I have a half dozen Art by the Numbers, and I like them much better. I only got this one because I wanted the stain glass window effects. Out of 62-64 pictures, only 15 have the stain glass window effect. And, after 40% off I guess that's an ok price to pay. Same as other puzzles of this type, you have to finish the first lever before you can get to the other pictures. But, after you finish the first level all other levels are open to you. So, you can choose which pictures you want to finish. I finished the 15 that I wanted.
Problems with this series are: 1,) Screen can not be resized. This makes copying the picture a matter of piece meal. Expand the screen and do 1 section at a time to construct the whole picture. 2.) The minute you press the ? for your next piece to color, the screen shrinks to the small (tiny) size; and, arrows point to the place(s) where you need to color. But, to color them you need to enlarge the screen to see the tiny places that need color. 3.) This game doesn't give you your finished time, below each picture you finish. 4,) Game is easy enough, but it took a while to get used to the mythology. When I was finishing the last picture on the first level, I though that I'd made a terrible mistake by buying this game. However, getting through the 15 pictures I wanted, (quickly); it got easier and simpler to understand. 5.) I found several glitches in this game. Tiny areas at the edges of the picture, when clicking on them, the game would "time out" and had to be restarted. At one point the game just turned off on it's own, and had to be restarted. So, make sure you click on the darkened spot and not outside the area, which will time you "out"..
Good things about this game: 1) It's easy to do and relaxing. 2) Child friendly. 3) Once you complete lever 1, all the other pictures are open. 4) Colors are beautiful. 5) It had a nice collection for me to copy and color, of stain glass window designs. I copy onto canvas and use acrylic paints and or oils.
I recommend this game as long as you understand the pro's and con's.

As a part time artist and crafter, I've been looking for a art game that would inspire some new art ideas. I found it. The real thing that has me adducted is the COLORS. You've heard in real estate that it's location, location, location. Well, in art it's color, color, color. This game has plenty of color. It combines so many colors that I'd never thought of. At first I thought oh, "no". Then the picture progressed and BAM, it was gorgeous! Before you finish the last number on your list, enlarge and shrink the size in each section you've completed. Use the zoom in and zoom out feature. It's amazing. The blends of color are dynamic, and the hues are gorgeous. Each section is a photo opportunity in it's own right.
Yes you have to complete each section before you go to the next. But, who cares? Each picture is a work of art. I can't tell you about the sound options. I keep my sound turned off so I can listen to relaxing music (spa music) while I work. Using the "?" option will take you to the next section to put in color. Using the toggle option (zoom) will make the section larger or smaller. You can adjust the darkness or brightness of the back ground with another toggle lever.
I personally work the photo by numbers 1-?. But, you can work each section of the picture by choosing the number of paint for that section only. I bought this game just a few days ago, and I'm already through picture 60. I think I'll go back and complete all the pictures by completing the sections one at a time, instead of starting with #1 and going up.
Who ever created this game is a color genius, and I'm hooked!. I can't quit playing!
On level one: you are supposed to click on the man to grab some fruit by one of the monkeys. (Like marble pop). OK, you travel alone clicking monkeys to grab the fruit from the trees. Once the bell enters the picture, you are at the end and can go no farther. Problem is that you need 34 or 35 fruits and I could only collect 22. So, I tried again. Collected 22. And, again, collected 22. So, I thought I'd try the girl character. Maybe the girl would be better with the monkeys than the guy. Nope, collected 22 because there are only 22 fruits to be collected. Level Two: Who knows????
Ok, I got past the balloon level to the surf board level and beyond. As I went to the next level and loaded I decided that I'd rather return to the main menu and quit. Where, how, I was trapped in the game and I wanted out. Now, I've been playing for at least 50-55 min. on my free trial. How in the blank do I get out of here??? The only way out was to let the timer and let the trial run out. Good, at least it stopped. Rest of the game was ok. The color was great, but the sound was annoying. So, even though the game was pretty good, I just didn't buy it. It's not like putting a "main menu" button in the game play is hard. And, it's not like I'm exactly new to game playing. I have over 50 BF games.
Zen mode is great. lots of options for tile sets; tile formats and background pictures. The large selection of choices makes this anything but boring. Also, you can make your own tile format layout and name it. And, you can import your own background picture. I can not critique the sound as I play while watching T.V.
The Adventure mode is very poor. You can not choose tile set; background or layout. Absolutely no story line. But, the worst thing is that you get sick of using the "shuffle" button, over and over and over again. Leave some tiles that do match when you continue to reshuffle, as tiles you really need continue to stay at the bottom of the stack. Very frustrating.
Half this game is very good. The other half is very poor. I don't use it. That's why the 3 star rating. But, I'm pleased with what I have. The Zen mode is well worth the price of the game. Very pretty images, and lots of of options.
If you're expecting a lot of bells and whistles, you'll be disappointed. Simple music, no choice of selection. Basic Jigsaw with choice of number of pieces. Finished Jigsaw only appears for a few seconds. You get a little score and note the time in which you finished, but who cares? You are paying for a choice of several hundred photos then select the number of pieces you want to assemble.
However, that is just what I wanted. I have several Jigsaws and these photos are just wonderful. A nice change of pace. And, I like less than 100 pieces, because I have a problem with vision and getting all the pieces on a board. For those of you that want hundreds of pieces, you'll have to start stacking and I don't like all that work. I usually choose less than 60 pieces.
I only wanted a bigger (new) photo selection, (getting bored with the same old stuff). And, this gave me just that. Also, the photos are extremely gorgeous! I'm satisfied I spend a few minutes each day on a beautiful island, with a white sandy beach and gorgeous flowers. (Also, because it's not exactly "top drawer", I'm glad I got it on sale).
Cons: Finished Jigsaw doesn't last long on the screen No music selection. What you hear is what you get. Can not save your Jigsaw as a screen saver.
Ok, so it's for children; and it's real easy; and it has old graphics, ok... I get it. But, sometimes you just want to chill and relax with a fun game. And this is it! I tried the 50 min. trial then bought it. This is a game that you can play for hours & hours, just to relax.
Basically, you start a level and then buy little images like fish or butterfly's and you can buy up to 3 of each. Then those little images go into the game play and you get extra points for finding them. In the game play you spin a wheel for a place to visit. You either find things that are different or find things that are the same, in the scene. You build up money to buy things as you go through each level. As you build up money or points you get more things to buy, and find.
You will get a jigsaw in each level (or two) to complete, as well. You also get a chance to put Mark and Mandi into the scene in each level, and they can be part of your "garden".
The games go fast and easy, it's fun to spin the wheel and see which scene you'll get next. Will it be a dinner out? Or, Mandi's closet? Go from level to level with different scenes and build up your secret items to spot (in the find it games) and build up your scores to buy more items.
It's mostly a spot the same (or different) things in some games; or, jigsaw puzzles; or, memorize the pictures on the cards and then match them, in a memory game.
Like I said, it's fast, fun, a no-brainier ... AND I LOVE IT!
I like jigsaw puzzles and I waited to find just the right one. Some features that this game has:
You are able to import your own photos You are able to hang the puzzle in a 3D gallery You are able to add music to your puzzle You are able to choose the number of pieces for your puzzle You are able to choose the shapes of your pieces
This game has everything. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the gallery has no instruction that I could easily find. Right click to walk around the gallery. Then right click to stop at the frame you want. Select the image and drag to frame. It took a while for me to figure this out. Also, the walk through the gallery is not for those with visual equilibrium problems. It can make you dizzy.
This is a nice little basic game with no bells or whistles. For me it's kinda like a cross between a Sudoku and a match 3. Here you get to select from different items in different colors to fill in the squares. Generally there are 4 objects in 4 different colors. You can fill the squares with either one of the 4 colors, or 1 of the 4 like objects; across or up and down. Once you have filled that row or column it changes to a coin. When all the squares are filled with coins then the game moves on to another board to be filled.
It's a fast paced little game. The graphics are only nice sketches, done in an oriental theme. The music is relaxing, again in a zen-like oriental theme. All and all it's pretty fun, different, and interesting.
I played 16 levels in the one hour demo. I can't find anything really wrong with this game, except...that's all there is. It would be easy to get bored with this game rather quickly. It took a little time to get into the "game-play"; but, once I got into the grove it was pretty fun.
Not really a buy for me. But, my compliments to BF for offering something truly different and interesting. It really reminds me of the basic computer games I used to play in the 90's. I can easily see how some people could get lost in this game and play it for hour after hour. You should try it and see if it's a good fit for you.
Well, I gave it a try. Like the other negative reviews, I don't know what the fuss is about. It is a "sliding" puzzle. Problem I found was on level 2 I got stuck and it got very frustrating. Only one room will move. It goes one way-left. Then you can climb up and you are in another room, but it won't move. You transport to the bottom right and then it won't move. I went left, up, down, right, left again, then up and then right (no way to go down). If the other rooms would move it would be easier, but only the one you are in will move. I can't take it any more....had to quit. No "help" or clues. I felt like a mouse on a wheel. ekk! Running in circles and getting no where. 40 min. Not a buy for me.
