So all over the place that it was maddening, I resorted to using the hint button constantly especially since nothing made sense and there was too much of everything to the point of saturation. A story has to make some sense to be enjoyable and the latest creations dealing with magic, the supernatural and the impossible are mostly devoid of sensible plots which, YES, makes them harder to solve because little or no reasoning is needed (just blind pot luck!) but then the fun of figuring things out in an intelligent way is taken away as well. Give me a good murder mystery anytime, an intelligent one preferably, where you do not pick stupid things around hoping to use them later even if it makes no sense at the time, or ever:
- "Hummm, a piece of broken glass, I better put it in my bag, you never know when you may need one!"
The most likely result would be that I will cut myself on it later, reaching for my car key!
- "Gee, a broken shovel laying on the pavement! Better hold on to it till I find its 1/2 rotten handle a few miles away!! Some digging maybe necessary sooner or later!"
In the mean time, I will have to carry it till I find its use, that, my purse and the piece of glass which I am bound to cut myself on later.
Give me a break!
Why do I have to carry a dozen things which make no sense, ahead of time, in the hope that they will be used in some unrealistic way.
That is the opposite of common sense!
Why not make things a bit more realistic, put us in front of the problems without weapons collected ahead of time, and allow us to figure what may be needed to solve each step...
I find myself in front of a deep forest full of thorns which I have to cross... I better run to the store and get a machete because I certainly will not find one on the ground waiting for me to pick it up but I will look on the way to the store, one never knows!!! I could also use an axe and I have one at home, I will go collect it if I do not come across a machete on the way...
No sense in carrying anything before I know I need one, right??
I am saying all this, not only for this game, but for all the latest games: most of them involve magic which permits them to have no sense, it seems. As a result, yes, they are harder to solve but since they are senseless as well, the pleasure of smart deduction is absent, taken away. I have stopped buying games for that reason. The games of a few years ago may not have had motion and movement but they were ten times better and smarter! If I want to watch animation, I can turn on the TV which animation is better to start with! What I want here is to play an intelligent sensible game, I do not care if it is animated if it allows a fun play... but they don't seem to exist anymore!
I don't recommend this game.

It is hard to enjoy a game which graphics are poor and not very detailed, a game that makes no sense at all, thus brings no pleasure, no desire to solve a non existent and too far fetched a plot if you can even call it a plot: just bad, bad, bad....
I did not even finish the trial, I was wasting time that would have been better spent on an intelligent or somewhat sensible game. I cannot believe the raving reviews, this was simply awful and uninteresting from the start.
I don't recommend this game.

This game was obviously created to show the progress of games' animation and nothing else since, as far as play, it offers no challenge, tells us what to do in advance which is always annoying, holding us by the hand thru the demo. I was so bored with the cinematographics and endless one way conversations from the little Chinese girl that I quit the demo before completing. If I want to watch a movie, I turn on the TV and if I want to play a game I intend to be challenged by the game itself, not just entertained by movement, colors and graphics. Not a buy for me, does not retain my interest one bit alas!
I don't recommend this game.

Some players have said that this game has too much talking, but I disagree, it reads like an Agatha Christie novel and the talking involves you further into the mystery. The time period is delightful, the graphics and details good, the story intriguing and you do feel like you are solving a real life English plot, none of this fairy-princess-magical-childish stuff that seems to be the order of the day and gets tiring pretty fast, at least for an adult. A few good HO, I usually am not fond of them but these were fine, clear and clever and not in abundance, and the mini-games fun and unusual and quite enjoyable. I also like the fact that the game had 3 separate chapters, so if you do not play it for a week for example, you have no problem remembering where you are since you have access to only 1 chapter at a time and do not have to go all the way back to refresh your memory. There is back and forth but limited to each chapter therefore not tedious. I loved playing this. It is clever and fun to solve, wish there were more true detective stories, in this vein, more realistic than what we get lately.

The game finishing abruptly, with no ending or epilogue at all, made me actually utter a sign of relief. I was thankfully done!
I do not recommend this game, it is an absolute waste of money: granted the animation and backdrop are not bad, but the story makes no sense especially after the demo ends (plus the game is short and puzzles poorly explained) but few games are logical these days or good after the demo ends which makes me feel tricked every time since I bought them because I was impressed by the demo quality in the first place. This new habit of talking me into a mediocre game, which first hour of play looks good, is slowly turning me off from games in general because now I cannot trust the demo, plus, without logic being involved, how much fun can a game be? NO logic here and logic in very few new productions this year!
Here, I was only aware the game ended because the credits started to roll down: I was done, to my great surprise, having accomplished nothing towards the goal I thought I had been trusted to, and I wondered why I went through the motions in the first place, to get nowhere in the end! Very disappointing! I also stopped playing for 2 days and when I got back to this game, I had no idea anymore of what it was all about, it had become too confusing and too illogical at one point to leave an impact: a good plot I am sure to remember!. Like many other gamers, I aspire for logic, quality all the way thru past the 60 mns' trial , good graphics and no more nonsense plots with no follow thru, they are no fun and cannot be solved with logic or smarts but by chance, since intelligence or wits do not apply, a real turn off. My latest impression is also that clues in most games are given backwards: for example, I am picking up silly things that I would never pick up in real life as I never would think they will come in handy later! That is ridiculous! Instead I should be forced to use whatever logic I can muster, once I find myself in front of a lock door for example, and only then should i search for an object to open it with: key, credit card, pistol, whatever.... But instead I often pick up a key before I even know of a lock to insert it in, so why am I picking it up in the first place? I must be a hoarder! I
I don't recommend this game.

I just played the hour demo and was so excited, I could not wait to leave my imput... This game is fantastic so far and really draws you in. Of course, the plot is surreal again, but in a good way, a way that makes some sense, and I need that to get involved and involved I was, deeply...
I felt, here, that I had actually entered the game and was part of it, as within, it was neat!
The action is terrific, the animation somewhat strained but I could live with that as the story grabbed me from the roll of the dice on...
The graphics are superb during the whole hour trial and I hope they remain that way for the rest of the game which I will now be buying. The clues are a bit easy so far but the whole is action packed, as a movie that I would be controlling, a pleasant and refreshing novelty, I also believe that according to what you choose to do, you change the outcome of the game which is great as one can replay it over and over with a different twist. Fun fun fun! Thank God, this leads us away from repetitive fairy tales that make no sense at all and I am so tired of!
Try it, I had a blast! Wishing for more like this!
I recommend this game!

I bought the game because of a great first trial hour spent, it seems, in San Francisco. The graphics were superb, detailed and clear and the clues interesting & fun and clever to locate: however, the second and 3rd parts of the game are not up to par with the first and my interest plunged quickly when I reached them. I finished the game because I always finish what I start, but reluctantly, without finding it any fun!
What a disappointment, it was as if the team that created it had lost interest as well and wanted to complete the story in a hurry. Thus the story, in the 2nd and 3rd part, becomes terribly unrealistic and the clues even more absurd.
To make matters worse, the graphics dip in quality, become foggy, lack detail and are just boring and unpleasant to the eye, with little to find in each frame.
The puzzles are, however, interesting as single units, but the game as a whole does not excite one enough to care about solving it which was fine since It allowed me not to be disappointed when it ended abruptly, but instead quite relieved to be done with it!
I don't recommend this game.

I have to agree with all the players that left this game 1 to 3 stars. The colors and details of this game are cheerful but there is an complete absence of story line and a bunch of quite repetitive tasks which made no sense either: the end result being that there was no incentive, no valid or reasonable reason to continue after the free trial, no curiosity to find out where this was going as this seemed just a parade of beautiful images without a plot, indeed going nowhere, and I, for one, had lost interest when the trial hour was up. I had solved all that was to solve and none of it made any sense at all, I had no desire to buy it and continue to indulge this senseless charade.
I must admit that I am already very tired of all these magical, supernatural and fairylike productions, so far from real life, with stories that, more often than not, make no sense at all, thus too irrealistic to grab one's attention and hold it, too absurd to even care to solve. We NEED games that make sense so we can apply common sense and wit to solve them, that is the purpose of a game, is it not? We want to become a Sherlock Holmes of sorts for a few fun hours, that is what makes a game interesting: sensible clues are important and necessary and seem to be absent from many games this year, games that now have no rhyme nor reason: what makes a game challenging and fun is a serie of clues that actually combine to bring an intelligent solution that will give the player some satisfaction in the end: these off the wall plots prevent us from thinking smart and deducting from clever clues as a detective would. Please allow us to use our intelligence rather than resorting to pot luck in solving plots too ridiculous to hang on to!
I don't recommend this game.

EVERYTHINGS IS EXCELLENT, the story, the graphics, the follow through, i loved every minute of it. I recommend this game which kept me entertained from beginning to end with curiosity, satisfaction in solving the many twists and turns, and never boring for 1 minute. It is so exciting when one finds a super game to play and, even there were supernatural factors here, they still allowed the plot to be convincing thus retaining my interest in solving it: I don't like when things are too off the wall, too unrealistic, too unbelievable as it makes me lose my desire to solve a plot that I cannot relate to. tHIS WAS PERFECT and I will play it again with pleasure, good graphics too, everything was good! it was fun!

Graphics are not always detailed and often somewhat fuzzy, I like crisp and minute detail which I have loved in some new games. Too much back and forth, and if there was not a map available, it would have been awful, I ended up using it constantly which i do not like to do because otherwise, i kept on running around like a chicken without a head. The HO are too busy and it is hard to find some items, hardly visible. I did enjoy the game somewhat because the puzzles are interesting and challenging but that is it!. The story is far-fetched, but I could have put up with that although I do not love the unrealistic tales' types, less engrossing than a real life or close to real life plot, but the objects you had to find to go on often made no sense at all making the progress difficult and annoying because I had to use them in situations that often made no sense, it made the game hard because it was not a common sense solution so I tried to use different things that made little sense till I fell on the right one. I have played better games with better graphics and more follow through. Anyway that is my opinion. There are different chapters and the graphics are the best at the beginning and the end of the game, to attract us when we try the trial I assume and to leave us on a good impression when the game ends. There are better games now
I don't recommend this game.
