with fairy tale games. Looks like I was wrong. This one pulled me in. I appreciated the outdoor scenes; a lot of games make me feel closed in and claustrophobic. I also appreciate a good story. I guessed the ending, but the writers did try to make it interesting. It could have been a bit longer, and I could have done with fewer (or none) of the the hidden objects scenes, but at least the scenes were well-designed and relevant to the story.
I was going to give this game 4 or 5 stars. Maybe four, because it's not Syberia. But for a hidden object game this would be a winner, except for one thing. The ending had been chopped off and reserved for a collectors' edition, and there is no way to upgrade. So am I going to shell out big bucks for a whole new game I'd have to replay? Forget it. Lesson learned. I'll be getting my games on an ipod from here on out. And avoid this developer.
I get the feeling this one is geared more toward children than adults. There isn't much of a story, you just sort of wonder to these magical times/places and solve some puzzles to bring you back home. The puzzles are easy, and the narration is dumbed down. I gave it an extra star for pretty good visuals. But no go for me.
I don't recommend this game.

the couple of traditional Japanese house scenes, and the decent story. Too bad about all those multitudes of hidden objects scenes. And a lot of them at an American embassy. What a waste!
