This game fell flat, for me! I usually love this Devs games, and I see some Artifex Mundi sprinkled in there (although technically released under Cordelia games...A.M. is also involved according to search engines...bought out?), just too much back and forth, without much challenge in minigames, and boring HOS.
Play demo and decide for yourself!
Explore kingdom ruins and meet the exiled Salt Princess.

It certainly could not have been made recently. It really took me back to my original BF days (2012), unfortunately, not in a good way!
What good is a map if you can't jump scenes? Plus, it was wrong on several occasions...it would say I had an "objective" in a location...I would travel through several scenes to get to the "objective," only to find nothing to do. When I would finally give up looking, and hit the Hint button, it would direct me to another scene....very frustrating! I finally quit using the map, altogether....just relied on Hint button to prevent wasted trips.
MO were not as good as in previous installments....easy to spot, etc.
Many of the item I was looking to place were like-shaped...MANY like shapes...way to confusing, IMHO.
Nothing about this game is a purchase for me.
As always, try the demo for yourself.

After reading all the rave reviews, I expected much more from this game. The toolkit was very annoying by about halfway through the game. I'm tempted to use its hatchet on my keyboard before I have to cut yet another vine!! Opening a toolkit and using one of the four tools in it, repeatedly, is not my idea of "gaming." There are a few fun puzzles, and some clever HOS, but they are too few/far between.
I used some credits on this game that I have been collecting since last year....just no good games, IMHO. I didn't even finish the game, much less the bonus game...too tedious. Wish I hadn't purchased it, after all. Madhead has missed the mark here.

This game was pretty fun...not the best I've played, but better than most games being released these days! The HOS had layers of puzzles in them, which gave them a unique, fun quality. I didn't give the game 5 stars because so much of the regular game play has been "done to death."
The graphics were improved for this Dev...very nice.
I did not find this game to be CE worthy, but the SE might be a purchase, for me.

At last, a game worth playing!! As several others have done a great job reviewing all the details, I will just simply say this is the best game that has come out in awhile! Where there isn't anything necessarily "new" about any of it (I have only played the demo, so far), it does have the "fun factor" I have found lacking in most games these past 18, or so, months. I am pleased to say this will be a purchase, for me!

"Editor's choice?? Who are these people? Have they just started gaming in the last 18 mos, or so....when the BF standards seem to have fallen...IMHO?
As I have mentioned several times, this was once my favorite Dev, hands down...but no longer, as of late. The graphics, while still better than most Devs, are washed out in this game...and even feel cartoon-ish, at times.
The HOS are bland. I was actually stunned by the elementary level of the story line HOS, where you look for the capitalized words...really? Curtains?? Arrows?? You mean find the items right in front of us in plain sight??
The puzzles either very easy, or repeats from other games (i.e.colored-marble puzzle).
This game is simply not fun!
As my credits build, I continue to wonder how many I will accrue before giving up completely and cancelling my membership...I don't even remember the last game I purchased!

This is usually a great Dev...my only guess is that they started this game years ago (2010, or earlier?), and just now decided to deliver. Bad move, IMHO.
Terrible graphics, music, voice overs, and even bad HOS...nice try, but very hard to even tell what the item is I was looking for from the list....blurry and colorless. And someone mentioned the annoying ogre in their review....ditto! I rarely give ones...but this was a no-brainer....

After seeing all the low reviews, I thought "No way! This is a Madhead game!" Well....WAY!! The artwork destroys this game!! It is some of the worst I have seen by such a wonderful game developer....normally. I couldn't even enjoy the MOs due to all the blurriness.
I don't recommend this game.
The contract must be fulfilled, but your girlfriend will pay the price!

Madhead is one of my top two favorite Devs....I expect a lot from them, because I know from past experience that they can deliver....but this is a dud, by their standards.
So let me get this straight...I am supposed to climb on a burning roof and poor 1 bucket of water down the chimney? And this will solve the problem?? I think this says it all!
Others do a much better job of giving all the puzzle and gaming details, so I will skip that.
I will wait for the SE and use a free coupon. It will certainly be worth that price.

What do these two things have in common? Apparently, just an HOPA. That being said...
I am baffled by all the five-star ratings....it is just an average game, to me! I didn't even finish the demo. In today's tech world, the graphics in this game are definitely sub-par. The HOS were just average. The puzzles were just average. It is an "added feature" to be able to choose between hard and easy, I suppose...but still no wow factor in them.
It does have a Christmas theme....as long as you can get past the fact that it is Christmas in Oz. Had the game been better, I would have been willing to make that leap, but this snow-covered yellow brick road was a dead end, for me!
(Oh...and I left out any mention of the pesky, noisy dog "helper"....very annoying...and I am a dog lover!)
