Beautiful music very relaxing. Two modes of play, adventure and timed. The timed is split up into 4 categories, easy to hard in all, but they very in complexity. Adventure is fun, it has a story but it is nothing like an HO. You play a Sudoku type game, then when you win you open a chest and...well I don’t want to give it all away. There are also some mini puzzles occasionally tossed in.
I loved the relaxing mood and music in Zen (the timed game); I don’t care about my time I just want to enjoy the game. HOWEVER, the makers actually ruined the game for me with the snotty rude comments. If you are not “rushing” to finish you are called names and compared to plankton, amoeba, an ape, Neanderthal, or if you do very well you’re an alien….what is the point of that? I thought the objective of the game was to relax while stimulating your gray matter.
I’m personally very disappointed; the game has a lot of potential replay value. The music is wonderful, it really should be a fun game, but the dev.’s spoiled it with the sarcasm/insults.
In adventure mode you are not insulted, but then you’re only playing a small part of the game. If insults don’t bother you, than you may enjoy the other aspects of the game.
Test it before buying, I almost purchased, but after being insulted I won’t spend my money on it.
Pure adventure, no HOS. No voice overs, written text only. Music is soft background and relaxing. There are puzzles that are unique and fun. Puzzles come with 3 different hints, you access one at a time as needed. There is a skip button. Upon completion of game you will be able to play 3 different types of games…the same types that are in the game, just different configuations.
There is a journal that lists your goals to help keep you on track, and a map (it is not interactive/teleport). There is an occasional sparkle and your curser will turn into a magnifying glass when you need to look closer at something.
Very enjoyable. I did go to the forum in the very beginning for a hint. You do have a hint button in the game, but it usually just says “nothing to do here, try somewhere else” or it will highlight a spot where you need to do something but not tell you exactly what to do. There will be some gray matter exercised here.
As adventure games go it is fairly short, maybe 4 hours give/take. Graphics are drawn and very basic but everything fits together to make it an enjoyable game.

Classic middle eastern fairy tale. Primarily a HO game with a few puzzles. Graphics are beautiful and clear. Full screen does NOT fill 15” laptop. You have the option of playing timed or not. HO list is not fixed and new items will appear as you click off old items. There is a click penalty. There is a button to the left that will allow you to zoom in one level, then back…..you can also move the screen right, left, up or down by holding down the left mouse bottom and sliding, all of which will be necessary as some items are rather small.
At bottom left is a red button, it is your “clue” (or hint) button, you are given a limited amount of clues, but can add to them by finding a bonus item in each scene. Music is different than we normally get, lovely, traditional middle eastern. There are no voice overs, but has ample text. The characters are cartoon characters, cute.
HO fans should enjoy this, relaxing music and great visuals with challenging but not aggravating HO scenes.
I recommend this game!

A little gem of a game. Not as refined as our top 10 games, but beautiful, pleasant and relaxing. Very intuitive, flow is good, easy to figure out what to do next.
The music is very background and not intrusive. Game play flows very well, there is a journal that will record information and give clues as to what to do next. HOs are not excessive, a good balance with adventure. The HOS are openly spaced, not cluttered or excessively full. There is only one mode of play, comfortable! The hint button fills in slowly. Puzzles are different, unique from what we’ve seen in current games. There is a skip button as well.
No voice overs but there is written text. I recommend you don’t skip the cut scenes (they are not long), and read the text. There are 42 hidden pieces of a journal; if you collect them they will give you additional background story.
It’s not a very long game, maybe 4 hours. But it is a nice change, very pleasant and enjoyable to play.

As indicated there are 3 games. The first, IMHO, is the best. That said, I did not play part 2, just didn’t like the look or feel (personal preference on scenery, check the demo and you will see what I mean). Part 3 is adventure game meets find X of X.
•Not you’re standard HO, no junk pile, no list…find so many of this item, and items have relevance. •All graphics (HO included) are crisp and clear. Very beautiful. •Music is very relaxing and enjoyable. •Puzzles are very different and you can select your level of difficulty (or easy). •Options available to change resolution size, I still came up just short of filling my 15” laptop (maybe ¼ inch each side), but it was definitely better than black bars. •No map, no need…you’re in a house with a few rooms, yard, and shed. •No journal, no need. •Task bar with hints available, hint fills in relatively quickly. •Inventory items are used fairly quickly after finding. •At conclusion of game your given information on length of play (mine was 3hrs 44 min), hints used, number of skips, etc. It may be considered a short game but it is very enjoyable, relaxing and draws you in.
While the game actually tells you what to get/find and do, getting, finding and doing are more challenging (especially the doing..which would be your puzzles).
Part 1 (personal favorite) sets up the story and lets you draw your own ideas of what is reality or not. Part 2, well I didn’t like the look/feel so didn’t play. This, part 3, is the conclusion and explains everything from part 1 to present….or does it?
I highly recommend you play part 1 first, regardless if you play 2 and/or 3.

As SE’s go has more MB than some CE’s and they include strategy guides, wallpaper, concept art and music, so here you’re getting more game play for the money than most SE’s. Not quite as large as most large file games. Your demo is 800 of the 964 MB full game; download will take longer than your average demo.
Opening scene is actual film footage, ticking clock, frustration, builds to anxiety, and hopes of what may come!
•3 modes of play-casual, normal and advanced. •Defaults to wide screen that does NOT fill my 15” laptop, however, the full screen DOES fill (thank you). •Puzzles in frame, have skip option to bottom left and instructions bottom right. One puzzle in 50 minutes of play. •Journal not impressive, basic information. •Graphics- clean crisp and large, quite beautiful actually. •Music, none to speak of. The “song” daddy sings really gets on your nerves…when you leave a scene it still goes on, you can’t make it stop (unless you turn off volume in options). •HOS interactive, cluttered and no click penalty. When HO is complete it does not close automatically, you have to manually back out. Items in HO are so close to bottom of screen that when you go to click on them you will leave the HO (several times), very annoying! •HO scenes never go away, when your finished and move on to another task, come back they are still there, but there is nothing to do (what’s with that?). •Scenes flux between actual person with voice over (lousy acting) and cartoon character with bubble text (cartoon character is not well drawn or flattering at all).
Conclusion: Story doesn’t flow well when interrupted with actual people mixed with cartoon and bubble text almost like dev. couldn’t decide which way to go so did both (pick one or the other!). Graphics the most beautiful I’ve seen in a while, and that is the best part of this game.
I apologize for not completing the game and providing a review, I wanted to at least complete the demo to give an objective review, it was just unpleasant enough not to finish. Adventure lite, heavy on HO. If you love heavy/straight Ho you may feel differently, please try the demo, you may not like the way the game mechanics handle.
It is a real shame, the story is very compelling and the graphics are wonderful however game play flow stinks. A definite no buy for me!

Well now! Not exactly what I was expecting! For those that state we get the same ole story line, try this! No grave yards, no witches, no skulls, and well, yes you do have snakes (fear not, it’s only in one scene). For those of us that love a good story line, here ya go, it’s very unique and I believe I can safely say there’s not been one like it….
•Play options-there are 3, I played in advanced (middle) and had NO sparkles. Wide screen DID fill my 15" laptop screen (thank you!) •Hint button in advanced seem to take a good 4 minutes or longer (didn’t time, just felt like that). •Graphics, the scenery is very good except the people and dogs could have been better. •There is voice over throughout the game, performed better than most. •Music is on a loop, it’s ok and you really don’t notice as you are so busy searching and reading, yes there is some text, not much buy you will want to read so you know what is going on in the story. •HO-full but not cluttered or junky. There are not a lot of HO. Items are well hidden but not impossible to find. •Puzzles-not really a lot. HO and Puzzles are fairly balanced. Nothing new, but ones that you rarely see. •You get your handy dandy journal that reminds you of what you’ve found out and items you’ve gotten •Inventory-there is one particular item that you carry quite a long time, most are used within an acceptable amount of time, not necessarily immediately. •There is a map that will teleport you, and you will be doing a little backtracking (not excessive). •Storyline is very captivating, you will not really get the full grasp of *why* until mid-way through.
It is a not a short game, took me about 6 hours altogether, I read everything, did not skip games and just enjoyed the scenery (I love to search an area for things to do). Game play is fluid, I did not get stuck until the end when I had to use the hint button more than several times (that’s how I know it took so long to fill), that could just be because I stopped overnight and lost track of what it was I was going to do/go.
The demo does not give you a chance to find out the storyline it’s just a jumpstart into the game, but it does give you a sense of how the game plays and flows. I would say more adventure than HO.

Expansive search area with lots of adventure, places to go and things to snoop in! Heavy on adventure, with some HO. HO are very well integrated, some monochromatic “bluish/gray”, does hide items well. Puzzles are interesting and vary from the regular we normally get, and slightly more difficult than usual.
Voice over throughout the game, and it is well performed. Integrated strategy guide, journal, and no map. The search area is expansive and a map would have been nice to help remember what is where, or even teleport.
There are 3 options to play and advanced did not have sparkles! You are able to access the option to change play difficulty any time while playing. The hint button does take a while to fill (3 minutes?). Music is pleasant enough, but I‘ve never had issues with music in these games. You have the option of turning it off. WIDE SCREEN!!! And it filled my 15” laptop.
Graphics are painted, well done if a little on the blurry side (think they do this to try and make it more “spooky”). While slightly blurry, still clear enough to enjoy.
It’s exciting, spooky and if you like adventure/investigating pure enjoyment.

I prefer to finish a game before writing a review. However, I could only play 15 minutes before I just got disgusted.
Based upon Russian Fairytale. Graphics are beautifully drawn/painted. Music is relaxing and not intrusive. 3 levels of play. Hint button in advanced mode takes approximately 60 seconds to refill. HO has sparkles (even in advanced mode). HO are not cluttered and are VERY well hidden, almost to the point of ridiculousness. There is no click penalty. There is some interaction, some HO are find 12 of this, 15 of that. There are some puzzles as well. The only voice over is the intro. Inventory items are very small, “thin” and difficult to see (the crow bar is almost invisible).
Game play feels jerky, literally. Whenever something is written in your journal the game literally stops and you just look at a still life scene, you are prevented from moving forward.
Could have been a wonderful game. But I don’t need the eye strain and frustration. I enjoy a well-placed HO but when done to excess is just an unpleasant experience. A no buy for me.
