The developers certainly took a risk with this game, and it paid off greatly! (based on entire demo on casual mode. Actual rating 4 1/2 stars)
Good Parts: Absolutely loved the HOS. They were excellent, with a great challenge and included plenty of interactive objects. Some had an extra step where you had to find one object to get another object on the list. Great storyline. I loved the way the trees and ghosts were put in to it. I was hanging on the edge of my seat. Great graphics. Very clear, realistic and modern. Made me feel like I was actually at the scene of the game. Hint and skip recharged pretty quickly. Strategy guide was included and was a handy hint for when I was stuck on the puzzles. I liked the use of "locked items." This was a unique feature to this game. You had to find two parts of an item, and the item wasn't available for use untill you found all parts.
OK Parts: There were points in the game where I got really stuck. At some points in the game there would be a slight freeze and things would be moving slow. I'm not sure if this is the computer or the game.
Bad Parts: I hated the puzzles. I skipped every one of them but one, and that was the easiest one. There was a lot of going back and forth which really annoyed me. One aspect of the game that I thought was stupid was that some items had only one use, and they were ridiculous uses; example 1: I got a revolver at some point in the game and its only use was to shoot open a door that was locked from the other side. example 2: It took me a while to find everything to make the tree-fighting potion, and the only thing that was used for was to take down two trees that were in the way of you getting to the next location.
Overall a wonderful game. I will recommend it to anyone. It's different and a great game for Sunday afternoons!
Let's get farming in this unique Hidden Object farming simulator hybrid! Harvest the perfect crop, sell it at the market and search the farm for treasures!
Good Parts: Different theme for once. Hint recharged fast. Hidden Object Scenes were a great challenge and were fun too. Included tasks that you could complete for extra money and 3 gems which you could find for extra money also. Great graphics throughout the game. Able to harvest crops and sell them in your store. The game uses your name in the story and you are able to name the dog.
OK Parts: Skip was available on the rare moment you encountered a puzzle, but it cost 10 gold to use. The storyline didn't really get interesting untill you were told about the Farmer of the year award.
Bad Parts: Kind of repetitive in a way. I did get bored quickly. It was HOS, Harvest Crops. a little bit of dialogue. This repeats for the entire game. No voice-overs Didn't really see the point in the quests.
Overall, an alright game that I was happy to play for the trial. I recommend you download the trial.
Explore the vastness of a ship lost in time, what mysteries will you uncover amidst its Mayan idols, menacing sea creatures, and exotic treasures? Find out in this exciting new Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game on the open seas!
Good Parts: Hint and skip recharged fast Loved the HOS. You were able to switch between the classic junkpile and Mahjong. HOS also contained interactive objects Strategy guide included. Great graphics. Very clear and modern. Achievements Great voice-overs and great storyline. I liked how many collectables were in this game; Artefacts, hummingbirds, pieces of the calender etc.
OK Parts: Puzzles. Most I had to skip, but I did like a few of them.
Bad Parts: Had to rely heavily on the hint. Sometimes it was really hard to figure out what to do. I got very bored very quickly. Quite a lot of going back and forth which really annoyed me. Repetitive sounds got on my nerves. Like the repetitive banging on the chest from the boy that was trapped in it. The ending of the demo was really, really werid. It wasn't the sort of thing that would make me wonder what happened next.
Played towards the end of the demo and I have to say it wasn't really appealing to me. I'd skip this one
ERS games have given us another great one! At first it was boring, then it transformed in to a work of art!
Good Parts: Amazing storyline; great intro and great voice-overs. Storyline takes a great twist and I loved the use of the heads in to the story. Excellent graphics as always. So relistic, clear and modern. Loved the puzzles. Only had to skip 1 or 2. Strategy guide included and it was very useful. I loved the use of the hologram cat. It was very useful for a lot of things. Puzzles were very different and unique.
OK Parts: I would've liked one HOS maybe. But it was all puzzles. A fair bit of going back and forth.
Bad Parts: Hint and skip took so long to recharge it wasn't funny. I could hardly use them so instead I used the strategy guide. It was really hard to figure out what to do most times. I found myself constantly referring to the Strategy Guide.
I was hooked on this game at the end. Definitely download the free trial and see what you make of it.
Good Parts: A different theme for once. Great graphics! HOS were very clear and everything else was clear. HOS were great too. They were a great challenge and very different. Someone wanted something from your home, and paid you to get it. You collect the money afterwards. I loved all the different types of hints. You get cash bonuses from the hints you have left. Your name was included in the story.
OK Parts: Story was kind of boring. Intro did nothing for me and Everything surrounding it was stupid.
Bad Parts: No voice-overs, except for the intro. No variation at all. It's just one HOS after another. Hints are not useful, they just showed you what the object was like. Upgrades cost a little too much. Would've liked a puzzle or two.
A very plain and boring game. Not one I will recommend despite the raving reviews.
Good Parts: It was just like being on masterchef with all the judging and pressure! Great level of challenge, you are trying to beat the time limit yet you still have so much fun! Great graphics, especially with the dish presentation! You had to use a particular theme for each dish, and there was something called a "classic combo" which got you extra points.
Ok parts: Only voice-over is saying "_______ left." Should have been a few more. A little more variety of the dishes would have been great.
Bad Parts: A little bit of a storyline would've been great. Game is very repetitive with absolutely no variation. WILL get boring after a while. Cutscenes in between episodes are just boring. I wish they had've been a little better.
I'm pretty sure the trial did me. You should download the free trial and see if you like it.
Artifex Mundi have done it again, and no, I haven't given all four ratings above a blind 5, it's because they all deserved it! (based on entire demo on casual mode)
Good Parts: Thrilling storyline. I loved every minute of it and was hanging on the edge of my seat. The brilliant cutscenes are just a bonus. Also included excellent voice-overs. I loved the HOS. They were brilliant. A great mixture of challenge and fun. Brilliant graphics, especially in cut scenes and the intro. Everything was so clear, and so greatly designed. I loved the puzzles, which is a rarity for me. I only had to skip two throughout the entire demo. Hint and skip recharge very, very fast, and hint was very useful. No need for a strategy guide. I loved the addition of the monkey to the game. He was able to retrieve things you weren't and he was just fun to have. Achievements are included, which make the game even more fun! I loved alternating between two worlds. Especially when you had to find something in one world to help you in the other. A great tutorial.
OK Parts: A little more use of the inventory would have been great. A little going back and forth, but I really didn't mind when you see the quality of the game.
Bad Parts: The one and only bad thing about this game would be the "Monaco" game that could be played instead of the HOS. I didn't understand this and I would've preferred if it had been Mahjong like the game Nightmares: Curse of the Deep.
This game proves why Artifex Mundi is one of the best developers out there. Don't hesitate to buy this. I certainly will be.
(based on 1hr free trial Wow. What an awesome game!
Good Parts: The concept of the game was so unique. I really, really liked the theme. Great graphics. So much great detail, very clear and modern. I LOVED the Hidden Object Scenes. They were different from you average HOS, and requires some extra thinking! Great storyline. I get the feeling all this is somehow linked with her missing father! Hint recharged fast and was very useful. Strategy guide was also useful. I liked the addition of the "Botanist's Kit." This was a unique feature to this game that I felt added extra fun to the game.
OK Parts: I liked some puzzles, but others were just too hard. With the speaking scenes, the character's expressions did not change based on what was happening.
Bad Parts: Skip took too long to recharge. There were some aspects of the game that were un-realistic. I would've expected the people from the world to have a different accent to the earth people, but it was the same. Also. the "new world" looked more like a forest.
Apart from those minor flaws. this is one cracker of a game. Everyone will enjoy this, don't hesitate to download the free trial!
I was excited to have a Sports themed HO game finally, but when I played it, it was just AWFUL!
Good Parts: I liked the majority of the puzzles, given their easiness. Hint recharged really fast!
OK Parts: I would've liked just a bit more of a challenge in the HOS. The graphics for cutscenes were blurry, pixelated and cheap. I didn't like them at all. but the HOS graphics were clear and modern.
Bad Parts: It's just one HOS after another, one puzzle after another and this goes on and on and on. A bit more of a storyline would've been nice, and there were no voice-overs. The game was just too easy. No variation in the game. No walking around/exploring in the game.
Overall, I'm just viewing this as another failed attempt to match Big City Adventure. It was just an utter bore and I will never recommend it to anybody.
Despite the other raving reviews, I really didn't find much to enjoy about this game.
Good Parts: Excellent graphics. They were very clear, modern and had excellent designs. Nothing was blurry, everything was clear. A good level of challenge. For this game, it was a mixture of easy and hard. Great upgrades.
OK Parts: Storyline was like a comic set-out. It was a good intro and provided background to the game, but I would've liked a little bit more and maybe some voice-overs.
Bad Parts: At first the game was fun, then it went to average, then tedious untill it was almost like a chore. Game was overwhelming at times, I seemed to have to go from one place to the other. Game is very repetitive I don't really see the point in a TM Collector's Edition. There was nothing really there to distinguish it from a SE.
A fairly plain, boring game and one I certainly won't be coming back to.
