines are within the circle.
5-Guide the girl along every path w/o retracing paths.
6-Drag puzzle sections into the frame.
7-Arrange the trophies according to the labels on the shelf.
The Collector's Edition version has 16 Wallpapers, 30 Concept Art Pictures, 24 Movie Video Cutscenes, 8 Music Soundtracks, 5 Re-playable Mini-Games (w/limited re-plays) 10 Achievements to Earn, 7 Character Figurine Collectibles, 23 Hidden Keys, 1 Fresco Jigsaw Puzzle (assemble to earn an achievement) 6 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-in Strategy Guide. Enjoy your lengthy stay, IT only gives you one checkout option!

(btw: this is an awesome storyline with plenty of plot twists!)
Dr. Thimble must be really good at hypnosis techniques because this session seems incredibly real. One minute I'm at the shrink's office, the next, everyone else shrunk! I hope the good doctor doesn't expect me to pay for this office visit, what a nightmare! I wake up to find myself shackled and held prisoner by little tin soldiers the size of the rice crispies I ate for breakfast. To make matters worse, the shrink keeps telling me to find Gulliver if I want to wake up from this jolly green giant fairytale nightmare and some smart-donkey (if only lol) just stole my compass, I am not paying for this shrinking giant session, I'm not even the only giant on the block!
There's yet another Gadget, (only used 5x's) for some strange reason, gadgets seem to come in waves, every game will have them at one point and then none of the games will have them. I can't understand why they add a gadget or helper which automatically cuts the targeted audience in half. Most gamers won't choose a game because it HAS a gadget, but they will choose to NOT play a game because it has a gadget!...just saying...
This Collector's Edition version has Morphing Objects and Hidden Key Silhouettes in most of the scene locations. I found myself staring at some of the scenes quite intently searching for some of those keys, so kudos my 4Friends! The Morphing Objects morph at a decent enough speed to make them fairly challenging to find, however, I wish devs would be a little more creative with my all-time favorite feature, and hopefully, they will read my suggestions here (as a general overall scenario) The location of the morphs always seems to be located in obvious places, I shouldn't be able to anticipate where it will be the second I enter a new scene (and of course, it's always there) They always morph too fast and the flashing grabs your attention before you even start to look for them in the usual spot. Lastly, but most importantly, don't have a mushroom morph into a white baseball or any other object that isn't related to the mushroom or the scene's surrounding theme! If all you have to do is glance at the scene to scan for an out-of-place fast-flashing object what's the purpose?
There are 14 Hidden Object Scenes in the Main Chapters and 6 within the CE Bonus Chapter. Most of the HOP's are just average Listed Item Finds with an occasional slight interaction to perform on one or two objects. I felt like the scene locations could have been a bit more colorful and more thought should have been applied to their creativity. Towards the last few chapters, the Hidden Object Scenes are repeated in the same location which didn't impress me, but in all fairness, I'm rarely impressed by HOP's nowadays. There are also Multiple's of the Same Object Finds, Pictured Item Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, and Related Pair Finds. One HOP I did find creative required using a magnet to locate items you couldn't see until the magnet picked it up, and that same scene was repeated shortly after to find several colorful flowers.
There are 17 Mini-Games in the Main Chapters and 5 within the CE Bonus Chapter, and 4Friends got it right. The mini-games start out easy and uncomplicated but become increasingly more complex as the game progresses. Not to the extreme extent of being mind-boggling frustrating, just more intricate. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games I found interesting:
1-Prevent the donkey from escaping by destroying bridges to trap him.
2-Adjust segments of arms & legs until they land on letters.
3-Select blue buttons to flip over the indicated stained-glass pieces.
4-Find related pairs by flipping over 2 cards which swap if incorrect.
5-Use directional arrows to gather seaweed in a specified number of moves, using portals.
6-Swap pie-shaped pieces in groups of 3 to complete the image.
7-Swap tokens to their matching image by changing path directions.
8-Move the sphere through a honeycomb grid & avoid cannonball shots.
The CE Bonus Chapter goes back in time slightly and is centered around the timeframe when Gulliver was imprisoned by the Lilliputians. The main characters are Gulliver and Rose, and it helps to fill in the blanks of the Main Chapter's storyline gaps. There are 6 Hidden Object Scenes and 5 Mini-Games within this average chapter consisting of 8 Scenes (about the length of any of the main chapters, not too long, not too short, in my opinion) You will pick up the remaining 8 Key Silhouettes which unlocks the Treasure Chest to award you with a handful of mini-game puzzles. You will also find the remaining 8 Morphing Objects that unlocks the final 2 Pond decorations as well.
This Collector's Edition version has 12 Wallpapers, 16 Concept Art Pictures (before/after) 4 Screensavers, 6 Music Soundtracks, 29 Re-playable Movie Video Cutscenes, 12 Re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 14 Re-playable Mini-Games, 21 Achievements to Earn (12 achievements have 3 categories) 27 Hidden Key Silhouettes, 33 Morphing Objects, 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-in Strategy Guide.

I must admit that the pictures offered in this latest installment of Mosaics Galore are back on track. The last installment had some of the most uninteresting and unappealing pictures that offered very little incentive to want to play it much less buy it!
For those of you who haven't played this type of Mosaic Puzzle game before, the goal is to complete the partial images by selecting fragments from the toolbar on the Right Side, (Left-Handed Mode Available) and placing them where they belong on the Mosaic Picture, without making mistakes and within the allotted time. If those criteria have been met, you will earn 3 Keys per picture, and you need to earn a specified number of Keys to unlock the next Location. There are 5 Locations and each Location has 20 Puzzles each. The Locations can also be unlocked with Coins you earn (25k-155k) but how is it possible to earn that many coins without playing the previous levels, to begin with?
You can add +30 seconds to the timer or refill the Hints on that level for a whopping 5000 points per use. In my opinion, they don't give you enough time to complete these puzzles, with the exception of the group of puzzles in the first Location. There is a Relaxed Mode available, but that defeats the purpose of the game and makes it nothing more than a Jigsaw Puzzle with very large pieces.
If you have played any of the Mosaic Puzzle Games by this developer, it probably won't surprise you that nothing has changed except the images themselves. The music is always the same, the features are always the same, the design is always the same, the background images, the instructions, the font style, and even the title is basically the same. They simply never bother to update or change anything to make their games more appealing to those who already own one game from them. It gets so repetitive having to listen to the same music and visuals when it's not only the same as other games in the same series but also the same across all other genres.
Because these devs offer so many games yet make no effort to add or change features, I cannot see giving them more than 3 stars, and that's only because these pictures were more interesting than the last game.

There's nothing better than an original Clutter Game by Joe, and I loved everything about Clutter 1000! There is always a story and a life lesson to learn as you de-clutter the scenes, but this time, Joe has left the story's interpretation to the player's imagination. There is no dialog, there is no text, there isn't even explanations or instructions given! There are a ton of new Clutter styles, and I loved Matching Identical Pairs of Smiley Faces, Cat Eyes, and beautiful Butterflies.
Since there are no instructions, I'll start with the Main Game Page. If you click on the C in the word Clutter, it will take you to the Clutter Quest. The letter R will take you to the Picture Based Puzzle Quests. All other Letters will take you to areas Different Themes. The number 1 in 1000 will allow you to set different Profiles. The Neutral Smiley Face is the first profile, the Female Smiley Face is the second profile and the Male Smiley Face is the third available profile. Each Smiley has an X that allows you to delete all current player statistics for that particular profile. The Grid Formation on the right show all of the Levels. If you love a particular level, you can mark it as a Favorite by clicking on the Round Gold Gem located on the top left of the screen to mark it with a Star (the star will appear within the gold gem and on the level grid)
There are several Colored Gems that show the status of each level, and they also appear within the Clutter Levels. (receive 1 Hint for every 5 Gems collected) Here are what each Gem Color indicates on the Level Grid:
~Black: indicates the main clutter quest levels
~Grey: allows you to jump to any level
~Yellow: indicates you saw the level but didn't play the level
~Orange: indicates you started but didn't complete the level
~Red: indicates you played the level but ran out of time
~Blue: indicates you ran out of time but finished the level
~Green: indicates you played and beat the level in time
You can stop the Treadmill (conveyor belt) by clicking the green checkmark on the treadmill, and the Infinity Symbol on the top left toggles whether Hints are counted or unlimited. You can choose from 3 different Cursor Colors (Red, Blue, Green) and in Small or Large sizes for each color as well. Hints are available (either limited or unlimited depending on the infinity selection) by clicking the Question Mark on the top. Extra Hints are obtained by single-clicking on the Round Gems within the regular Clutter Levels (1 hint for every 5 gems collected)
There are several Clutter Variations, such as Outside In where you can Drag Objects, Interwoven objects where making matches will cause the non-matching objects to fall off, Chaos levels will spontaneously move around, Fuzzy levels have a 50% transparency, Close Counts requires you to match items that aren't identical but similar, Up & Down where you make matches that are located up and down, Rotation levels require making matches of objects as they rotate in a circular motion, Big & Small requires matching identical objects one big one small, Split Two requires matching both halves of an object, Mirror-Mirror requires you to match mirrors with identical reflections, Negative Thinking, Black & White opposite matches, Silhouetted Shape Matches to go along with the normal Clutter Matches of 2-3-4-5-6, but even those have different variations such as removing 6 of every object in Small, Medium, and Large sizes!
After playing the Clutter Levels, Puzzle's become available to solve which will also give you an extra Hint. The puzzles vary as Horizontal Sliders, Vertical Sliders, Horizontal & Vertical Sliders, Square Tile Puzzles, and Round Puzzle Tiles. The Pictures are the story and definitely have meaning, as they follow a somewhat defined path, as you discover a deeper translation meaning individually. The Objective, The First Step, The Path, The Choice, The Struggle, Help From a Friend and the View From The Top.
Thank you, Joe, for another Clutterrific game!

This is a rather forgiving Higher/Lower Solitaire Game, but it has some new features and interesting concepts. Hopefully, it gets a little more challenging as you progress, but I had fun playing the demo and I play solitaire to relax so I added this one to my collection with no regrets.
You can choose from 4 different Card Graphics and as you progress you will find Specialized Cards which allows you to swap 50 different Card Font designs! Each level is multi-layered, a feature I've never seen before. You begin the level with 25 Deck Cards for the First Round. After you remove all cards from round one, you will be given 3 extra Deck Cards to continue on to Round 2. After completing Round 2, you are given 2 more Deck Cards to finish the third and Final Round. Each Level has different Goals you must complete during the rounds, Remove all Cards from the Board and a secondary quest which usually involves making a specified number of Combos. You can earn up to 3 Gold Skulls for the entire Level (all 3 rounds together) and you'll earn 100 coins per skull. Levels can be replayed as often as you want in its entirety.
Some of the Cards on the board are Specialty Cards that help clear the board such as a Dynamite Card which clears cards in the surrounding area, the Tesla Machine Card which clears 3 Random Cards, or the Rocket Card which clears cards in a specific direction (up, down, left, right) You can also receive Booster Cards that can be used whenever you want such as Jokers, Undo's Shuffles, and a Sword Card which removes a card of your choice.
Obstacle Cards are added as you progress such as Lock Cards requiring a Key Card, or Water Cards that need to be removed to douse the Fire Card. The Coins you earn are used to Decorate the Cemetery with various items, and each decoration gives you 3 different color or style options to choose from.

Looks like something fishy is going on in Masonville and it's up to the good detective to uncover the truth of just who murdered Mary. The list of suspects is long, including Mary's very own sister Giselle. One by one the suspects are narrowed down until the culprit has been nabbed, but sorting out the evidence in thsi disfunctional family may prove to be harder than you ever thought possible.
I'd like to clarify a few things in my review, first of all, I loved the muted pastel graphics, I don't recall GrandMa using this type of graphics before. The storyline is good, I loved the Morphs and I loved the Sin Cards which I found to be well blended, but I hated the Evidence Box Gadget. It felt like a chore to have to endure watching as the detective penned all the evidence down for every suspect then the evidence box would start jiggling and sparkling, taking me out of the storyline zone. To make matters worse, I had to pick up all the evidence I'd collected and place them into the box, not by using my deductive skills, but rather by simply placing them where the highlights appeared. This was just an annoyance for me personally, and I realize others may very well enjoy this added chore. I didn't mind the Photo Scene Matching because this is what Whispered Secrets is famous for and it's a quick task.
The Hidden Objects Scenes are varied with Interactive List Finds, Multiples of the Same Objects, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Replacing Items into the scene and Progressive Interactive Finds. There is an alternate Match 3 Game if you don't like HOP's. I loved the stained glass HOP where you had to rotate circular discs, but it would have been much better if the items weren't so large and easily spotted.
Some of the Mini-Games are complex but for the most part, I felt that they were way too simplistic and not really challenging, but this is just my personal preference. I also liked that some of the games were available in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games I enjoyed:
1-Use rotational arrows to slide tokens along lines to matching slots.
2-Arrange the gears on the board so their matching symbols touch.
3-Swap and rotate tiles so they complete the image when they move along the paths.
This Collector's Edition version has 9 Wallpapers, 12 Concept Art Pictures, 8 Music Soundtracks, Re-playable Movie Video Cutscenes, 15 Achievements to Earn, 20 Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces to assemble 1 Jigsaw Puzzle (w/in zoom zones) 52 Sin Cards (reveal 7 Goblets of Sins: 8-Gluttony, 7-Pride, 8-Wrath, 7-Envy, 7-Lust, 7-Greed, 8-Sloth) 20 Morphing Objects, 4 Chapters +Bonus Chapter +Epilogue Chapter III (find all Sin Cards to unlock) and a built-in Strategy Guide.

I would like to point out that back in the day, Mad Head Games was known for its cutting-edge sci-fi plots that were always amazing because of their originality. This plot is neither cutting-edge nor original, it felt as though I was watching an 'old B-rated movie rerun" To make matters worse, the had to add a stupid Flashlight Gadget! Come on MHG, you're way better than this!
The Hidden Object Scenes are far and few between, this is definitely a puzzle-heavy game. There are Interactive List Finds, Multiple Object Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Matching Pair Finds and Slider types where you align sketched images together using horizontal and vertical slider buttons. In the CE version, each Hidden Object Scene has a Morphing Object to find and you can pick up missing HOP morphs in the CE extras section.
The Mini-Games seemed rather basic and simplistic to me, most of them can be finished within 3-4 steps. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games offered, to show you how basic they really are:
1-Enter the code shown on lock tumblers.
2-Turn disc rings to create a continuous path for all 4 connections.
3-Stop the ball when it's inside the circle.
4-Select the symbols in the order they light up.
5-Remove 2 plants at a time to uncover matching mushrooms.
6-Make the correct number of connections shown on each tile w/o crossing connections.
7-Rotate puzzles and place together using directional arrows.
The Collector's Edition version has 4 Wallpapers, 3 Concept Art pictures, 10 Music Soundtracks, 18 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 1 Ultimate Hidden Object Puzzle, 1 Ultimate Puzzle (must complete Collections) 11 Achievements to earn, 18 Hidden Object Scene Morphing Objects, 28 Scene Location Morphing Objects, 28 Collectible Clapboards, 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter.

More like a 3.9 Star Game:
Some say the City of Mists is just a legend, after all, how can an entire island disappear and reappear every 20 years? Finding and proving The City of Mists exists has been Isabella's lifelong quest, who caught the adventure seeking bug from Granddad. When Rebecca receives an urgent letter from mum telling her to drop everything and bring granddad's Charm with her, she suddenly realizes that her mother may have just located the city no one has ever laid eyes on before!
I didn't mind the Collin character, I enjoyed his snarky arrogant personality, however, the "collin bar" feature where you can make him tell you a joke etc was kind of lame in my opinion and more annoying than anything. The second gadget feature was also included in the first Wanderlust game, the Tool Box, that allows you to permanently keep a Knife a pair of Needle-nose Pliers, and Granddad's Charm, another gadget that controls the Iron Giants. I'm totally fine with keeping valuable tools to use throughout the game, but I was not crazy about the shaking toolbox icon. In my opinion, there should be an option to turn off the Toolbox Shake Hint.
The Hidden Object Scenes rarely interest me nowadays because they just aren't challenging, but I gotta say that MHG upped their game on these HOP's, right from the get-go! I found the objects to be well blended (for the most part) and the scenes to be located in interesting places. They are varied with Listed Item Finds, Related Image Finds, Find and Replace Items, Multiple's of the Same Object Finds, Pictured Item Finds, and Keywords In Sentence Finds. In this CE version, each scene has a Morphing Object.
Mini-Games don't require a lot of brain-power but I actually enjoyed most of them. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games I thought were fun:
1-Spot the difference one key at a time.
2-Rotate triangles until they align with various map points.
3-Move square tiles into colored slots to create 2 images.
4-Place all shapes into the board.
5-Select the blue runes in the correct sequence shown x3.
This Collector's Edition version has 4 Wallpapers, 2 Concept Art Pictures (with before/after slider) 7 Character Gallery Pictures, 10 Music Soundtracks, 10 Achievements to Earn (5 Achievements are available with 3 Categories) 18 Re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 1 Ultimate Puzzle (place stones w/o repeating in columns or rows) 45 Morphing Objects (18 w/in HOP's 27 w/in scenes) 27 Hidden Icons, 3 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter.

Phantasmat ISN'T supposed to be about a cheesy tree/vine red-eyed creature, Phantasmat is supposed to be about a phenomenon that never lets you leave a certain place, you try and try, but somehow end up right where you started until you begin to think that maybe you are dead! You don't know how you really got there in the first place, and why everyone you meet is behaving erratically. Phantasmat is supposed to be about a person who keeps having phantasmal visions that fill the player in with the necessary background story and eventually helps you come to terms with your new reality. Phantasmat isn't about reading a thousand loose pages of someone's diary conveniently laying around to explain the story! Phantasmat ISN'T supposed to be about an UNORIGINAL creature that doesn't want you to leave, phantasmat is an altered state of being, an alternate state of reality, NOT about things that go bump in the night!!!!
This cheesy, vine creature is utterly ridiculous, laughable, and so been there done that a zillion times. The graphics are horrible, dull, lifeless, unappealing. I can't even say it's a step backward because they had better graphics originally. The CE "Hidden Signs" are large and easy to spot. The worse thing about this game is that there are only 3 areas of activity per detailess scene, a zoom zone on the left, one on the right and one smack dab in the center. There's no detail to even look at, everything is drab, colorless and boring, no need to pause and take in the beauty of the scenery because there's nothing to look at! The original Phantasmat won a slew of awards (wbtw was by a different dev) and I urge this dev to take a break and play the original game and then go back to the drawing board and create a Phantasmal Phantasmat worthy of its namesake. I have given this game 3 stars for the sole purpose of keeping the series alive so that they can create a game with a storyline as amazing as I know it can be, (you have the resources and the talent, I know it's in there guy, find your Phantasmat!)
The Hidden Object Scenes were utterly horrific. The scenes are colorless shades of copper or blue and hazy. It's hard to tell where one object ends and the next begins because there's no definition, it's clearly in an attempt to make them more challenging, but that is NOT how a Hidden Object Scene should be! Items should be cleverly blended into the scenery
and, not unrecognizable because of poor graphics! The HOP's are usually layered with a few different types including Listed Item Finds, Multiple Object Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Pictured or Sketched Item Finds, Combination Sketches where this plus that equals blank Finds and Morphing Object Finds. In the Collector's Edition version, 19 of the HOP's have a Morphing Object and there is an alternate Bubble Shoot Game available. (one of the CE achievements requires you to play the alternate Bubble Shoot game at least once)
The Mini-Games range from super-simplistic to practically mind-boggling, many of which simply have horrible directions. I don't mind mind-boggling as long as they aren't frustrating, in fact, I prefer games that require strategy or at least make you think about what you are doing rather than just solving them by memory because you have encountered that puzzle a million times before. There were very few puzzles offered here that were actually fun to solve, unfortunately. They aren't original, they aren't even that creative. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games worth mentioning:
1-Guide footprints through the grid by activating switches and rotating directional arrows.
2-Move each eyeball to their matching slots using bumpers and portals.
3-Guide the ball through the maze using directional arrows and rotating sections of the maze.
4-Position arrow tiles to point to the center by selecting buttons to rotate Locked or Unlocked tiles.
The CE Bonus Chapter delves into the background story of what happened with the Miners who first discovered the "creature" The BC is rather short in my opinion and includes 5 Mini-Games and 4 Hidden Object Scenes. You will pick up the remaining 8 Antique Clocks or Hidden Signs, and 4 HOP Morphing Objects. Any missed Morphs can be obtained by re-playing the HOP's in the extra's section which also allows you to achieve Gold, Silver or Bronze status and improve accuracy. After completing the BC you can access the Souvenir Room to search for 24 Souvenirs, 1 per scene.
The Collector's Edition version has 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art Pictures, 8 Music Soundtracks, 12 Movie Video Cutscenes, 20 Re-playable Mini-Games, 21 Re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, Re-playable Bubble Shooter Game (the alternate HOP game) 13 Achievements to Earn, 45 Hidden Antique Clocks, 19 Morphing HOP Objects, 24 Souvenirs within the Souvenir Room, 4 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter (miners/creature origins) and a Built-in Strategy Guide.
