don't buy this game. I'm mostly playing it with the sound off because of the constantly repeated piano riff. I'm not enjoying the game all that much either. It's not intuitive and I've been into the strategy guide more than I have since I first started playing HOPs years ago. The graphics are muddy and some of the things you have to find are so small they're almost invisible. Not a fun game IMNSHO.

I don't often write reviews, but after all the negatives I read on this one, I felt compelled.
This is not a typical game. I really had to use my head - and the hint button - with this one. It was really good and interesting to be so challenged by a game. I will admit, I did skip a couple of the games, but I was able to defeat most of them.
The art. Beautiful! Spooky! Gorgeous in a not-pretty way. It reminded me quite a bit of the art in a comic book of the 80s I used to read (Sandman).
The language: Ok, ok. There were grammatical and spelling errors. Since there were no voice overs, I simply allowed the voice in my head (what, you don't hear voices when you're reading something?) to have an eastern European accent and be struggling with English! It did not diminish my enjoyment of the game at all, and I am frequently accused of being part of the Grammar Police.
While I am recommending this game, I'm doing it with a slight reservation: be ready to be challenged on many levels. This is not a typical BF HO game. If you've got an open mind and want to try something different, go for it.
Overall, I enjoyed this game very much and will definitely try another from this developer. Different is good!
This game was great! Loved the graphics, the story line, the puzzles. I missed some of the collection items, not realizing they were available, but that's part of the fun for me, being teased by the developers.
There are some negative reviews saying the setting "isn't Boston" (definitely not) and that you have to do "too much running around while trying to save the life of someone in a dire situation (um, yes...). Suspend your disbelief. Enjoy the game. It IS a game, fer cryin' out loud. Were we giving the actual amount of time it would have taken those folks to die to find the solution, I'm betting most of us wouldn't have even gotten out the front door!
Thanks, developers, and thanks, Big Fish. There have been some really terrific games in the past few weeks! Keep up the great work!
As I just told my husband, I'm glad I got this one for free. It is difficult to figure out what you're supposed to do in the different scenes. I've become so frustrated after a couple hours play that I'm dumping it in the trash.
The colors are lovely, the drawings like a beautiful story book, the music is good. But it just isn't any fun to play. Buh-bye, game!
This game (CE) was one of the best I've ever played! The extras are terrific, too, and one hopes that more of these games will be available in the future.
The music was excellent, the graphics wonderful, the storyline fun. I was able to play almost all of the mini-games (which probably means they'd be very simple to some players). The HOPs were fun and exhibited some very creative hiding techniques.
I was really pleased that, after I completed the main game, I was able to go back and find the roses I'd missed (only about 7) and find the collectibles. I wasn't even aware while playing that the collectibles were there...duh. I found very few of the morphing objects in the HOPs; I get too caught up in trying to finish the HOP without hints and in a short time.
All in all, this is an excellent game that I'm really glad I bought as a CE (the extras are terrific!). It truly deserves the 5 star rating it has!
I truly enjoyed playing this one. The storyline is interesting, the games are fun, and the graphics are excellent. I hope there will be more along this line.
I did not like this game. As others have said, found objects take too long to go to inventory; it was a pain having the inventory at the top of the screen...BI-FOCALS, developers. Not every gamer is under 30.
I skipped a lot of the mini-games. They weren't all that difficult, just frustrating. I hate to play long mini-games just to get a fabric bone.
It was as though this game was developed by a totally different group of people than the first ones. Weak story line, repetitive music that sounded like other games...it just wasn't my cup of tea.
I just finished playing Final Cut: Encore Collector's Edition. I have to say, I really enjoyed it. I loved the back and forth between the reality and the projected scenes. I was able to solve most of the puzzles (which I am not usually able to do - maybe my brain was just on a roll today!), and enjoyed the HO scenes. I understand the logic behind the match 3 option, but I never use it.
I especially enjoyed the peek at the Eipix workplace. How can you not be happy in an office where pets are allowed!?
This game frustrated me at first, to the point that I wasn't going to finish it. Once I got into the rhythm of the game, it became lots of fun. You have to get the gist of traveling "between worlds" to solve the problems you encounter.
I'm *very* glad I didn't give up on this and am looking forward to others of this title!
