Rescue a young girl from the Penumbra Motel. Solve puzzles, unravel a long standing mystery of death and disappearances in this heart-pounding adventure game!
Normally, I enjoy ERS games. Normally, I enjoy games that have lots of five star ratings. Not this one. What a waste of time and money! I noticed this game was among the $2.99 ones today. It should be even less than that....like maybe ERS should pay US to play it?
There is no rhyme or reason to the game at all, no flow, nothing that leads you logically from one task to the next. Talk about a "smear the cat with mustard game": why on earth would anyone use a scout badge to open a brief case??
The puzzles themselves were either so easy my 6 YO grandson could do them or so difficult as to be unsolvable.
And the story line? Who was that guy at the end? Where did his building an eternal life machine enter the story? I thought it was about murders and a WWII war hero. I missed something entirely.
I love adventure games, but this one gets two big thumbs down from this granny. It was NOT a fun game at all. ERS you can do so much better.
I truly wish I had played the trial before buying this game. It simply isn't my cup of tea. The "hidden objects" aren't all that hidden, the puzzles are so simple as to be childish. I purchased it based on the reviews and I'm sorry I did. Don't get me wrong, the graphics are beautiful, but the music is so repetitive I turned it off, the story line is juvenile, and the game is just too easy to be challenging. I think it would be perfect for pre-teen girls, but above that... eh. I wasted my money on this one!
This was one of my favorite games so far. The graphics, music, story, and puzzles were all far superior to some of the other games I've tried. I really enjoyed this one (despite the "operatic" interludes) on all levels. I will definitely be checking out other Play Pond games to see if they are of the same caliber, as well as other Penny Dreadfuls. Great fun, well done!
