Wow, this would be a good game if it were a good game. Visual is very well done. Nice jump to different levels. Good graphics and pretty good sound.
But, the "buts" start here:
Very confusing instructions or hints if any. Didn't see any skips. You get stars instead of hints, and you get no idea of how many you have used or can use to complete the level until you complete the level. I didn't see any way to exit or skip a level once you have begun. No exit unless you can get to the map to get to the main menu or exit. Wanted to tear my hair out until I figured that you can use the star at the lower left hand corner to get hints to where the item is or what you are supposed to do. Yellow star reloads slowly when there are 6 more things you have to find and have no idea of what or where. When you use the star the animal suddenly appears in purple on a what was once an invisible background. I don't know how long this game goes on, but I clogged through 3-4 levels. So, I feel that I did give it a good try.
Take this review with a few grains of salt because I don't like TM games. I thought that this one was fun because of the new "match" aspects, which makes this one a little different.
Graphics - OK Music - OK Story Line - OK/Cuter than most
However, game is slow and non-responsive. I could match things faster, if game was more responsive. Not for me, because I don't do well with time constraints. However, for other TM enthusiasts this could be a very middle of the road game.
Try before you buy. I only got through two levels before I gave up. Would I recommend? Try this game first to see if it's your cut of tea, or favorite cocktail.
I bought this game a few years ago. It's still one of my "go to" games. It has two choices for play, the typical match 3, or you can choose to block out groups at once. Building your own flower garden is a lot of fun. You get choices of flowers and shrubs as your points build. You get 3 gardens to build. Problem was that in just my first month, I played this game so much that I had all three gardens full. I now have thousands of credits built up. I wish there were more garden templates to use for all my built up credits. But, you can always go to your gardens and delete your work and rebuild again.
I play this game almost every day. It's fun, relaxing, and the visuals are so enjoyable. This game even gives you an option to use one of your gardens for a screen saver. I love the waterfalls and the little creatures that move through your garden. PLEASE, give me more gardens to fill.
I tried the hour free version and couldn't stop playing; so, I bought it. I kept playing until the end. My little village is so adorable. The music is great, the sound effects are delightful. I love the "crunch" sound, when you release a designation tile; and, the explosions are a kick in the head. It's as addictive as sitting all day at the slots, in Vegas. That just leaves the graphics. The graphics are the best I've ever seen in a game.
This game is so enjoyable that I'm going to start it again in the timed mode, and then when I finish I'll probably start it again with another players name. ENJOY!!!
The village of Lumina is in trouble! Defeat your challengers with the help of powerful spells, and find treasures in more than 10 hidden object scenes.
I agree with another reviewer here, about 90-93% through the game the only puzzles left to complete are the challenges. They just play over and over and over again, no matter how many times you hit the "skip" button. I got through what looks to be 200 levels (which is several hours of fun) before I reached this impossible level to complete. If there is an option for "skip" you should really be able to SKIP.
This is a serious flaw, that made the game less enjoyable for me. The rest of the game is fun and the graphics are beautiful. And, I really liked buying things to fill the magic kingdom. At least there is an option to play with a new name so you can go through the game again. But, I doubt that I'll ever be able to "finish". The challenges at the end are too hard. It would have been better for the final level if the match 3 were harder instead of these impossible challenges, or even better yet -- a different game altogether like a simple Mah Jong or something. Oh well.
There are only two games like this here at BF. I really wish there were more like this. I would buy everyone you could make. I am a logic problem fanatic. THIS IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS!!!
Please make more games like this!.
If you like logic problems, you need to try then buy this game. It's a rare find!!!
I tried this game on a one hour trial. I usually do not like arcade games; but, this one is different. In a really cute water and ice setting, you have a shape to fill in (a frog, fish or flower) with different geometric shapes that drop from the sky. The object is to get the design filled in before you have no more room in the water for floating unused shapes. I didn't take a lot of time to read about the bonuses that you can use, because I wanted to use all my time in the trial to get familiar with the game.
In just 50 minutes I got through the first 10 levels. The bonus level was very difficult and I didn't complete it in time. But, I completed all the rest of the levels, without using any bonuses, in plenty of time to "beat the clock".
If you are looking for a fun little game that is very different than most of the stuff you get here on BF, I'd highly recommend that you give this little game a chance. I can see where it could quickly get addictive.
I may end up buying this game. However, I can see that after level 10 (which is as far as I got) it could get very difficult pretty fast. And, I didn't see the option to play just certain levels again. I may not have taken enough time to get really familiar with all the options in the game play to see if you are able to choose multiple levels of difficulty. Or, if you change your name to a different player to play just the easy levels again, will the puzzles be the same, or will you get new easy shapes to fill in?
It might be just me, but I love this game. I don't know what all the negative comments are about. I really wanted a bowling game because I bowl twice a week; and, I wanted to brush up on my bowling skills for fun. I tried all of BF bowling games and this one is the best. I waited for my monthly credit and then got it. I've played it every day since. I play it so much every day that I'm getting cramps in my hand, lol.
There are five alleys to choose from. The Retro; Jungle; Iceberg; Whacky and Lotus. There are over 25 balls to choose from. (Beautiful colors and patterns). All of the balls have various speeds; weights; and spin factors, that can be changed to your liking. You can even practice your curve ball by steering the ball once it's released on the alley.
The game allows you to keep track of your score(s); and, you can play single; with a computer opponent; or with another player you can make up yourself. You can also erase the score boards and start a new one. I erased all 5 score boards when I had to get over a 200 to get on the board. And, I don't think that it's that "easy". Just try to get a 200 on the "Whacky" level or on the "Iceberg" level. I'm still working on that perfect 300 game. I hope to get it in GUTTERBALL 2, because it's for sure I'll never see one in real life.
Oh, and the graphics are just AWESOME!!!
I gave this game 5 stars across the board except for 3 stars for the "storyline". With each alley you can choose the announcers. You have a choice of 1 or 2, per game. However, the number of announcers are limited; and the same voices that keep whining at you, and saying the same things over and over, can get annoying. If there were as many choices of announcers as there is in the bowling balls....I'd give this game 10 stars across the board !
If you are a bowling fan, I highly recommend this game!
I've never played a HOG quite like this. It's GREAT! A lot of fun and a lot of very funny twists and turns. If you are looking for a straight HOG, this isn't for you. It's more of a fun quirky adventure, with many riddles and stumbling blocks to overcome. The story line is really excellent, and a great addition to the game. You won't find whole objects to find here; only pieces of objects. And then you have to use these objects to complete a task or puzzle. I had to use the hint button a lot. But, no matter...it recharges quickly. I did get to a few puzzles that were making me tear my hair out. But, again no worry. Just wait out the timer and select "skip" when it lights up use this option. You'll get your item anyway. I only got stuck towards the end of the game. If this happens to you, you can go through the walk-through. It's a big help. I found this game very challenging to get through. But, the game was so much fun, that I stuck it out until the end. Some people say that they can't play it again after the first time. I had no problem. I just use a different name at the beginning. I'm so hooked that I'm going right straight to my second game, right now.
I just got this game. I'm stuck on the level with the vines. The vines grow faster than you are able to get rid of them. This just takes all the fun out of it. I have plenty of coins to finish the level. But, I can't out race those awful vines. I should have paid more attention to other reviews here before I bought the game. Unfortunately you can probably get through the hour free play before you get anywhere near the 25th level, where you'll have to be smarter than I am or you'll be stuck there for the rest of your life. Note to game designer: Next time make the vines permanently disappear when you've eliminated them 3 times. That way someone has at least a chance of getting through this level. Up till then it was a pretty fun game. Disappointed.
