You never know what treasures the powerful tides will wash to the shore, but certainly, a dead body is the last thing you'd expect. This is a private Island owned by the very rich and famous Bradford brothers, Henry and Edward, and the victim is Mark Spector, the Island's Security Guard. At first glance, his death appears to be the result of an accident, but further investigation points to something much more sinister, murder! The question is, whodunit?
We're still in the time-frame era of Gadgets! It seems like gadgets come and go with the tide, every game released has a gadget or two for months and months, and then they just disappear again and then none of the games offers them. I will say that the Instant Camera gadget makes sense in this game, you're a Detective investigating a homicide after all. Technically, the forensic team from the Coroner's office would be taking the pictures, and far more pictures would be taken than the handful we take in this game. All the evidence and pictures you collect are stored in an Evidence Folder which offers a mini-game once enough evidence has been collected, to draw conclusions and point to the next lead to follow.
This Collector's Edition version has Morphing Sin Bears available in each scene, the problem is, most of them are located towards the front of the scene which makes them appear huge. They also morph fairly quickly which catches your eye so to speak. This is an epic fail, it's just a click feature that has no challenge, therefore no meaning.
The Hidden Object Scenes are fairly basic and mostly just simple Listed Item finds throughout this rare 7 Chapter offering, although the demo had a very nicely done Interactive, Progressive, Silhouetted Shape puzzle that I really enjoyed. I'm not sure why they didn't continue with that particular style because it was fairly creative. I'm not a huge fan of HO's in these adventure games lately because items are rarely blended into the scene like they used to be, they are just laid out on a desk, the front seat or trunk of a car, across shelves, or sometimes just a corner of the room. They are so predictable you know immediately where the HOS will occur the second you walk into a new room or outdoor scene. I've gotten to the point that I try to find the items without looking at the list to make it more challenging (and I have a pretty good success rate believe it or not) so in all fairness, I'm rarely impressed with Hidden Object Scenes, therefore it's unfair of me to ding this game simply because there is no variety, and honestly, the Listed Item finds are fine, interactions are usually pretty lame. (clicking on a lid to open a jar, or moving an item out of the way isn't much of an added challenge anyway is it?)
If the Mini-Games had been more abundant and a little more challenging, I would have given this fantastic whodunit murder mystery a 5-Star rating. Even the investigation puzzles were rather simplistic and don't allow for mistakes, in other words, if you drag the wrong choice of evidence to the wrong character, it just says that isn't right. I'd much rather make my selections and have a pop-up that says it's wrong, and have to repeat the selections until it's right, isn't that what deductions are all about? I always "test" game options and features like conversation choices, to see if they actually matter, and also to see if my choices affect the outcome of the story, which they rarely do, and unfortunately neither does Path of Sin. If devs would go the extra mile to offer a game that had different outcomes based upon choices made, I'd be willing to pay more...just saying! Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1-Rotate and drag photo fragments to restore the image x2. 2-Follow the sign scheme shown to get from point A to point B. 3-Drag evidence sentence findings to the correct characters. Rotate 2 triangle sections at a time to restore the image.
This Collector's Edition version has 6 Wallpapers, 12 Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 9 Movie Cutscenes, 18 re-playable Mini-Games, 16 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 16 Achievements to earn, 28 Collectible Morphing Sin Bears, 7 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter (The One That Got Away *sequel*) and a built-in Strategy Guide, enjoy this chapter-heavy who-dun-it!

Today's your lucky day Puppet Master Miriam! All you need is Faith, a willing Puppet, a dash of Blue Crystal, and the flip of a switch to become immortal. It didn't work too well for Dr. Frankenstein, but then again, he didn't have that magical blue crystal either! Looks like you got her just in time Detective/Journalist/Adventurer (insert name______) because your PuppetMonster just got dragged to the PuppetUnderworld and who knows what's going to happen to your PuppetSoul there! One thing is for sure, that barking dog in the distance has followed you to yet another PuppetShow!
Faith in the future I must say isn't as horrible as the last few games have been, but I really do believe the "PuppetShow" has run its course. There's just nothing more this series can cover, so they are just creating spinoffs of the other plots. Once again, you get to choose the character you want to portrait within 3 categories, Detective, Journalist & Adventurer, and each category has a male and female character available. There are several Conversation choices you can choose from when communicating with each character, however, they are basically the same question so you're going to get the same answer no matter which you choose, so why do they bother to include a feature that doesn't affect the outcome?
The best feature this particular game had going for, unfortunately, is only available in the CE version, Slow Morphing Mask outlines, but, if the slow morphing object was a different object instead of the same mask outline, it would have made the morphing object so much harder to spot, but kudos to Amax on a job well done with this CE feature. The CE also has collectible Piggy Banks, but they are only located in some of the scenes. (allows you to purchase items created by Miriam) This "virtual" scenario has never particularly thrilled me because its moot, there's no rhyme or reason to it. I did like the feature in the pit and the pendulum which had collectible cards with a brief description of the various "bad guys" in a "before" scenario. To learn about the "now" scenario, you had to find all 3 Morphing Objects shown at the bottom of each card to unlock the current situation of that person, to me, that was a really creative feature that gave rhyme and reason to the collectible.
The Hidden Object Scenes are varied with Interactive List finds, Silhouetted Shape finds, Multiple Item finds, finding Items that match Icon Swatches. Most of them uncover fragments to collect which opens up a chest or box for the final piece, but several items are very small and may be difficult for some to see or recognize. There are several Zoom Zone HOS that have just a handful of silhouetted shape finds or Listed Items to find as well, but no alternate puzzle is offered.
The Mini-Games are mostly swap type puzzles which in itself isn't all that bad, however, most of those swap type puzzles have a feature where the puzzle piece turns green when it's placed correctly making it impossible to struggle with. All you have to do is swap until it turns green, you don't have to even look at the picture! Here's a list of brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1-Select 2 panels to swap to complete the lock picture. 2-Select 2 puzzle tiles to swap to complete the crystal picture. 3-Swap hexagon tiles to light up each light connectors. 4-Swap outer flower petals to match the inner flower petals. 5-Select each symbol portion to match the symbol shown. 6-Select lock rods in the correct order by trial and error. 7-Select 2 fan sections to complete the pattern. 8-Select 2 tokens at a time to find matching pairs. 9-Place shield fragments into the highlighted sections. 10-Find matching pairs by flipping 2 tiles which rotate if incorrect. 11-Swap 3 panels to form continuous paths for the flowers to travel. 12-Place tokens into their matching pattern centers.
The Collector's Edition version has 10 Wallpapers, 14 Concept Art pictures, 6 Screensavers, 11 Movie Videos, 5 Music Soundtracks, 11 re-playable Mini-Games, 14 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 16 Achievements to earn, 26 Morphing Masks, 58 Collectible Coins to buy 13 Items created by Miriam, 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter.

I'll admit, after the quick tutorial I was left scratching my head and saying "huh?" as I stared intently at the first real level. I returned to the tutorial level a second time and paid more attention to get the "aha!" moment. (or perhaps the duh moment) After that, I started flying through the levels, and I discovered that I don't even have to click the reset button if my initial choices don't get the job accomplished because you can move the element devices, or even return most of them to the inventory board. I'm a little leery about purchasing this game, however, because, from the demo, it appears to be a short game, but it could be that the demo doesn't show you all the levels?
The goal is to place various devices on cells that allow the magic energy to reach all of the cocoons to heal them and transform them into butterflies. The graphics are hand-drawn and beautiful, but the transformed butterflies could have made more of an impressive impact if they were more vividly colored, in my opinion.
You begin by placing Magic Energy Sources onto highlighted cells. Power Arrows can move in different directions (click on them to get directional arrows) which will activate even more highlighted areas. There are also Power Stars and Power Crosses that can be placed strategically onto highlighted cells which will expand the energy source in different patterns. Each of these devices has a number on them indicating how many of them can be used, and as I said before, you can move them around to see what areas and patterns work the best, and you can also drag them back to the inventory board to use them later, versus having to reset the level to the start.
Some of the levels contain Keys that must be collected by connecting an energy source to it or through it. If you don't collect the key, you can still win the level, but you will need all the keys to unlock the next set of levels.
If you just play around with the devices by moving them and seeing what effects they have, you'll catch on really quickly. I've noticed that my initial thought when seeing a new level was that I had to configure the devices in some crazy complicated layout manner, when in fact, it only required a few less complicated set-ups to get the job done.
Is it just me, or have you ever noticed that you scurry to use your last PCC's on just any old games you come across rather than losing them before they expire, and then a bunch of really cool games show up?

Detectives United: Origins has a masterfully crafted storyline and the concept is simply genius What it lacks in gameplay, it makes up for in the storyline, this dev is on fire! Origins take us back to the beginning when the Mystery Trackers Agency was just a pup, speaking of which...I better be making a trip to the local Mystery Tracker's animal shelter to pick up my partner Elf pretty soon! You will play this game in 3 different character perspectives, one as Agent Dorian Brown, the top agent, and Her Majesty's number one go-to detective. You'll switch thing's up a bit after pairing with the ever-sarcastic, fearless, ghost-busting, paranormal investigator that ain't afraid of no ghosts, James Blackthorne from Haunted Hotel, and to make this game the real deal, ultimate package, you'll also play as the Time-Traveling, family-saving, skull-toting matriarch of the Gray family, Anna from Grim Tales! NUFF SAID? :)
Can we talk about the Elephant in the room? Yes, we have a gadget, but this is what the Mystery Trackers Agency is all about, and I'm okay with it! Now if I could just use this device to locate an Elf...
I thought some of the Hidden Object Scenes were actually quite creative! I don't normally get impressed by HOP's lately because lately the scenes consist of a handful of objects that are out in the open with no attempt made to hide the objects. One of my favorite scenes centered around a film projector and the movie screen. I love HOS that require you to figure things out in order to progress so that one really impressed me, mostly because it was different. There are also Silhouetted Shape finds, Interactive List finds, Multiple finds and Matching Pair finds where you have to click on two objects at a time that reveals an object and try to find it's mate. There are also several Zoom Zone HOS, again, I was impressed with the creativity of some of these smaller mini HO's as well, bravo Elly!
The Mini-Games range from simplistic no-brainer puzzles to complex mini-games that require some thought. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during this sweet demo:
1-Select the symbols in the correct order as shown on the list. 2-Use the device to find 8 hidden Wisps in the scene. 3-Drag & place torn fragments to matching slots to restore the photo. 4-Use the magnifier to find coordinates in Roman Numeral order. 5-Slide square tiles to create an image, 2 cells allow tile rotations. 6-Move the balls to center slots by pushing rows & columns a specified number of cells.
This Collector's Edition version has 10 Wallpapers, 10 Concept Art pictures, 4 Music Soundtracks, 13 re-playable Mini-Games, 15 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 17 Achievements to earn, a Secret Room to search for Morphing objects, 14 Collectible Morphing Character Figures, 29 Morphing Objects, 20 Puzzle Pieces (4 Puzzles total) 3 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide, enjoy!

This is a decent Match 3 game that's perfect if you want to play a relaxing game, but if you like a challenge, I'm afraid you'll have to look elsewhere. The Jewel tiles are very pretty and you can choose a High Detail option in the settings section. You can choose to play in a Relaxed mode, Limited Time mode or Limited Moves mode. I chose to play in the Limited Time mode which seemed to have more than enough time to meet the level goals. I did like the fact that the levels jump quickly to the next the level without wasting time, and that you can make matches consecutively without any lag time.
There is somewhat of a story about Audrey who loves jewelry so much she decides to follow her dreams of owning a jewelry store. The jewelry shop she can afford requires quite a bit of renovation, so you play Match 3 levels to earn money to buy upgrades.
There are the usual obstacles some of which are in jewelry-related themes such as jewelry boxes instead of crates. There are also Frozen tiles etc. and cells that require matches made on top to remove slabs etc. Each level has its own goals of removing slab cells, removing a specific number of specific colored jewels, or dropping rings and other jewelry to the bottom of the board.
Large Matches will place a Bonus on the board, all bonuses are color-specific and won't activate until they are included in a match. Matches made in a T formation gives you additional Time, Combos 5x or more gives you a Bomb, Matches in an L formation gives you Lightning, and a Match 6 or 7 gives you a Grenade.
Power-ups become available to use once charged. The quicker you make matches, the more powerful they become such as a Hammer or a Shuffle feature, and are located to the right of the board. There are 120 levels, and once you have collected enough money, you can purchase upgrades to the shop, fresh paint, doors, jewelry counters, display cases etc, but you don't get to choose different styles or colors.
I whizzed through several levels during the demo and didn't have the need to use any power-ups or bonuses. I quickly became bored because the game was so easily mastered. It is a beautiful game with pretty jewel tiles, so if you're okay with playing an easy-breezy game, there's nothing else negative about the game.

JetDogs have really outdone themselves with the amazing graphics, but at what cost? I have a 27" MacPro which really allows the graphics to pop, but the dialog boxes are tiny, the font is so small it's hard to see at times and all the resource icons are smashed together on the right side, impossible to give it a quick glance to tell what you have already collected. When I played the CE version I used my laptop so I just assumed everything was small because of the smaller screen size. If not for that inconvenience I probably would have given this Standard Edition version a 5-star rating! (not to mention re-thinking my decision to buy this version)
You can play in an Easy untimed mode, Normal or Expert mode. (in the CE, if you earn the expert status of 3 stars, you can repair Mr. Gringrays Museum) You can replay any level to try for a better star rating. During the game, you can collect stars that will recharge the Bonus Icons faster, with typical features such as faster workers and more resources.
This SE version still offers 40 levels of gameplay, 34 Achievements to earn, Hidden Puzzle Runes in each scene the allow you to assemble 4 Puzzles, and 4 Secret Levels. From what I can tell, the only things you don't get with this version are 6 Wallpapers and a Strategy Guide!

I usually love Viking themed Time Management/Strategy games but man, it's nearly impossible to earn all 3 Stars! (wbtw was really confusing when I had to choose the level of challenge, is it poor because I couldn't easily earn 3 stars or excellent, which to me sounds like I loved the challenge but I didn't, I wanted it to be obtainable) If it were a little less challenging, this would be a 5 star strategy based game!
Strategy is the key word here because you have to build the correct buildings at the correct time, and you have to build sawmills, farms, and quarries, gather required resources, demolish them and build the huts etc. that you need to meet the level goals. If you don't figure out the correct combinations at the correct times, you'll be lucky to earn one star much less 2 or all 3.
When you build Huts they will give you gold, Sawmills give you wood, Quarries give you stone, and farms give you food, but huts constantly need to be clicked upon to send a worker to collect rent, Farms, Quarries and Sawmills require you to pay gold in exchange for their resources When the resources are produced, you just need to swipe over the wood, food, gold and stone to collect it.
There are the normal TM tasks of repairing roads and bridges, removing trees and other debris blocking the paths, gathering berries off of bushes, chopping down trees and opening chests that reveal various resources and talking with characters along the way to receive additional tasks.
The graphics are decent, the game moves at a nice pace, and I love Strategy-based Time Management games, but because this game seems to be nearly impossible to earn 3 stars from the get-go, it made it less interesting because it was less fun. If you're looking for a good Strategy-based game with a lot of challenge, you'll probably love Viking Chronicles.

Eric the wizard has returned to Spellarium with a new mission from the gods. After winning the war against Dark Spirits who went out of control, the gods have asked Eric the Wizard to rebuild the world left in ruins after the battle and build a great tower in honor of the gods who saved them.
If you love the Match 3 series Laruaville, Cursed House or Floria, you're gonna love this challenging game as well. They have added a new and exciting feature that makes this edition just a tad more challenging. You still get to play mini games such as Solitaire, Spot the Difference, and Hidden Object Scenes. You can play in Relaxed, Limited Time or Limited Moves modes, so there's a Match 3 style for just about everyone.
The object of each level is to remove all coins, but in order to do so, you will need to make several Match 5's to receive Rockets that will go after targeted coins that are located on the outside area of the board, or located behind obstacles that have no access otherwise! Matches of 4 tiles will earn you Dynamite that explodes to destroy those nasty ladybugs or set off chain reaction bombs, Matches of 6 tiles earn a Star that targets all tiles of the same kind as matched with.
Of course, there are several obstacles such as Crates, Crates with Shields, Ground tiles, Clay tiles, Stone tiles, Fog, Ice, and even Green Fog. Each of these obstacles requires specific items to destroy, you may need to fill bottles with liquid, fill in coins with liquid gold, move keys towards locks, move coin halves to make a whole coin or even ignite cannons.
There are Stumps this time that contains pictures and a number. You will need to make a specified number of matches of that specific tile to remove the stump that blocks areas of the board. Sometimes there are more than 1 Stump and you'll need to figure out which stump to remove first because one stump may be holding up stones that will fall and create a blockage if it's removed first.
This is the only Match 3 game that has really unique features and is really fun to play. It's also the only game that I choose to play on Limited Moves, I usually like Limited Time Match 3 Games, but for some reason, this game is more fun when you play in Limited Moves. All games by this dev are exceptional, and I'm glad they finally released a third Spellarium, I highly recommend this game, enjoy!

The graphics are horrible, cartoonish, old-fashioned, bland and about as basic as they can get. Clicking on each individual task requires either several clicks to get accepted as a checked task, or they are way too are finicky. The music is the same exact music this dev uses on their Solitaire games, in fact, on all of their games. The constant narrations are annoying, "Start" "I will get it done" "Your workers are busy" "Not enough workers" "Level finished" they say "level finished" when you just click on the last task even though they still have to finish the task! To sum it all up, this game isn't fun and is downright BORING!
You can select Casual or Normal mode before the start of each level, so I guess that's a plus? You can earn up to 3 Stars per level (Gold, Silver, Bronze) depending on the amount of time it takes you to complete the level.s which are re-playable, and you can earn 9 different Trophy Achievements.
This is a horrible Time Management game, I lasted 3 levels before bailing which is rare for me because I love TM games and I try very hard to at least complete the demo to give it a fair chance. I just couldn't do it, folks!

I just couldn't get into this game like everyone else did. I did buy Enfant Terrible in the Collector's Edition version, but it didn't hold my attention, and after a couple of days attempting to play it, I finally just gave up without finishing it. I'm not sure what it was, perhaps because the storyline didn't grab my attention the tasks just became mundane and more like a chore. The CE version received a 4.0 average, so my only suggestion is to try the demo for yourself and use my review for the game features available and form your opinion based on whether or not you enjoyed the demo because apparently, I'm the odd man out on this one. Here's a recap of my review to help you decide which version, if either, is right for you:
Enfant Terrible is just another "terrible" story about a detective who enters a person's nightmarish dreams to defeat the plague beaked-masked monsters that haunt them. To make matters worse, there are 2 gadgets that are just as believable as the monsters are scary. I've made this statement over and over, "if you can't come up with a creepy looking monster, don't show it!" Leave it up to one's own imagination to picture the things that go bump in the night, catching glimpses of something lurking or stalking can be just as terrifying, and certainly better than seeing these cheesy looking things leftover from a B-rated horror flick!
I was super curious about the title they chose, Enfant Terrible. What is an Enfant Terrible? According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, it's (A) a child whose inopportune remarks cause embarrassment. (B) a person known for shocking remarks or outrageous behavior, or (C) a usually young and successful person who is strikingly unorthodox, innovative, or avant-garde. I'm going to loosely translate that as a very non-scary, weird nightmare creature you'd laugh about in the morning when you wake up wondering what you ate that caused that dream, which seems to pertain to this story a little more than any of those other definitions.
It seems unfathomable, but there are actually 2 GADGETS used in this much anticipated Whispered Secrets game! The first gadget is a Detective's Mirror that detects hidden caches. Let's just stop right here for a moment of silence..............sigh! This gadget brings up so many questions, mostly WHAT? & WHY? Really? Okay, I quickly overcame my grief only to discover that this magical mystery machine requires a Crystal to make it do its mirror master detecting, and guess what, it breaks after one use, of course, and says the same thing each time. "it's amazing but quite finicky" Next up we have a Dreamcatcher that allows the detective to enter someone's dream, aka nightmare. (lets not even talk about the fact that this plot has been done at least once in just about every series) Moving on to the graphics, what happened to the awesome, realistic graphics that were so cool in Everburning Candle? The graphics here are sometimes downright cartoon looking. The nightmare "monsters" are cheesy looking and so not scary. I used to love this series, but 2 gadgets, a been there done that storyline, large unrealistic graphics, and cheesy looking monsters, has me seriously doubting this series should move forward!
The Hidden Object Scenes are in abundance, but some of the scenes are repeated. Most of the HOS are in the form of sketches in a book to progress the plot or give background sight to fill in the blanks of the story, tasking you to find and replace 3 Keyword Items on each page. There are also Progressive Interactive Silhouetted Shape Finds, Items to find to use as a tool to open up the Interactive Listed Items, Multiples of the same Item Finds, Finding all Morphing Objects, and several Zoom Zone HOS to find a handful of Listed Items, some of which require a slight interaction. There is an optional Match 3 game to play if you're not into Hidden Object Scenes.
The Mini-Games are numerous and many of them are available in an Easy or Hard Difficulty Mode. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during and after the demo:
1-Swap upper & lower lock teeth to match the key shape. 2-Hover over green orbs to collect them while avoiding red orbs. 3-Swap the positions of the yellow & blue tiles. 4-Draw a single continuous line to all symbols on the dreamcatcher. 5-Fill meter by clicking the red buttons when the blue icons reach the green zone. 6-Select the numbered branches in the correct order. 7-Place railroad tracks correctly onto the silhouetted shapes. 8-Light all haystacks in a single line using directional arrows. 9-Swap puzzle pieces to reconstruct the image. 10-Place the stars into the correct slots. 11-Select the pumpkins in the correct order by trial & error. 12-Slide tokens along paths until they reach the correct slots. 13-Plant at least 3 seeds in a row, new ones grow after each move. 14-Select matching pairs of keys. 15-Place torn fragments into their correct silhouetted shapes. 16-Fill all squares by selecting & dragging limited moves colors.
The Collector's Edition version has10 Wallpapers, 12 Concept Art pictures, 15 Achievements to earn, 8 Music Soundtracks, 11 re-playable Movie Cutscenes, 25 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes (Best Time & Best Accuracy % scores) 11 re-playable Mini-Games (Best Time scores) 35 Collectible Memorable Objects (collect 35 memory objects to unlock the Hidden Chapter) 20 Hidden Zoom Zone Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces (assemble the 20 piece Jigsaw to set the Screensaver Wallpaper) 21 Morphing Objects, 5 Main Chapters (The Nightmare) +Hidden Chapter (Forest of Dreams) +Bonus Chapter (The Last Sleep) and a built-in Strategy Guide, sleep well and enjoy!
