This game is way to old for the computers of today.

Yikes, BigFish needs to put the creation date some-where near the tile or spec's page. "Enough Said" Perhaps BigFish did not make enough money on this one so they are keeping it around a while. But if I did not know better and this game was one of my early purchases, I would be moving on to one of the other sites. out there. I really like Large-File games but wow are they hard to come by these days.
Perhaps I have played to many of these HOG games recently. I just played large file game "Return to Ravenhearst". Wow what a challenge that game is...so back to this game. I was very annoyed with the constant back and forth of finding objects. For example, you open up any tool scene and there are a few things that need to be picked up, but you have to find an object or two before you can get to the item. example, this is not a give away by any means, you will run into it no matter what you do. I opened tool scene on the steps and there was this movie camera I looked high an low for the tool to get into it only to find a simple zipper pull. It was things like that, just did not make sense. The story is crazy, enough said. You can see my ratings above. I did play on the medium or advanced level so there were hints available, but you will not need them with the jump map, you find an item and the jump map shows you where to go to use it. I did not like that, but you need a jump map with this game. There is another difficultly level with no help period, but with out the jump map you will be going all over the place trying to remember where things are. If you are a die-hard player the hardest level will offer the best challenge. There is no need for an easy level, period. I think the designers made an error spending time on an easy level and could have used that time to improve the game. Have you played "Be a King and Be a King II" well if you have you will recognize the voice of the helpful narrating crow. The voice just pushed my hair the wrong way, it just does not fit. I do not like being so negative, but I can not recommend this game. I liked the Templar CE and that is why I bought this one. Should have used the "Try B4 U Buy" option.
I realize this is an old series, but wow was this a tough game to master. Clearly the hardest hidden object puzzles ever, for me that is. I enjoyed the first one. This is a very deep game. There is no jump map, and you will have to purchase the guide I believe. I finally did use an online printed walk through twice, I was stumped. This was a real blast, and clearly not like the "new" simpler hidden object puzzles available today. To be clear, many of the new games offer strong challenge too, but the hidden object parts do not compare to this game. The challenge is EPIC. Take notes, and if you walk away for a day or two, "you is out-a luck". You will not be disappointed with this one. You may not like the graphics, but that is all part of this crazy game with a bazillion locations to remember. Put on your thinking caps and hang on for one heck of a ride.
If you are new to Hidden Object games then this is a good pick.

Simple really this game is for the person who is just starting to play Hidden object games. Yes there are Three difficulty modes, but I just played "Try B4 U Buy" in expert mode(which is the mid level mode) and just it was way to simple for me. Yes there was a jump map that highlights where to go next if you have found an item, but I did not need it. My feeling is, if you and an advanced player there are much better games available. I am not going to comment on the Vis/sound qual and so on there is no need just look at my grading marks above for that info. I am usually a fairly lenient grader when it comes to Visual/sound qual and storyline. Most important for me is the challenge and fun.
There is no need for "Try B4 U Buy" with this game Triumph

This is a soooppped up HOG Adventure! I had blast, did not find everything I needed, Clearly did not get all of the awards, but this is not a "One Time Play" that, I am certain of. If you are new to hidden object games and played very few adventure or large file games, perhaps you might want to try some of the HOG's that are a year to maybe even two years old, just to get into the rhythm of how these game move. I am not trying to discourage anyone but you should know the learning curve will be steep even in the easy mode. I like that there is no #jump list# map. I made the mistake of leaving the game for a couple days and OOOOPPPSSSIE. Should have take some notes, no seriously. I am not going into storyline, visual or sound quality, this is a newer game and the game inventors are pulling in more advanced tech and putting in the time. If this game moves to a PS3 level, I'm all over it. My youngest daughter plays these games with me, we have a blast. I have not tried these on big screen, but now I want to.
This is a good game if you are new to "Hidden Object Games" (HOG)

When this game was new perhaps it would have been better for me, but I have played several of these games now I just finished "Midnight Mysteries-Devil on the Mississippi, Collectors Edition" (CE) and all I can say is wow what difference. If you are a new player or have played a few HOG's then this would be a good option to move on to more advanced games. You will definitely get some good hidden object experience with this game. Most everything is done for you. You will be lead along by the hand for the most part. I did use the "Try B4 U Buy" and am glad I did. I will say that the HO scenes are not easy by any means.
Third installment is So So, I did use try b4 U buy

Wow this games sucks you in right at the start. this is a deep or long play game. I did use the hardest challenge level, because there is plenty of help in the Diary (what ever you want to call it) also you can down grade the challenge level at any time during play for a bit of help, plus you always have the hint button and a jump map. Even in the hardest challenge level there are still sparkles to give away a hidden object scene. For me some of the challenges were very easy. Now there were a couple I do not have patients for, But I always give it a go until I push away from my desk and spin around in my chair babbling I can't believe I have to start all over again. I just finished playing this game and can only give it an ok. which feels wrong because of the way it started out for me. The game slides into being "rote". I have found many installment games are thrown together just to continue revenue generation created by the first or second game. (like the whole C.O.D. thing.) This is not so here, but still I could keep typing trying to find a way out of this rating and I can't.

Put on your thinking caps, your going to need them with this not so simple hidden object game. If there wasn't a map you might never find your way to where you need to be. Two of the challenges it tried for a while but, I am just not good at that type so I did not skip until I my head was going to pop off in anger. For along time I did not like hidden object games they just seemed way to easy, or perhaps that is not fair to this game type, I mean I was looking for more of a challenge, adventure. Well I can state this has it all. This is a high mid level to high level game.
I just can't get into this game, it is way to old.

Wow when this game came out I bet it was a bit of a challenge. But I just do not like it at all. Very tedious and at time boring. It simply did not run very well. This one should be retired from the library.

I thought I would try the one hour free and It was ok but not what I thought it would be. This is a very old game and it shows. It is still fun to a point, but just not for me anymore.
