This was a fun game. You get to travel through time, save Merlin, Viviana and their daughter. The graphics are nice, the voice overs are good (although the characters lips are not in sync with the voice overs), the music is appropriate to the setting. The iHOS are fun and the mini games are okay. Most of the mini games are very easy. You acquire a "time machine" early in the game and use it to move to different times (the past, present and future).
There is a diary (which I never opened) and a built in SG (which I never used). This game is fairly straightforward and not that difficult. I enjoyed the story and the main game had a satisfying ending.
The bonus chapter was okay. It didn't really seem to add much to the story and didn't take very long to complete. Once you complete the bonus chapter, the other extras are unlocked. The other extras consist of the iHOS scenes which you can replay, a character and location "encyclopedia" (which was interesting) and wall papers.
This is a good game to play if you are looking for something that is fun but doesn't take too much thought. I would recommend this game.
This game is wonderful and so much fun to play! You are trying to save a young girl from a horrible fate. There are ghost kings, dragons, the four horsemen, an abandoned town, a prisoner to save....everything you could want in a game.
The graphics are gorgeous, the music is great, the voice overs and cut scenes are excellent. There are collectibles and achievements. The collectibles fill in the back story, which is really fun. The iHOS are fun to play and the mini games are interesting. The interactive map is very helpful and allows you to move around quickly. There is a built in SG which comes in handy several times.
The story is interesting and keeps you engaged throughout game play. The ending of the main game is quite exciting. The bonus chapter is definitely worth the price of the CE.
This game was so much fun to play! Your niece and her boyfriend are on a picnic in the forest and her boyfriend is taken by a large bear. Your niece implores you for help and you rush to the the town she lives in. The train derails as you arrive and there are menacing birds and no townspeople. It is quite an adventure.
The cut scenes and voice overs are well done. As you move through the game, the cut scenes give you the back story. You have an interactive map and a diary. The diary gives you information about the characters and access to re-watch the cut scenes. There is a built-in SG, but you won't need it.
The iHOS are really well done. They are a mixture of "find the object on the list" and "find the item to use next." I really enjoyed them! The mini-games are fun, but not difficult. There are plenty of objects to collect as you go along. The graphics are beautiful and the music is nice and appropriate to the story.
The CE also has squirrels, puzzle pieces and statues to collect, which was fun. There are achievements to earn as you play.
The main story had a satisfying ending. The bonus chapter is a nice add-on that extended the main story, but isn't necessary to the main story.
This game is awesome! The general is back and up to no good. You have to stop him and rescue those in his snare. The graphics are excellent, the cut scenes are well done, the voice overs are great, the iHOS are good (not too hard though), the mini games are fun (most are easy) and the music is acceptable. It would have been nice if some of the iHOS and mini games were a bit harder.
There is an interactive map that comes in handy to quickly move between locations. The built in SG comes in handy every now and then. There are tapes to find and play which add to the back story of the game. There is a journal with objectives and other items of interest.
There are achievements to earn as you play and multiple items to gather throughout the game (filmstrips, clovers and morphing objects). The main game had a satisfying ending, the bonus chapter was a nice addition that added to the story. There was also a "secret" chapter from the developer that was a hoot. You can also replay the iHOS and mini games in the Extras area. Be sure to read the credits after the main game, they are hilarious!
I really enjoyed this game and highly recommend it. I look forward to the next one!
This is the third installment in the series and it is excellent. You play the detective and this time you go to Paris to help Veronica. She's now grown up and engaged, but something is wrong. The graphics are excellent, the iHOS are fun, the music is good, the voice overs are well done and the mini games were fun.
There are numerous locations to visit. There isn't a map with the game, but you don't really need one. There is a journal, but I never used it. The SG comes in handy every now and then.
The bonus chapter was good and completed the story. The ending of the main story left you wanting more. I really enjoyed this game and look forward to the next installment in the series.
This is the second game in this series and it is a fun one. You play as the detective again and you are tasked with saving a little girl from her fate. As you go through the game you learn more about her family. The graphics are good, the HOS are fun (some things are really hard to find!), the mini games were fun (although some were difficult) and the ending was satisfying. There isn't a map, but you don't really need one. There are several locations, but you don't have to go back and forth very often.
The music became annoying after a while and I muted it. The voice overs were well done. There is a journal, but I didn't refer to it much.
I have the third installment in this series and look forward to playing it. I recommend this game.
I enjoyed this game. You play as a detective who is enlisted to assist the local Prefect in finding out who is killing the local townspeople. Game play is a bit slow with only one or two items found in most locations. The HOS are good and some of the items are difficult to find. The mini games are enjoyable and not overly difficult. The voice overs are well done and the music is nice and not over powering. There isn't a map, but you don't really need one since there are only a few locations. The diary is helpful.
Overall I enjoyed this game and look forward to playing the sequel.
This game is excellent! You (the Agency) are back on the hunt and go to a sanitarium in the Alps where they are doing mind-bending things to people. You have to escape being trapped in your own mind, then you have to help several others who are trapped and defeat the bad guys. The story for this game is absolutely wonderful and keeps you engaged throughout the entire game.
The graphics, cut scenes and voice overs are excellent. The iHOS are really interesting and varied. The mini games are fun, some more challenging than others. There is a built in SG which comes in handy for some of the mini games. The interactive map is really useful and allows you to jump between locations. There are collectibles and achievements. The bonus chapter was a bit confusing, but the tasks/iHOS/mini games were fun. There are the usual CE extras of concept art, etc. There is one bug in the game where you get stuck on a mini game, but you can exit and restart the game to resolve the issue (at least it worked for me).
I really enjoy this series and this game is absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend it.
It should have been a tremendous achievement, but the tunnel through the Ridge of Leviathan became the site of a great disaster. What really happened that day?
This is an excellent game and my favorite of the Surface family. You play as a young mother, late to meet her family for a train trip, when the train (and her family) disappear. You spend the rest of the game solving the mysteries of the Pantheon and trying to locate/rescue your family.
The graphics are amazing, the cut scenes are excellent, the music is good and the voice overs are well done. The iHOS are fun to play and the mini games are really good and make you think. The built-in SG is helpful when you need it. There is a diary and map that are informative. The story moves along nicely and you visit multiple locations.
The CE has many extras including items to collect to earn points. As you earn points, the Pantheon areas open and you gain additional information about the story. The bonus chapter is interesting and completes the story. You also get the usual wallpapers, screensaver and concept art.
I really enjoyed this game and highly recommend it!
Overall I enjoyed this game although it is very easy to play and was somewhat short. The guardian clock that keeps time in sync has broken and the gears have scattered. You play as the sole remaining guardian and have to locate the gears and restore the clock. Timelines are converging as the story moves along.
The graphics are good, but overall dark. The cut scenes were okay, but somewhat choppy. There are lots of iHOS and mini games. The iHOS were good, but a lot of the mini games were repetitive. The music was so-so, but I usually don't like music in games. The voice overs were well done. There is a journal which is useful. You don't have a map, but you don't need one. The game is very linear and you don't go back to areas once you clear them.
The game would be really good for beginners. There aren't many challenges and game play is straight forward. I would recommend this game; however, if you're not a beginner, select this game when you want a break from some of the harder, more involved games.
