I've always been a jigsaw puzzle junkie, the bigger the better, and I have a hard time pulling myself away from a puzzle until it's been completed. I prefer the good old fashioned physical jigsaw puzzles, but sometimes virtual puzzles are more practical.
The puzzles offered in Holiday Jigsaw Christmas 4 (as well as Christmas 1-2-3 and Thanksgiving Day 1 & 2 etc.) just aren't that appealing to me, mostly because all of the pictures are staged and unappealing. What I mean by staged, is that the photographer takes a few Christmas themed objects, and places them on a background perfectly aligned, such as two cups of hot cocoa next to a plate of Christmas cookies. I like pictures of animals or beautiful sceneries, and all this puzzle has to offer is food and family type pictures. That's all good if you're into that type of puzzle, but I prefer the pictures that are offered in Earth Chronicles puzzles, which has twice as ,any puzzles.
There are 100 puzzles available in each of the 5 categories, Decorations, Winter, Family, Treats and Presents. Any puzzle can be modified with the amount of pieces you want, the style of cut and whether or not you want the pieces to rotate.
There are several tools available, you can choose to ghost the image of the puzzle on the background, or have a real picture shown in three different sizes. There is a Magnifying glass and a Hint icon, you can use the Border only option or the Sort option, and you can store extra pieces in the box until you have more room. Who knows, maybe next year's version will have better pictures, but I doubt this series will ever change.

Although I don't see this game as a 5 star adventure, I do like the storyline which is kind of quirky, complete with zombified citizens and even mermaids! After the demo, I found the graphics took a drastic turn when at times they seemed cartoonish, not crisp like at the beginning of the demo. The characters are appealing and likeable which can make or break a game if you cannot connect with the characters, especially the main character who is usually the one you portrait. Song of Sorrow is a consistent game other than the wavering graphics, but if compared to the last Whispered Secrets: Everburning Candle, it doesn't, well, it doesn't hold a candle to it, pun intended. Both Editions are good, but in my opinion, this Standard version is the better option because the only bling offered in the Collector's Edition version is a handful of Achievements and hidden Gems to collect to restore an ancient underwater statue.
Whispered Secrets is one of those sleeper series that everyone forgets about yet, they all have fairly interesting storylines and features that gamers adore. I've always enjoyed these games which include the Everburning Candle, Golden Silence, Into the Beyond, Into the Wind and the Story of Tideville. In the Collector's Edition version, the collectible gems glint with no option to stop the glimmering in the custom mode, and the Amulet used to "charm" animals/turn me into a mermaid is a bit overused and cliche. Some of the Hidden Object Scenes are repeated in the same scene which is a feature I really hate, because HOP's can be boring the first time around, much less a second time. As with all Whispered Secret games, you will find occasional picture clues, that are used to match up to the original scene which somehow exposes a hidden cache or hiding place that wasn't there before (a treehouse that wasn't there before, really?)
The Hidden Object Scenes are very basic, slightly interactive List finds, that are so sparse on objects that they are super easy, and for me, super boring, especially when the scene is repeated moments later. There are also Silhouetted Shape finds and Multiple finds, and one that could qualify for a mini game which I'll describe in the following paragraph. Some scenes require you to use directional arrows to pan left or right as well.
The Mini Games are not bad, but most of them are extremely easy to solve. Below are brief descriptions of some of the puzzles you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Press the take aim button when the marble is in the cross hairs, to shoot the arrow.
2) Find the missing seahorses by interacting with the scene.
3) Move the weapons tokens to the correct slots to complete the image, in a three part puzzle using arrows to pan left or right to the next puzzle.
4) Rotate circle sections to complete the image.
5) Rotate the circle sections to complete the image, clicking on one section may affect other sections.
6) Each time you use the Amulet you play a mini game requiring you to drag the light through every note only once.
7) Restore the picture by sliding square picture tiles using to the one empty square to solve.
8) Interact with items in the horse drawn cart to escape the zombies by finding each silhouetted shape item shown and using that item interactively.
9) Another Amulet mini game where you guide the blue bubble to absorb all the other bubbles from smallest to largest.
The Collector's Edition has 15 Achievements to earn, replayable Hidden Object Scenes and Mini Games, 8 Music Soundtracks, 36 Collectible glittering Gems, 8 replayable Movie Videos, 10 Wallpapers, 11 Workshop Concept Art pictures, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

Adam Wolfe has returned, in this spectacular 4 part Supernatural Detective series which is unlike no other game available! In the first Adam Wolfe game offered, which actually has two cases, The Ancient Flame, and The Devil You Know, it was revealed that Adam had a unique supernatural ability, and his search for his missing sister Allison, had led him deep into the world of cults that had some pretty unusual abilities.
In this episode, which also has two parts, The Lady and the Painter, and Zero hour, Adam gets closer to finding out the truth about his sister and the cult that goes by the name of Timeless. In fact Adam may just be a little too close, to finding out the truth as the cult's members are doing everything they can to stop him, permanently!
I encourage you to buy the first game in this series by Madhead games, because this episode takes place where the game left off. As I stated before, the first game has two episodes the first game is the demo, the second "case" can only be accessed after you purchase the game, which is exactly how this game is. You can probably figure out the plot without playing the first game, but at a Standard version game price I guarantee that you will not be disappointed! I have played hundreds of games and I have NEVER played a game as interesting as this one.
You have fairly realistic tools available as you play the part of Adam, who narrates his thoughts as well as his next move and why. Your Smartphone is used as a journal and also contain your objectives, a jump map and of course a camera and database. Adam's watch is used to reenact events from the past, and the Eye icon allows Adam's intense focus to kick in to help him concentrate and locate missing items. You also have a revolver, after all you are a detective, but don't let that bother you, it's really not that graphic.
The Hidden Object Scenes are very creative, although there are still normal Interactive List finds, many are more of a mini game than an HOP. My favorite scene was using the phone to take photo's of flying objects, and then finding the Silhouetted Shape matches by scrolling through the phone gallery.
The Mini Games are just as creative, some involve using the Intense Focus icon to find 4 clues. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Spot the differences between a house and a previous picture.
2) Take photos of objects when the object is in the green focus circle.
3) Assemble the photo fragments.
4) Using intense focus, find 4 clue areas, and then arrange them into logical order.
5) Choose the sentences you want to apply to a letter.
6) Use directional arrows to avoid vehicles during a high speed chase.
This is a fantastic game, Madhead is truly the best when it comes to "out of the box" thinking, enjoy!

Those Chickens are at it again and this time they have Gingerbread men to help! This game is a chicken blasting hoot, and is so addicting you just can't stop playing. Just like the days of space invaders, you are tasked with blasting chickens from outer space, only the graphics are way better than the old arcade games of yesteryear.
You must defend your planet from space invaders, which in this case are vicious and relentless Chickens! The Chicken invaders have unique weapons and defenses, the hens lay eggs that will completely obliterate your spaceship should you take a direct hit or even if you mistakenly broadside a falling egg. When you blast the full grown chickens, they will reward you with delicious chicken legs and even whole roasted chickens, which can only be collected when your spaceship runs over them, which isn't always easy when the egg bombs are everywhere! There are also keys to collect, burgers, presents and weapon upgrades to snag. There are several achievements available and a high score leader board that will list all of your top scores (and the scores of other players on your computer)
The options are vast, starting with the fact that you can choose the method you want to use to control your spaceship and weapons, your keyboard, your mouse, and even touchscreens! The best feature in my opinion, is that you get to customize your spaceship with the keys you collect during the game, as well as backgrounds from previous versions. For starters, you will choose the base color of the spaceship, the color of the cockpit, and the color of the engine flames both inner and outer. There are several colors and shades to choose from and you will unlock paint options for the fuselage, the weapons pod, the tail wing, and even the density and shininess of the spaceship!
In my opinion, this is a very addicting game that would be awesome on your phone as well. The graphics have come a long way since the days of Space Invaders, not to mention the fact that the mouse has greatly improved our ability to control the spaceship. Give it a try, but be warned, you're gonna get hooked on this comical chicken invading game, enjoy!

Christmas Wonderland is a family tradition that just keeps getting better, 7 times better! The thing I love the most about these games is the fact that they're designed to entertain the family as a whole, it's meant to be played with the kids, and even grandkids! This game's all about family traditions, and has become a family tradition in my household as well!
Each scene has beautiful Christmas themed graphics and several listed items to search for within the scene. You will also need to find 3 hidden Gold Christmas Trees, and each scene also contains lost and found items, which are shown as silhouetted shapes inside an icon on the left of the screen, the door will close when all items have been found. Some of the items to find are listed in red which means that the item is hidden in or behind something, such as a backpack, which can be clicked on to expose the item. Items in blue text require some type of interaction such as feeding the baby reindeer by dragging the bottle to the baby calf.
After each seek and find game, there will be a mini game or puzzle available such as rotating puzzle pieces, putting together a puzzle one piece at a time, flipping over two ornaments at a time in search of matching pairs and even my personal favorite, spot the difference.
Your score will be tallied at the end of each scene and you will earn a bronze star if you find all of the items to complete the scene, a silver star if you complete the level and find all of the trees OR all of the silhouetted shapes, and a gold star if you complete the level, find all of the gold trees AND all silhouetted lost and found items. You can replay any level at any time in order to find items you didn't find the first time.
There are 18 Trophy achievements to earn and you can visit the shop to buy Christmas presents to display on a shelf. There is a regular Hint as well as a Mega hint which highlights all items for a brief period of time, but you will earn an Eagle Eye bonus if you don't use any hints. Make this game one of your family traditions and enjoy!

On the first year of Christmas Stories, my Big Fish gave to me, The Nutcracker in a CE. On the second year of Christmas Stories, my Big Fish gave to me, A Christmas Carol in a CE. On the third year of Christmas Stories, my Big Fish gave to me, Hans Christian Andersen's Tin Soldier in a CE. On the fourth year of Christmas Stories, my Big Fish gave to me, Puss in Boots in a CE. This year the fifth year, my Big Fish gave to me, The Gift of the Magi in a CE! ....FIVE GOLDEN STARS.... four falling stars, three can't win, two just won't do, and one star goes on top of my tree!
Christmas just isn't Christmas until Santa delivers a new Christmas Stories game on his sleigh led by Rudolph the Big Eared Elephant! The Gift of the Magi is another brilliant game adaptation that will assuredly get you in a Holly Jolly mood just in time for Christmas. Although this is a beautiful, whimsical Christmas Stories addition to the series, none of these games can hold a candle to the original, Christmas Stories: Nutcracker, but that's just my opinion. I also BELIEVE that the Nutcracker has more intense graphics than any of the others in this series.
We can't deliver all this magic by ourselves folks, so Goody the Elf has agreed to lend his tiny hands so that Oliver can fill the Snowball of Good Deeds and save his sister Wendy. It looks like Wendy's actions put her on the naughty list, which summoned Berta, the evil spirit who punishes naughty kids! If not for the help of Jack Frost himself, Oliver may never have seen his sister again, so Jack has frozen time for a while, to give Oliver time to create Christmas miracles! I was a bit disappointed with the bling offered in the CE version, there aren't any hidden gift boxes to discover, collectible Santa's or Snowmen, no hidden Mistletoe. The possibilities are endless in a Christmas game like this, but instead, the devs chose 14 Morphing Christmas Gnomes, which aren't very appealing to Puss in Boot. There are also 36 Collectible Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces available in the CE, that will allow you to assemble three different puzzles and use as Screensavers, Bah Humbug!
The Hidden Object Scenes are just okay, neither bad nor epic, but at least they are all Christmas themed. In the demo itself, there are Interactive List finds, and a scene where you open up two christmas presents at a time as you search for Matching Pairs.
The Mini Games are exactly what you'd expect in a Christmas themed game. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Swap berries on gingerbread men to reflect the same colored berry as on their bellies.
2) Use the clue to put the Santa and children behind the correct color coded gift bags.
3) Restore the photo by correctly placing the torn fragments into the frame.
4) Untangle the string of lights. (or just throw them away because nobody has the patience to untangle the Xmas lights!)
The Collector's Edition has 5 Music Soundtracks, a Secret Room, 11 replayable Mini Games, 13 replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 14 Morphing Santa Gnomes, 36 Hidden Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces, 3 Screensavers, 14 Concept Art pictures, 14 Wallpapers, 22 Achievements, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, ho ho ho, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Great Match 3 game with challenging levels and several styles to choose from, and the graphics are beautiful. You can play in Relaxed or Timed mode, in Swap mode, Group mode or Chain modes, AND you can choose the grid style of regular squares, hexagonal or a mixture!
The goal is to break all marbled tiles, and as you progress, there are tiles blocked with boxes, stone, chains and walls. Once you have filled the Dragon's Eye with matches, you will receive a bonus. There are several bonuses, a Hammer to break a single tile, a Bomb to destroy a group of tiles, a Mixer to reshuffle the tiles, Fluids to explode 25 random tiles, Row, Column and Cross exploders to destroy tiles in rows, columns or both, a Magnet removes all of the same type of tile, an Hour Glass fills the time meter and a Plus Sign connects two different types of tiles in the chained mode.
Some tiles give you resources which are needed to build the ancient city. With each building you build, more resources of a specific kind are earned. This game reminds me of the Cradle of Rome series because the boards and features are similar, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Myths of the World: Bound by the Stone Collector's Edition
Can you stop the evil beasts before it’s too late?
This "Top Reviewer" is one of our most frequent game reviewers. We think you'll trust what they have to say and find their reviews helpful and informative.
Ouch! I bought this game because of today's sale, normally Myths of the World games are really good. I gotta tell ya, I was more than a little bored playing the demo (I bought the game after I had started the demo download) I found myself texting, doodling on my notepad and staring out of the window at the bright white snow, and because the game was so not interesting, now I'm snowblind, great! The graphics are so blase and lack detail, the tasks are meaningless, there's little to do in each scene except pick up inventory items, my inventory bar is filling up with endless parts, and the storyline is about blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!
Seriously, this is a game about Wizards! You play the role of a Defender apprentice who must demonstrate to the Master that you have the skills and knowledge necessary. There's no better time than now to prove your worth because guess what? Bet you already guessed that your limo just got ambushed by a pack of ferocious wolves, and the Master has been hurt. Okay, so it's not a limo, it's just a single horse and cart and there were really just two mangy wolves who probably just have rabies in reality, but I'm trying really hard to make this story more interesting. Out of nowhere, a Forest Sprite, well, she's probably not a sprite because she's pretty big, more like a 7-up, she tells you to do what you gotta do and she will do what she's gotta do, help the Master, hmf. So after you repair the heavy bridge with a very small gear that had to be beaten back into shape, you look around for anything that will be useful on your journey. Aha! that solid cast iron cauldron is perfect, you'll just lug that puppy into town (keep in mind that you no longer have transportation) (wait a minute, what happened to the horse, did 7-up take him too?) It's a good thing though because the village well doesn't have a bucket, what are the odds of that!
A wizard, good or bad, needs something magical to help him wiz , I was thinking more along the line of a staff or an owl, but it's a Medallion that fends off evil, and rabid wolves too. You will have to take a few minutes to solve a puzzle before using it's powers so it's never going to work in a time constraint situation, and it'll need to be charged after each use, and I'm pretty confident that this village doesn't have AA batteries. Don't forget to search each scene for giant wolf fangs, complete with a wolf head, eventually you'll need to find a really big toothbrush, I hear that the girl with the red cloak can help you out.
The Hidden Object Scenes are scenes where objects are hidden.
The Mini Games, I'm not going to lie, I skipped most of them because as I mentioned before, I was bored by this game. But, just in case you want to know more, the following are brief descriptions of some of the scenes you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Medallion game-press an empty square between 2 symbols to combine them until only one remains,
2) Use directional arrows and rotation buttons to clear a path for the red pin, in 2 progressively harder puzzles.
3) Find symbols that match the symbols shown, on several sketches.
4)Create a continuous path that use all the lines only once, collecting new flowers along the way.
5) Match the trophies with the correct antlers and knives based on color and symbols using L&R arrows to switch between trophies and U&D arrows to see more trophy parts.
This Collector's Edition has 13 Achievements, replayable Skipping Stones games, 11 replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 18 replayable Mini Games, Morphing Objects within the HOP's, a Souvenir Room, 38 Hidden Wolf Fangs, 10 Music Soundtracks, 6 Videos, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter.
I don't recommend this game.

Same Concept As Galactic Express But Not Nearly As Fun
This "Top Reviewer" is one of our most frequent game reviewers. We think you'll trust what they have to say and find their reviews helpful and informative.
After stumbling across a wonderful tetris style game yesterday, called Galactic Express, I searched for similar games and found this one, which just happens to be from the same dev. It must be older than Galactic Express because the graphics aren't very good and there aren't nearly as many features. The conveyor belt doesn't move on this version either, so you have to place pieces in order to have new ones made available which to me, made the game less appealing but certainly more challenging.
The features are basically the same, you must pick up tetris shaped pieces and place them onto the cargo ship without leaving gaps, and within the allotted time, unless you have chosen to play in the Casual untimed mode. Placing "special pieces will earn you more money to purchase power-ups, and Time, Token or Cash icons occasionally appear. If you place the next piece over the icon you get extra time on the meter, 1 token or a $250 bonus.
This game has a feature that allows you to create your own puzzle board in an etch-a-sketch kind of manner which I think is pretty cool, if you're into that kind of creativeness. Ocean Express didn't "float my boat" the way that Galactic Express did, so I recommend playing that game over Ocean Express.
ALL YOU DO IS GO FROM PUPPET TO PUPPET STEALING A PART FROM ONE TO FIX ANOTHER

fromIt's even worse when I have to play all games by this dev in windowed mode, otherwise the screen stretches too much and I can't see anything located on the sides!
This "Top Reviewer" is one of our most frequent game reviewers. We think you'll trust what they have to say and find their reviews helpful and informative.
I gave the Collector's Edition a 3 star rating because this game was just more of the same. The same weird storyline about yet another town (or perhaps it's the same town each time with a whole lot of bad things happening) who treats puppets as if they are real. No wonder there are so many problems, these folks are nuts! The puppets turn evil every single time and there's always at least one bad puppet master calling the shots and controlling the outcome, and of course you are the detective who tries to stop the bad guy. So as you do your detective thing, fixing every single mechanical lock and gadget in the entire town (how do these people survive? I'm beginning to think they call in the detective because they can't make a move, everything is broken or missing) You grab parts from one puppet to use in the next puppet, replace batteries, give 'em a new heart (really gepetto?) I did indeed purchase this game in the CE during a BOGO sale, but I found that little changed after the demo, not to mention that the storyline became less clear the more I played. The characters all look the same and I had a hard time remembering who was who. By now you've probably figured out that my feelings haven't changed, this isn't my cup of tea, so Rosie doesn't have to waste her time pouring me a cup. Here's the downlow on my take of the game.
Bloody Rosie is certainly better than Her Cruel Intentions, it's predecessor, but I've never been a fan of any of the PuppetShow games. The graphics are hand drawn and masterfully done, but I've never been a fan of that type either, I'll take a game with computer generated graphics any day. I think most gamers have a hard time relating to these games because it's really hard to imagine a world where puppets are normal much less normal back in the days of horse drawn carriages. In the last PuppetShow game you chose from 3 different characters, in this game there are 6 to chose from, three women and three men. In the Collector's Edition version, you'll collect Roses, in the scenes as well as the HOP's, and these roses are used to purchase Medallions. Every 3 Medallions purchased will unlock a character upgrade such as hairstyles, clothing and accessories. Once you have collected 3 medallions, you will play a Match 3 click and drag game to unlock that feature.
Surprise! You play the role of a detective, summoned to the mechanical town of Oldern, where the local doctor, Thomas Cox believes his wife was murdered contrary to what the local police believe. Upon your arrival, you are almost immediately attacked by puppets who don't seem amused by your investigation. The bigger question however, is who's pulling the strings?
In the last game we were assisted by a mechanical cat, this time our assistant has been upgraded to a picture taking, flying puppet doll. If that isn't ridiculous enough for ya, how about a shoot out with a shurikens throwing puppet? Not only do I load my over/under shotgun with just 2 bullets, (yep, I loaded my shotgun with 50 cal. bullets not shotgun shells) but I shoot at the puppet and the shurikens multiple times in a rapid succession, with my two magically reloading bullets! It gets even more amusing when I have to locate several items in a HOP centered around the doctor's wife's dead body, then I carry a wounded soldier to the ambulance by dragging a tiny character icon towards the ambulance. Now the good doctor at this point is getting on my nerves when he suggests that we put his wife in there as well, and stop by his puppet making friends place on the way to the hospital! Oh, I almost forgot the best part! The doctor said he'd watch the soldier while I fix the broken carriage wheel, say what! I almost want to play this one through for more comedy.
The Hidden Object Scenes are boring and the scenes are repeated. Most are typical interactive list finds or Multiple finds. There's really nothing further I can add to this topic because they were all the same.
The Mini Games are incredibly easy, and unfortunately they are the easy games that aren't really all that fun. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Swap soldier figurines until they are correctly placed and turn green.
2) Aim the target at the throwing stars to shoot them which brings you closer to the main target, you must shoot the puppet as well 5 times to win.
3) Select and drag the candle while trying to avoid falling snowflakes.
4) Guide the horse by playing a 3D Match 3 game.
5) Interact with the play as you place items from the inventory list into the scene correctly. (possibly a HOP)
6) Using the clues shown, put the hearts into the correct positions with gears.
The Collector's Edition has 8 Wallpapers, 7 Concept Art pictures, Collectible Roses to upgrade your Character, 14 replayable Mini Games, 20 replayable HOP's, 13 Achievements to earn, 6 Screensavers, 4 Music Soundtracks, 12 replayable Movies, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter.
