Glad I found this great game. I love adventure but not hidden object. This game had a great story, good environment and fun puzzles. You felt like you were walking around Whitechapel and investigating.
The only drawbacks 1) a few of the puzzles had some strange controls. One that stands out was where you had to select clues to add to a timeline but I couldn't figure out the mechanics. I did a quick online search and found my problem. The second was that a couple of the puzzles seemed a bit obscure when trying to solve them (the mannequin puzzles comes to mind).
But they didn't detract from the game at all. Great adventure! Very enjoyable and many hours of game play.
You're on a train in the middle of nowhere, and a band of dangerous thieves demand you tell them where to find the Hope Diamond's shards. As the newest Hidden Expedition recruit, you've got to find the shards before they do...X
This wasn't too impressive. I felt it could have had a good story line but it didn't. Nothing compelling. Running around, looking for objects. No real feel for the mystery behind the Hope Diamond or the Smithsonian. I enjoyed Amazon and Everest. This was not up to those standards. Meh.
I really enjoyed opening the safes and hunting for clues. I was put off by this game previously as I didn't know there was story attached. I assumed it was just opening various safes and vaults without benefit of a backstory or environment. I am glad I bought it. Some of the safes were a bit difficult as the clues were vague but for the most you could figure them out or use brute force based on the clues. Worth buying. Wish they had Safecracker 2 on here.
I usually love these kind of adventures but this one became tedious. I have yet to finish because I feel some of the actions to progress are not logical. I have resorted to clicking anything on anything to hopefully cause some effect. I like dialogue, I like inventory-based puzzles, I like logic puzzles, but this one made me weary. So now I am still in the house in the swamp and just can't figure out what to do and I know I am so close to the end...but I just don't care.
While I enjoyed the "episode" I can't believe this is not bundled with the other AGON games. I completed it in about an hour. I can't believe they would charge the regular price for this as compared to other games that have many playable hours. I was about to quit for the day and then realized the game was over. With this being so short, I am not inclined to play the other 2. I am glad I used my free credit for this one.
I played this game based on recommendations from people for more adventure less HOG type games. I enjoyed it and the puzzles were pretty good. All in all it's worth playing but the ending seemed to be so sudden. I was suddenly finished when I thought there was more to come. If you are looking for non-HOGs this one will entertain you but isn't best in class.

Liked this game. I needed an old fashioned point and click adventure. A vampire killer hunting for Dracula to save Mina. Shades of Stoker.
The graphics were good, story was good. Dialogue was OK. The voice over of the main character sometimes made me laugh but it didn't really detract from the game play.
Some of the puzzles were....puzzling! I admit I had to use the walkthrough on a few because I had no idea what was expected. But most puzzles were understandable and solvable.
All in all I gave it a 4. For old adventure gamers, this one is worth the play.

Enjoyed the inventory based point and click game. Smart dialogue that sometimes was a bit long but you could read and click thru. Enjoyed the part where Petra was able to use spells to progress. Storyline was cute but then again I am a big Wizard of Oz fan.
If you like Hidden Object Games, I would think this game is not for you. If you like games from days gone by, then play it!
Nothing really spectacular about this and it could have been good with an Edgar Allen Poe theme.
I rambled around quite a bit not sure of what to do next. I tired of making snacks for people. I got tired of the text messages (thank goodness I am not a teen-aged girl), and the setting was claustrophobic. My goodness, one scene is a big library but they confine you to about 4 interactive areas and ignore all the ladders and second level. I am a book person so just roaming thru the library to find a clue or two would have been great.
Just OK. But not a strong addition to the ND game library.
I really liked this game. Maybe because I love archaeology and Egypt. The scenes were interesting of the tombs. I didn't feel claustrophobic being able to move between the tomb, its various rooms, the crew tent and the work tent.
I enjoyed the various hieroglyph puzzles. The addition of a camera really helps as you can take pictures and refer to them during several puzzles.
Great game and I highly recommend it if you liked the early Nancy Drew games that seemed richer in mystery and atmosphere.
