This game is ok, it is fun to make long chains, but I did not think it was that challenging and there is no time limit to make it more challenging. Getting to the treasure is not that big of a deal. If we had to do something with the treasure in order to continue that would be another matter, but honestly I got so bored after a few levels. It is not awful but not great either.

This game is very very short. I finished the whole thing with 8 minutes to spare in the demo.
The game is a memory game where one turns over shells and finds like objects but there are obstacles such as a skull and cross bones that when uncovered and not matched with the other one will scramble your row of shells either vertically or horizontally.
There are also dynamites that when uncovered and not paired together will explode whichever object you paired it up with and all the others on the board, detracting from one's score. But who cares what the score is anyway--there is no real incentive here. It is a good game for little kids. It is good for memory and shape recognition. I personally am not someone who cares about "personal bests" with scores. There has to be something else to keep me engaged in a game. I prefer goals such as attaining 3 gold stars, or having a score good enough to build something.
This game would be ok for little kids and if you have a freebie. I don't recommend it otherwise unless you like to play over and over again the same game. Try it before you buy it.

This game is not for me. I enjoy spelling but don't like to have to constantly defend myself while searching for words. I also think this promotes just making the quickest words possible and I think defending takes away from the challenge of the words themselves. I would prefer to get a star rating for making longest words or words with harder letters rather than tapping powers while choosing letters to make words the fastest.

This is an interesting and very different game than what we generally are given these days. It is a quirky, non linear game that requires one to think but is nice in that one can play at ones own pace.
The premise is that your father, who is an inventor of time clocks or some kind of machines has been kidnapped. It takes place during the 20's in Paris. The graphics are 20's era stylized stills. In order to find your father you must go to different places in Paris and talk to citizens who then give you a puzzle to solve. The puzzles are not all that difficult, though some make you think. You must collect gears to the machine and if you answer a puzzle correctly you collect a certain number of gears. There are places where you can get film strips that enable you to try puzzles again if you get the wrong answer. The most difficult part so far in this game is actually "catching" these film strips as they appear quickly in a scene and if you don't click on them to grab them soon enough they disappear.
All in all a nice game, quirky, but interesting and enjoyable.

This M3 game revolves around the story of saving fairies from their polluted environment as they are stuck due to an evil magician who has polluted the air. There is a choice of swap, chain or group M3 in this game. There appear to be at least 10 "lands" to save with 10 levels within each land. In between each land you have to rearrange the picture of that land to truly release all the fairies. The M3 board does not seem to change much, there are a few variations but so far none challenging. We are given the opportunity to win "power ups" in the form of pearls that we must drop to the bottom of the board in order to use. They do the normal power up thing: blow up, switch, take out one color etc. in addition, if you match 5 or more gems you get a bomb that will blow up an area. I did not ever need to use any of the power ups. As an adult, I can't really recommend this game, unless you are bored to tears or just want to mindlessly decompress. This is a good M3 for kids. For those who do not like timed games--rejoice--for there is no timer (that I could see) that stops your game. There is a timer only for getting better "scores". If you have young ones at home I think they would llke this game.

This is a nice little nonogram game which does not penalize you time wise. In other games, in order to get 3 stars, one has to get a specific "expert" time. Here we are timed, but it is more to see how long it took you and to challenge your best time. In order to get three stars one has to not make any mistakes. If one makes 3 mistakes, one must start over to complete the level. We are given hints, that when clicked on will show a correct tile. We gather coins that we can buy more hints with in the store, or can buy 2 starting hints. The system for choosing tiles is right or left mouse clicks (left correct, right incorrect). The problem came a couple times when I was sure I clicked one side of the mouse but it registered incorrectly, so be careful with your mouse. I don't know if there is a different option for choosing such as using a key on a key board. One nice feature is that one can drag and click to select several tiles at once. The level of the nonograms quickly became not so easy unlike other games where they went from 5 to 10 squares these went nearly straight to 15 squares. There does seem to be a shape with some symmetry to the nonogram so that one can make some inferences. If you like nonograms I think you will like this one. The music is ok, but I tend to be able to tune it out. The English grammar leaves something to be desired, though. Happy solving!
High Creep Factor--and so far no cute animal helpers-YAY!

You and your sister have been traveling through a dark forest path when the carriage is waylaid by a black cat and a creepy dude that reminds me of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. Said creepy dude kidnaps your sister and you are off to rescue her. The legend goes that other girls of your sister's age have been abducted as well.
The Story is gripping and makes me want to keep playing!
Artwork/Music: both good, Blue Tea drawings that are elaborate and create a mysterious atmosphere to the game.
Gameplay: So far only a few hidden object scenes that are of the Frog variety which I initially never liked, but have gotten used to them and provide a different level of challenge.
Puzzles: so far not difficult and are a swap variety, or laser/mirror variety.
There are cursed/morphing objects to collect. Achievements are almost all story based.
Difficulty: 3 options that can be changed during the game. Unfortunately there is no custom option which I think all games these days should have and really the only beef I have with this developer is that their black bar tips tell you way too much info and make the game much less challenging even in the level of highest difficulty.
Strategy Guide is helpful. I played with no hints or skips and map does not work in that difficulty level so can't remark on those, but I never use a map anyway.
There is a bonus chapter, but I have only played the demo. One can replay games, video clips, there is wallpaper (never use it).
So far an interesting game that wants to make me keep playing to the end to find out what happens, but I have a feeling I can divine the end.

I enjoyed this game, and unlike one reviewer I did not find it too easy, as I played with the custom settings (more on that later). Unfortunately we are given another cute animal helper--but this one is actually quite useful and not obnoxious.
Story: You are a peasant who finds Vesna, the Spring Goddess in your mirror imploring you to rescue her as she has been kidnapped by Morana the Goddess of Winter so that the seasons can't change and it is eternal winter. Along the way you meet villagers and animals suffering from the long winter and you help them as well to advance the story line, though not all animals are what they seem.
Gameplay: There are choices for modes of difficulty and happily there is a wonderful custom mode that allows for really getting rid of black bar tips and you are on your own, no sparkles (yay) no pointers to what is of interest (yay). The strategy guide is helpful and I tried the hint to see how well it works and it is helpful. In this custom mode, it was not always easy to see what was needed and I did miss a few needed objects.
There is a map and a journal for notes, none of which I ever use.
There are no morphing objects but the collectibles are money to buy your pet ermine (mine is named Percival) some accoutrements. (He looks quite dashing now).
You are given a magic brush to brush away frozen objects which I frankly don't love. but hey, we can't get it all.
HOS: really pretty easy and not junk piled too much, some interaction and one can play a fairly lame M3 instead if one so desires.
There are achievements such as finish HOS under one minute etc.
Artwork is sumptuous and the music is unobtrusive and pleasant.
All in all so far a nice game, the story is interesting and makes me want to play longer and the artwork is very nice so I will buy this game. Not sure if it is worth the CE though there are extras such as being able to play mini games again. I do like the SG so I will buy the CE.

This is a simple find a certain number of one object in a picture game. The "charms" one is looking for vary from clovers, to moons to horseshoes etc. They are placed on a backdrop of nice pictures from Ireland that are marred unfortunately by the addition of bizarre superimposed computer generated bugs, dragons etc. There are "achievements" which are nothing really, and the game is very simple and the objects very easy to find. The gameplay is interspersed with having to put together jigsaw puzzles which are honestly more interesting than the "hidden" object part. Another more interesting aspect is having to find part of the back ground picture. This game went way too fast and it is unclear if I finished the whole game in the demo or if they only let me get to stage 5, but i apparently won all the achievements. I think this game is good for young children or those who are totally bored. I would not pay full price for it and I think I will skip this as I think I actually finished it during the demo.

This is based on the demo and admittedly I did not get too far, which is a good thing. There is definitely much going on in this game, enough to keep one busy for a while.
Story: A man in a tractor crashes into a hillside and unleashes an evil wizard, Cornelius into our world. Cornelius has already ruined another world and is bent on ruining ours as well. You are a Scotland Yard detective who also crashes and is propelled into the other world and must save both worlds.
Artwork: drawn artwork with lush colors busy landscapes, a little blurry. The music is nice and unobtrusive.
Game play: 3 modes of difficulty: casual, advanced and hardcore; with a nice touch of advanced not having any black bar help which is excellent as in many games there is way too much handholding even in advanced or hardcore mode telling what is needed to be done. Here, you are on your own in advanced!
Games are mostly not challenging so far and are well known. There are also animal/creature helpers which are becoming a trend these days and I find to be a little too cutesy for my taste, and I am an animal lover. HOS are really kind of junk piled and it took a while to find some objects.
Achievements/Collectibles:
There are tiny little bells to collect and they are hard to find! I think that is why I spent so much time on the demo--LOL. There is a bestiary, which describes all the animals one finds along the way, there are achievements (pretty standard such as finish one HOS in less than a minute, do it with no hints etc). there are repayable mini games, a bonus chapter, an interactive map and a journal neither of which I use. There is an SG which is quite helpful and I don't use hints, so I can't speak to them.
All in all it is a nice game, it really has not gripped me in a way that the others recently have, but I do like the challenge of finding those little bells and the mini games are lots of fun. The story does have some interest and I recommend you play the demo before you buy to see if you can stand the kitsch. I will at the sale price today!
