I love it when BF offers HOPA's from developers that aren't frequent flyers. This is the same dev that brought us Showing Tonight, which is a very unique game. Dead Link has a really good whodunit plot, the graphics are decent, but the characters voices sound a bit fake and over-the-top. I'm not going to critique this game to death because although there's nothing new or unique presented here, it is what it is, a really good adventure at a really good price point, that some will love and some will hate.
One feature I loved was how they incorporated the use of a Journal. I keep asking why this Journal feature isn't used more often like they used to be when these games weren't as easy. I'd much rather have to flip through pages of a journal to find clues to solve the mini-games and puzzles than to have a sheet of paper that magically appears to show me exactly how to input the information, isn't that more realistic? It would be even more awesome if the clues in my journal weren't used until later in the game, making me put on my thinking cap, where did I see that clue, which clue do I use here kinda thing.
The Hidden Object Scenes are fairly standard, the graphics could be a bit better, but some objects were tricky to find and they usually include a small puzzle to solve. There are only a couple of HOP's in the demo, one where you find a flashlight and then 12 hidden batteries, the other was a slightly Interactive List find.
The Mini-Games are decent but tend to be on the easy side of the spectrum. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1-Use the flashlight to search for items to identify the body. 2-Press on the paintings in the correct sequence by trial & error. 3-Set the proper time on the clock according to the clue in the journal. 4-Click to enter the correct numbers on each locking tumbler. 5-Move wooden "blocks" to clear a path for the metal tile to exit. 6-Click on several tiles to change the image to the correct Rooster. 7-Spot the difference between the Owl photo and the sketch. 8-Slide the tokens to the correct natural backgrounds.
There are no bells or whistles in this game, it won't blow your socks off but it is a good game that's totally worthy of purchasing. I for one, wholeheartedly support this dev who has brought 2 decent HOPA games to the pond!

By the time I got around to the third and final soul to redeem, I realized I was bored out of my mind. The storyline was pretty interesting in the beginning, and technically still was a good story, but I was doing the same tasks over and over. It seemed like all I was doing was opening cabinets, drawers and countless bags with missing emblems, not to mention searching for berries of every color known to mankind.
The mini-games and puzzles are decent, but some of them had instructions that were downright confusing, the ones that weren't confusing were either too simplistic, or simply rehashed puzzles, several times over, from all of the other series games by this dev. Some of them I did enjoy, and I really liked some of the Hidden Object Scenes, particularly the ones where you rotated rings to match up images of each item.
I would recommend this Standard Edition version over the Collector's Edition version because the Collector's Edition version really doesn't have much to offer. Other than the usual Wallpapers (blurry and uninteresting) Concept Art, re-playable HO's and MG's etc. there are only 11 scenes out of 5 Chapters worth of scenes that have a Collectible! Here's a recap of my review (with the SE series list) to help you decide which version, if either is right for you:
Santa Muerte had a dream that only you could save the world of the Living from becoming the world of the Dead. If 12 innocent souls are gathered before the stroke of Midnight on The Day of the Dead, Shibalba will rise from the Underworld, and the world of the Living will kneel before him. You have given Redemption to countless souls over the years, but this time, everyone's soul's are at stake when the Dead Arise and the Living Fall!
As with all Redemption Cemetery games, the goal is to open portals and right the wrongs made in the past to redeem their souls and create a more favorable future outcome. You will need to redeem the souls of Aurellia, Bernardo, and Marie, but you aren't flying solo on this Myth-Debunking paranormal, soul-redeeming investigation, because once again you get a nameless Crow to soar to great heights to retrieve those items that have mysteriously ended up in places you can't reach.
Once again, they have included Conversation Choices, but they are a meaningless waste of time. I played the demo first, and then purchased the game at which point I created a new profile to start from the beginning. I discovered that once again, the conversation choices don't impact the outcome because I chose the opposite responses on purpose the second go-round, and the questions are so vague that the answer is always the same. I had the choice to ask something to the effect of Who are you vs how did you find me or something similar, the answer was the same both times "it doesn't matter, time is of the essence" response. The Rock, Paper, Scissors game with a pair of skeleton hands is the same scenario, the first time I chose rock which was wrong, then paper which was also wrong. The second profile I chose the Scissors because that was the correct answer the first time, again it was wrong, so it doesn't matter what you choose, it will always be the third try wins. My point is, why bother to include multiple choices if it doesn't affect the outcome, therefore, doesn't matter? If you want a smash-hit game dev, why not create a game that actually has features that will change the outcome of the game like in Bad Dreams Coma?
The Hidden Object Scenes could be more interesting and definitely more challenging. For example, on one of the HOS, silhouetted shapes are shown on both sides of a purse that requires you to place items from the purse into the silhouetted shapes, but the cursor not only changes to a hand, but it selects the items in a specific order so all you have to do is click anywhere because you're going to pick up what the game was programmed to pick up, not the item you want to choose. There are Keywords in Sentence finds to progress the story, Finding & Replacing HO's where they belong on book pages, Multiples of the same Object finds, Multiple Symbol Shapes finds, and several smaller Zoom-Zone Hidden Object Scenes (more zoom-zones than regular HOS) to find 8 broken buttons, 8 silhouetted shapes or a handful of Listed items, and so many berries you'll wonder why you didn't just wait until they grew back, or is that a feature in TM games? None of the HOS have many items to find, in fact, the first HOS only required you to find 1, sometimes 2 items per sentence in the Keyword finds, but then again, this is a game who's targeted audience is puzzle-lovers, and not so much hidden object fans.
The Mini-Games are in abundance, everytime you blink, there's a new puzzle so if you don't like puzzle-heavy games you'll probably hate this one. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1-Play a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors with skeleton hands. 2-Arrange the gems according to color & then numerically. 3-Swap pie sections of the button to complete the design. 4-Select the needle when it's in the green zone x4. 5-Select and drag the skull through the shape w/o touching sides. 6-Light all candles, one affects others. (Casual/Hard) 7-Drag rows horizontally and vertically to recreate the image. 8-Use a lens to find symbols in order from simple to complex. 9-Move tokens in an L formation to their matching colored slots. 10-Swap puzzle pieces from the same ring section to complete. 11-Slide puzzle pieces to form a hole around the parrot shape. 12-Rotate 4 sections until they all fit together in the center. 13-Click to change column section images to match themes. 14-Select & drag all rows to create a path for the water to flow. 15-Select matching pairs of symbols under clouds that move.
The Collector's Edition version has 12 Wallpapers, 9 Concept Art pictures, 7 Screensavers, 4 Music Soundtracks, 19 Movie Cutscenes, 13 Achievements to earn, 13 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 18 re-playable Mini-Games, 11 Collectible Tokens that give ancient Underworld descriptions from Aztec, Egypt, Greece, Japan, Tibet, Inca, Babylonia, India, Scandinavia, Europe and Maya) 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide.

I mistakenly gave the first game in this 3 game series 3 stars. I should have known better, nothing ever changes by this dev other than the title, and this game proves my statement! Look at the pictures shown in the synopsis for the previous game, the picture of the dark alley with a door and steps. It's the exact same picture location that this game has, exactly the same!
Story? What story? If there was the slightest chance you could have imagined a story by looking at the scenes in the first Detective Solitaire, then how can this be a continuation story if it has the exact same location pictures? If everything is exactly the same as the first game, and I'm positive it will be the same as the third game in this series, that tells me that once again, the only thing they changed was the title! They are taking advantage of the consumer, you and I!
You can choose from 9 Crime-themed card backs, and 3 face card font styles. The game begins with a tutorial in Newbie Mode which allows you to replay any level or Professional Mode which only allows you to play the entire 10 level pack.
This is a Higher/Lower style Solitaire game where the only goal is to remove all of the Gold Cards. Once the gold cards have been collected, you will earn the maximum amount of points and the game ends even if other regular cards remain. If you remove all gold cards you'll get a perfect score and the points of that level are added to the next level similar to bowling scores. You must earn the required amount of points to unlock the next location, there are 12 Locations and each location has 10 levels.
When you remove cards with a round blue gem, you will receive either +499 points, a Joker, a Shuffle or Mulligan (undo) and you can buy Jokers, Shuffles, and Mulligans within the Shop with the points you have earned.
Once again, this game states that there are Achievements to earn, but I've yet to earn one, but then again, I didn't play further than the demo because I have no desire to waste money on a game that has nothing new to offer. I refuse to even use a PCC. When and if they decide to change something other than the title, I may consider it, but only if they make an option that allows me to remove all of the cards, not just the Gold Cards.

I love the clutter style games from Shaman Games and I own all of them but I wasn't all that impressed with this one. The last game offered was super easy and wasn't really challenging, but that's okay because I just played it for relaxation, I figured I could replay the previous ones if I wanted more challenge.
The first thing I noticed was that this was the third release in their Hiddenverse series but it's the second part of their regular clutter style series, which is somewhat confusing. This is the part that I don't mention what I mentioned before.
You have two game difficulty modes to choose from, relaxed and a regular mode. The object of this game is to remove items from a heaping pile of junk, but the styles change with each level. Sometimes you have to remove Matching Pairs, Triple Pairs, Big & Small Matches (1 big object and it's mate in a small version) Half Matches (2 fragments that go together) Black & White (1 object in color its mate colorless)
The Challenge levels have returned, after every fourth level, you can play a multi-game level. You can play these challenges in any order, which includes a Mini-Game such as Pipes (rotate pipes to make a continuous path) A Pair Match game where you flip over 2 cards at a time to try to find matches, and a Clutter game which has one or two piles of clutter, and you drag the items one by one, from each heaping pile until you find and remove all matching objects.
They have added a Match 3 feature where you can switch between the Witch's Tales of Clutter or the Frog Prince's Match 3 games. Removing Crystals with a single click will make the Hint option recharge faster.

Ding, Dong, the wedding bells have already rung for Princess Aerin and Tillian! King Galanius has finally passed the crown, but the wedding bliss begins to fade when word arrives at the Royal Palace that monstrous creatures are causing havoc in the forest. Queen Aerin and her new husband Tillian head to the forest and soon discover that an evil-doer has poisoned the water. The poison is turning ordinary creatures into angry monstrous creatures, looks like the honeymoon's over, but after all, this Royal couple does love a good adventure.
If a new HOPA adventure is off the table for a Saturday morning Holiday weekend, I couldn't be happier that a new Elven Legend Time Management game has taken its place. This is one of my favorite TM game series, the graphics are always great, the storyline is always interesting, and it's always fun to play.
Elven Legend games are a strategy based Time Management game, you must queue your tasks in a specific order, but the goals are always obtainable, although some levels may take a couple of replays to earn all 3 stars. You can play in a Relaxed mode with no timer, Normal, or Hard Mode, and you can replay the levels as often as necessary. Bonus Icons become available that help you beat the levels, it's nearly impossible to beat the level and earn all 3 Stars without them. Each level has a different type of bonus such as Speed Boots to make the workers move faster, a bonus to Increase Resources, Double the Production of Resources, Speed up Work Production or even Increase the number of Existing Resources.
There are the normal TM tasks of collecting food, water, wood, stone crystals etc. and the same tasks of clearing the roads, repairing bridges and filling in pits along the way. Queen Aerin does all the magic work, once she has enough magical crystals to charge her staff and hubby Tillian does all the negotiations. The goal is to gather the necessary ingredients to mass produce the cure and change the poisoned animals they encounter back to their former glory, but naturally, they must first help citizens with their dilemmas before the citizens can help them.
There are several Altars of Resources available in each level that will produce renewable resources over a period of time. There are Berry Bushes that produce food and a Magical Tree that produces wood, but they will first require Water before they will regrow or produce. You will need to construct different buildings and upgrade them to produce various resources such as Farms to produce food, Workers House's to hire extra workers, Sawmills for wood, a Griffin Hut to house Griffin, who chases away poachers, Hives etc. Some levels require items to be Crafted such as the Potion to cure the animals, the items you gather will automatically move to the icon, and once all items have been collected you need to click on the icon to complete the task. (it will sparkle when all necessary ingredients have been gathered)
In this Collector's Edition version, each scene has a Morphing Ancient Animal (60) a Crystal Flower (60) and a collectible Magic Crystal (60) for the Vitrage. There are 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 38 Achievements to earn, 10 extra CE levels and a built-in Strategy Guide, enjoy!

Although I still like the original Ring of Destiny the best, This is a really good Edge of Reality addition to the series. I do have a few complaints, I wish the opaque collectible Eggs in the CE version were a little more challenging to find, and I and grew weary of the repetitive "Cube" Match 3 games, especially on the last chapter, and I didn't care for the HOP's being repeated a second time in the same location. Other than that, it has a good story, colorful graphics and imaginative creatures that make it a great fantasy adventure.
There are 20 Eggs left to collect in the CE Bonus Chapter, which is a sequel trying to capture a stray creature. I picture myself running behind creatures with a glass cube saying "get in the cube" as I play a Match 3 game with my free hand lol. Here's a recap of my review to help you decide which version, if either, is right for you:
Abe was the last man standing in the Hanson family lineage. His brothers Eliot and Rick both passed away under mysterious circumstances, and now Abe has joined his brothers, resting in peace for eternity. Julia inherited the Hanson Family Lighthouse from Uncle Abe, a decision she thought was rather curious, but nonetheless, she knew her Uncle was quite fond of the lighthouse. Sometimes the gift itself isn't what's important, and Julia soon learns that her inheritance was actually a lifelong journey, a lifetime commitment, a responsibility that had nothing to do with the lighthouse itself!
Good news and bad news! This game has a Gadget AND a Helper! That's the bad news, the good news is that Ash the Corgi is adorable and not annoying. (he also isn't used that much) The Magic Cube Gadget isn't as horrible as I had anticipated it to be. The Magic Cube actually has two different features associated with it. The main feature of the cube is to capture magical Creatures that have unique powers allowing them to control elements such as Lightning, Fire, and Ice. To capture the creatures, you'll have to challenge them to a Match 3 game and of course, beat them. (this was one of my criteria factors for deducting a star, not the helper, not the cube, not even the repetitive Match 3 game, but because challenging a griffin or ice wolf to a match 3 game was kind of lame) Supposedly, the Cube is a Sanctuary for these animals, if that's true, why would I need to beat them at a Match 3 game to coax them back into the Cube? They are intelligent enough to play a Match 3 challenge, but not smart enough to return to a safe sanctuary? Once captured, you will acquire their magical ability, such as flying, but you only get one shot to use that ability.
The Hidden Object Scenes are basically all the same, Interactive List Finds, but in all fairness, they did throw in a Keywords in Sentence finds here and there which helps to progress the storyline. The lack of creativity within the HO Scenes was the other deciding factor for deducting a star from my rating. There's no alternative puzzle offered, which surprises me given the fact tact that there's a repetitive Match 3 game during the game whenever the Cube is used to capture a creature (who knew these creatures were capable of a Match 3 challenge!) Most of the scenes are repeated, a feature I really don't like because it's just plain ole boring a second time around.
The Mini-Games I will admit are rather simplistic and easily solved. That isn't necessarily a bad thing if puzzles are enjoyable and relaxing that's just as beneficial as a complicated, mind-boggling puzzle, you don't always need to be challenged, and this is a fantasy-themed game, so relaxing is okay too. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1-Drag the dog token along the tracks to every circle point. 2-Swap papers until they form the family motto. 3-Swap figurine accessories to match the motif clues shown. 4-Swap and rotate tokens to restore the image. 5-Make the number of connections between stars with limited moves. 6-Flip records to find all matching pairs. 7-Drag a line through at least 3 specific matching gems shown. 8-Navigate through the maze using items you find to overcome obstacles. 9-Flip clouds to find matching pairs of tracks. 10-Flip clouds to find matching pairs, clouds shuffle after each turn.
The Collector's Edition version has 6 Wallpapers, 15 Concept Art pictures, 5 Screensavers, 5 Music Soundtracks, 19 re-playable Mini-Games, 11 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 27 re-playable Movie Cutscenes, 15 Achievements to earn, 64 Collectible Opaque Eggs (allows you to hatch 5 eggs with collection totals of 22, 30, 38, 44 and 64) 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide, enjoy!
EDGE OF REALITY SERIES LIST Title***Standard Edition Release Date***Average Rating
This "Top Reviewer" is one of our most frequent game reviewers. We think you'll trust what they have to say and find their reviews helpful and informative.
The only reason I have downgraded my Star rating for this Standard Edition version is that I prefer the CE version which has Morphing Objects and several categories of Collectibles. If you don't care about a quality storyline, then you probably won't get what all the fuss is about, but if you are searching for HOPA games with really good stories to back up your adventures, then Five-Bn Games have just what you're looking for. Not just with this game, but with every game in this series, in fact, all of their game series!
I prefer the CE version because of the CE bling, but if you don't care about morphs and collectibles, this SE is perfectly fine. Here's a recap of my review to help you decide which version, if either, is right for you:
Holy Arachnoids, those spiders are ginormous! Mistakes have been made in the past alright, a deadly Black Widow Spider must have hooked up with Godzilla! Susan has been summoned once again to the Lost Lands, but something's definitely different this time. (did I mention there are ginormous spiders?) This isn't the Lost Lands of the past, and Maaron is nowhere to be seen. If Maaron didn't summon Susan, who did, and why?
Lost Lands is one of my favorite game series, (& my favorite dev) I fell in love with it the moment little Jimmy got swallowed by a tree! Susan is a relatable character, and this dev does an amazing job connecting you emotionally to the storyline. The CG graphic video cutscenes are extremely realistic, but what I like the most about Lost Lands, is that it's not a cookie-cutter game, they never are. You probably won't come across all the standard cliche tasks like wrapping a rag around a shard of glass and finding a smoker to drive away bees, and that's so refreshing and so appreciated! Another cool feature they offer in the CE version is that for each group of collections, morphs and manuscripts completed, you will earn an Achievement AND you'll receive a new Puzzle or Mini-Game in the Bonus Levels section! (Collector's Edition version only)
The Hidden Object Scenes are Interactive-Progressive Silhouetted-Shape Puzzles. If you are not familiar with this type of Hidden Object Scene, you're in for a treat, because nobody does this style of HOP as well as this developer, and all of their games have it! You must find an object within the scene, that matches one of the Silhouetted Shapes shown in the Inventory Bar. Then you click on various Zoom Zones to find where the item can be used Interactively, which will expose the next Silhouetted Shape item that will be used in the next Zoom Zone until you Progress through all of the items. There is usually a small puzzle to solve as well. I love this type of HOP, they aren't just brainless click-fests, and they are really fun to solve!
The Mini-Games are awesome! Many of the puzzles make you refer to your good old-fashioned Journal, remember those days! I've always thought mini-games were lame when a slip of paper would appear with the solution code written on it. Why do they even bother including a game that has already basically been solved? It says or shows you everything you have to do, right in front of your face! I love the journal aspect, and it would be even more awesome if the entry wasn't needed to solve an immediate puzzle, but several pages later, so you'd have to scan through the journal entries to find what you need. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo, and they get even better afterward:
1-Place various sized boards w/o overlapping to create stairs. 2-Unscramble the stone letter blocks to create the correct name. 3-Enter the correct code you've seen before, or refer to the journal. 4-Open all clamps in the correct order by trial & error. 5-Place figurines so that they are all holding hands around the circle. 6-Enter the correct date and time you heard earlier or refer to your journal. 7-Create a path to get new boards & then to connect 3 dots. 8-Scan the area with a magnet to find the hidden item.
The Collector's Edition version has 10 Wallpapers, 12 Concept Art Pictures, 16 Movie Video Cutscenes, 8 Music Soundtracks, 22 re-playable Mini-Games, 7 re-playable Puzzles, (more are added when you complete the collections, morphs & manuscripts) 22 Achievements to earn, 7 Collectible Posters, 7 Collectible Bloody Palms, 8 Collectible Funeral Urns, 8 Collectible Arachnoid Gold Spiders, 12 Collectible Roses, 9 Collectible Lost Lands Manuscripts, 30 Morphing Objects (Custom mode allows you to turn on/off the option of the cursor changing over collectibles & on/off option of showing collectibles on the Map) 3 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter (very long chapters) enjoy fixing Maaron's Mistakes of the Past!

First of all, I have no idea why the pictures are showing cheesy Match 3 scenarios above, there may be Match 3 games available at some point, but this is definitely a Solitaire game and an excellent one at that! You can set the resolution so the game fills the whole screen (instead of the black bars on each side) and there are 3 Cursors and 3 Card Fonts and Designs to choose from as well as 18 Achievements to earn, most of which are available in 3 different Categories.
One of my favorite Solitaire games from this dev, is the original Magic Cards Solitaire, a game I have played thousands of times over the years. Wildcards or Jokers first appear on Level 8, and you can also purchase Jokers and Number Specific Wildcards in the shop with the golddollars you earn. I will admit that there aren't any cards to buy that remove a pesky card or two or reveal face-down cards etc. but I haven't progressed farther than the demo either.
One of the biggest reasons I love Magic Cards Solitaire and Wizard's Quest Solitaire is the fact that the piles of cards on the board are numerous. It's easy to remove all of the cards on the board when each pile only has 5-10 cards, but these piles seem infinite at times. Not only is it more challenging, but it gives you the opportunity to strategically make long combos, and by long, I mean that if done correctly, you can make combos of 20, 30 even 40 (yes it's possible on some levels, especially as you progress further)
I'm the kind of person who plays a solitaire level over and over until I remove every single card, even if I've earned all 3 Stars, I'll still replay the level until every single card has been removed. I did have issues with the first few levels and occasionally thereafter when I clicked on the deck pile, more than 1 card would flip over. It wasn't even noticeable unless one of the cards was playable, because the playable card on the board would wiggle to indicate I missed a play. Sure enough, I'd click the Undo button and the card below was playable. This wouldn't be a problem if the Undo was free and limitless, but the Undo has to charge by removing cards, and it's not available when you first start the level.
Here are a few of the features I love about this game:
*The piles of cards to remove from the board are numerous. *Those piles sometimes give the appearance of a single card. *There are no "Special" cards to remove. *You can remove all cards because there are no special cards. *You can replay the levels as often as you want. *Clicking anywhere speeds up the process to the next level. *Large Combos are possible if you use strategy and/or Wildcards. *Mini-Games and HO's break up the monotony of Solitaire levels. *The card Fonts are easily identifiable and easy to see. *The graphics are colorful. *The Music is familiar but relaxing. *It's a relaxing game, it's a fun game to play, enjoy!

A good artist can draw a painting that is almost lifelike, but a great artist can make a painting come to life. Leonard Tussole was such an amazing artist, it was an honor to pose for a portrait from him. His portraits were incredibly realistic, and the women he portrayed were absolutely beautiful. These beautiful women soon discovered the price to have Leonard paint their Oval Portrait was costly, but there's always a price to be paid for immortality, there's always a Price to be paid for Beauty.
Although I found this game to be dull and uninteresting, I have to give Amax credit for a job well done on the Morphing Objects. They are somewhat small (remember the huge paw prints) and they morph at a slower pace to make them somewhat challenging. I can't say the same for the Statues because they stick out like a sore thumb and are located in obvious places. I'm sure die-hard fans will love this rendition of Edgar Allan Poe's The Oval Portrait, but there's nothing here folks if you've played any of the Dark Tales games, you'll find this game to be just more of the same. The scenes all look alike, the people all look the same, the graphics are the same, the music is the same, the mini-games and HOS are all the same. In my opinion, Amax should have ended this series after The Masque of Red Death because it's gone downhill ever since...way down!
The Hidden Object Scenes are better than the mini-games, not great, but better than. They are varied with Interactive List finds, Multiples of the same Object finds, Silhouetted Shape finds, Finding and Replacing Objects, and several Zoom Zone HOP's where you are tasked with finding Matching Pairs of flowers or several pictured items. There are no alternative puzzles available but some of the HO scenes have a small puzzle to solve.
The Mini-Games are mostly just fragments that require placing them onto highlighted slots, and they aren't really interesting or challenging. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1-Place 12 fragments around the ring into highlighted slots. 2-Rotate the rings to create the image. 3-Place torn photo fragments into highlighted slots correctly. 4-Swap pieces to create the correct image. 5-Swap pieces to create the correct pattern. 6-Create a path from point A to B using the pattern shown. 7-Swap books to create the images shown above them. 8-Swap hexagonal tiles to recreate the portrait. 9-Swap tile images to place them into associated categories.

I love Higher/Lower Solitaire games, but this one has a few features that make it just an average solitaire game that will easily be overlooked. You can choose from 4 different card themes, and 2 font styles and this is the first feature that needs to be tweaked. The card design and colors are all the same with no curb appeal, the only difference is with the cameo sketch in the middle of the card of a knights head armor, a sword a shield etc. The only difference between the fonts is either a single Ace, Spade, Heart or Diamond or card number specific suits such as showing 9 shamrocks on the # 9 of clubs.
There are 12 Levels and 10 games in each level. You have to earn a specific number of stars to open up the next level. This is also another area that needs to be tweaked. There is a star meter that fills as you remove cards from the board, but the goal for each level is to remove a specific number of Special Cards as indicated by Ivy along the top and right corner of the card. You can pass the level with 1 or 2 stars as long as you remove the specified number of special cards, but you can't proceed if you earn 3 stars but haven't removed the required number of special cards!?
My third and final complaint is that you have to score a crazy amount of points in order to buy items in the shop that can help you. You can purchase a Deck Card remaining counter, Undo's, Shuffles, Discard 1 card of choice, Face-down Reveal percentages, and Wildcards, but you also have to purchase the opportunity to use them, and they cost anywhere from 15-30,000 ridiculous points.
This game is worthy of a PCC, but in the end, this game is no different than hundreds of other Higher/Lower games, not to mention that most other games are more colorful and appealing. I really don't care for solitaire games that only require you to remove specific cards and don't give you the option to continue playing.
